Hey all. I recently decided to conduct an experiment. I kinda miss our free-form game, but the recent try to restart in the Spring really didn't seem to catch. I am attempting to start again in a slower fashion.
I have resurrected Club Calistria. I invite anyone who is interested to hang about and mingle. I am not really interested in using that area for heavy combat or story resolution, but I figure it might work as a neutral area for folks to try out new characters, or re-introduce old ones. As people get into their characters again, perhaps they will start new threads or re-invigorate old ones. I am hoping the OTD (or now Forum) game might re-emerge organically, like it did back in 2009. Hope to see you there!
Though my posting ability still isn't what it was last year, I'll try to put in as many entertaining bits as I can. It's good to have the Club back!

Basically Irv, the OTD Game was a free-form RPG, pretty much rules free. We made up avatars and used them as player characters in an kind of gestalt storyline where we would improv off each others ideas. We created about a dozen threads which were different 'realms' and had the characters run through them. Just an interesting way to tell a story.
It worked pretty well, but then got fractured with complexity, some power issues and a couple of bad forum moves to the threads. These threads were in the OTD section to start, then shifted to PbP. They finally moved all of them to this area, but by that point the game was pretty dead.
I am just interested to see if a 'hard reboot' of the game would work better than trying to resurrect all the differing threads and storylines we had. So I dusted off Club Calistria as a starting point, and we'll see where things go from there. You are more than welcome to jump into the mix, always good to have new players.

And I ended up being swept up in a s#+~storm of RL stuff and board ignoring. I am trying to pick up the pieces, so I will see where things are at this time. Hopefully I can get restarted on stuff soon.
Haven't been on the boards in a while, but anyway I've brought a crate of vodka and Sunny Delight for one and all. Jeffrey, my alter ego, turned 40 this past 9th and wanted to see what's up. Wish him a Happy, if late birthday.
There's also a good chance that he will show up at Gen con this year. Nothing confirmed but keep your fingers crossed.
