anyone have tried using doppleganger( as per the mounters manual 4ed) or the changellings from eberon in pathfinder? if so have they got the stats etc?

Is the changeling race under ogl? it is in eberon that was made using d20

Doppleganger is OGL, but the Changling and Eberron are not OGL.

I allow changlings in my game. I have ones in one of my PBP's

They work as written except they gain a +2 to one stat

Ah that is shame so it would not be published as part of pathfinder, however nothing stopping us from doing what the above post is doing. Using it on our campaign as we players have all the freedom in the world we can do as we please.

Paladium has a race called changeling too and they created it ages before wotc. I not sure giving enough though into it that wotc could claim ip infringement if one were to create a new race called changeling that can shape change. besides changeling's are part of mythology too.

The names is fine, it's the mechanics of the race thats you can not use.

So we can not create or in fact no one can create a race with the ability Shape change period?! Any race ever?

Not if it's word for word cut and paste changeling no. Ya can make your own you just can't cut and paste say the chaglings block in and call it say lamlin or anything

I'd point out that it's designed to work with Pathfinder alter self not the SRD version.
