Welcome to the Errata and Typos thread for the Magic Item portion of the playtest. If you spot any typos or rules that need errata in this section, please post them to this thread. Note that this is not a thread for discussing rules changes, only obvious mistakes or unclear rules. We have done our best to make these chapters as clean as possible, but 10,000 eyes are better than 12. Thanks for your help.

From the archived Editing Mistakes thread:
Rod of the Viper (p. 357-358) uses the old poison rules and should be updated to the PRPG version of poison.
Chime of Opening (p. 370-371) should probably use the new mechanics for the knock spell, caster level check +10 (+21 in this case) vs. the DC of the lock.
Dust of Appearance (p. 373) the aura entry is in italics. For other items, they are not.
Many of the elixirs have the wrong aura type (p. 374 - 375) Elixir of Love should be enchantment, elixir of swimming should probably be transmutation, elixir of tumbling should probably be transmutation. Personally, I think that any skill bonus granting item should be transmutation, and not based on what spell is used in the construction. If this is the case, then elixir of hiding and elixir of vision should also be transmutation.
Gloves of Arrow Snaring (p. 376) also has the aura in italics.
Goggles of Minute Seeing (p. 376) should have a price of 2,500gp and cost of 1,250 gp, based on a skill bonus of +5. The 3.5 version had half of this price and cost, but that's because of the limiting factor of only being for secret doors or traps, and not all uses of the search skill (though admittedly that was most of the uses.) The PRPG version gives +5 to all uses of disable device.
Mattock of the Titans (p.381), the aura listing is in italics instead of standard font
Necklace of Adaptation (p. 381-382), the requirements lists Craft Wondrous Item, and spell. I'm guessing that is a placeholder. In 3.5 the required spell was alter self, which seems reasonable still, though other options could be water breathing, similar to the Bottle of Air.
Necklace of Fireballs (p. 382), the Slot has neck listed, but the description of the item states "It does not count as an item worn around the neck for the purpose of determiing which of a character's worn magic items is effective." Based on this, the Slot entry should be "-" (also, the quoted sentance could probably be cut down to something like "It does not count as occupying the neck slot.")
Rope of Entanglement (p. 385) has requirements of both animate objects and animate rope, as well as entangle. This is the same as in 3.5, but seems a bit redundant to have both animate spells.
Caster's Shield (web enhancement p.45) makes reference to a spell inscribed on the shield has half the raw material cost, then goes on to say that experience point costs remain the same. Since there no longer are experience point costs in PRPG, that reference should be removed.

Manual of Bodily Health (Web Enhancement page 61), Manual of Gainful Exercise (Web Enhancement page 61), Manual of Quickness of Action (Web Enhancement page 61), Tome of Clear Thought (Web Enhancement page 64), Tome of Leadership and Influence (Web Enhancement page 64), Tome of Understanding (Web Enhancement page 64): all these magic items are based on the Wish or Miracle spell, yet the cost to create them is roughly half the cost to cast a Wish spell a number times equal to the bonus they grant.
Tome +1= cost to create 13750 gp; 1 Wish= 25000 gp
Tome +2= cost to create 27500 gp; 2 Wishes= 50000 gp
and so on.

Pipes of the Sewers (page 383):
"The piper must continue playing until the rats appear, and when they
do so, the piper must make a DC 10 Perform (wind instruments) check.
(...)
If they are called again within a day, the Perform check DC is 15."
The item doesn't say if there is a further limit to call additional Rat Swarms or not - or if the item can be used more than twice per day or not (actually, this is an omission which is a legacy from the 3.5 SRD itself, which doesn't clearly state what is the maximum limit of uses per day the Pipes of the Sewers has).

Table 15-27 states that the price of an item with Multiple Different Abilities should 'Multiply higher item cost by 2', but in the text under 'Multiple Different Abilities' you should simply add the values of the abilities together to determine cost. One of them is wrong... or am I reading the table vs. the text wrong and just not understanding?

Potion of Poison (page 11 of the web enhancement with cursed items) uses the 3.5 poison rules (on save, then another a minute later) instead of the version in the Beta rulebook.

This is something that was discussed in another thread:
The Bracers state that they give an armor bonus specifically, but then they have that garbage at the end about needing a + 1 enhancement bonus minimum, giving rise to the question of what type of bonus the bracers are actually giving.
In fact, on page 370, the text says:
"These items appear to be wrist or arm guards. They surround the wearer with an invisible but tangible field of force, granting him an armor bonus of +1 to +8, just as though he were wearing armor. Both bracers must be worn for the magic to be effective.""Bracers of armor must have a +1 enhancement bonus to grant an armor special ability. Bracers of armor cannot have any armor special abilities that add a flat gp amount to their cost."
The second sentence is obviously slightly misleading (it should read 'Bracers of armor must have a +1 Armor bonus to grant an armor special ability.').

I guess this was brought up before as it is kind of obvious but just to make sure:
The whole Magic Item Basics chapter from the 3.5 SRD is missing.
