In my investigation of this bug I haven't found any entries that actually got lost. The only thing that doesn't get set is the flag that says "this person has submitted an entry." Having said that, better to be safe than sorry -- if you don't see the "thanks for your entry, good luck" message, SUBMIT IT AGAIN. You won't be penalized for submitting the same entry twice.
(However, anybody taking advantage of this bug to submit multiple different items will be disqualified, and I will be checking every finalist and the alternates to make sure that hasn't happened. So don't do that.)
This is one of those bugs that I can't duplicate and can't figure out how it's even possible to happen, by the way. My favorite kind.

Question: If duplicate posts do happen to occur on an account, which post will you be keeping as the "official submission"?
I ask because when I realized that seeing the "submit your entry link" meant it probably hadn't gone through I allowed myself to succumb to the editorial twitch that arose moments after I pushed the submit button the first time and made a few changes to the descriptive text before resubmitting. I changed nothing about the mechanics but something about the flow of the description wasn't sitting right so I revised it to fix that by tightening things up. Thus, given a choice, if I did happen to have a duplicate entry, and though the first version is certainly quite acceptable I'd certainly prefer that the second version be considered "the official version".

If we get two copies of the same entry, and the judges haven't begun to comment on either, we keep the older one. If the judges have commented on the newer one, we keep that one.
Well I guess that's a bummer for me, but thanks for the clarification.
Has there actually been a lot of duplicates coming in? Given the number of times I've seen people mention that they've had to re-post it seems like the number might be quite high... unless, of course, most apparent failures are actual failures?

I submitted an entry through the admissions thingee, but afterwards I just got the message "Click Here to Submit an Entry" on the RPG Superstar main page. Is this normal, or should I be seeing a different message? If I submit the same entry again, will I be disqualified?
I was pretty sure my first one went through until I read this thread. Then I couldn't for the life of me remember if I'd seen the "Thanks for Entering" or "Click Here to Submit an Entry" message. So if there's two of mine about an hour apart or so, that would be why. >.<

Glad I saw this thread. After I submitted it just sent me to another page with no message about my post. I'll post again to make sure.
I post again and it just went back to the same click here to submit your entry screen. I did it a 3rd time and I got the message at the top that said "Important: Your Item has been submitted".

I'm glad I looked at this thread. I had submitted my entry a week or so ago and had the sneaking suspicion it didn't go through. But, I didn't want to take a chance and re-submit because I figure I'd get auto-DQ'd for multiple entries. I'm sure it went through this time, so at least I'll know I was turned down based on merit.

Oh no. I just read this, and now I'm not sure if my entry went through or not. Is there a way to find out?

Oh no. I just saw this site, or thread, or whatever. When I entered my submission, I got something similar. I'm brand new to these boards. My submission was my first entry ever. I thought that was normal.
Does that mean I didn't enter? Because the deadline's long gone by and I can't resubmit or try again.

I don't know what the response will be with regard to your entry, but welcome to posting in the community of the Paizo Messageboards... :D

Well, on your profile it says you have two posts... but "Recent Posts" only shows one... which means you have a post somewhere that's not publicly visible... which I'd say probably means your entry went through... but of course don't take that as a guarantee.
