Ah you misunderstand, think about what a drow who thinks in terms of violence, and hot sweaty indulgent lust, would find deviant. I offer the finest, and classiest entertainment in the land, in an enviroment fit for the finest of lords...
*she blinks, taking a moment in processing the words* That sounds so twisted that it even makes sense.

I would imagine it would be ended with a Kasori strike downward, only reversed so as to eviscerate your hepless foe. Don't look so grim, young one, I'm sure the feind that comes to mind was deserving of his fate... and besides the last thing he got to see was you, so at least he died with that comfort.*winks slyly*

I don't think so.

Uhm sir, take no offense, but I wouldn't like that wicked jester anywhere near my home, or the Ivy Playhouse for that matter. Likewise, I'd still like an explaination of what's your relationships to aboleths, it was in your theater I got the slime disease after all.

Looks back and forth between Moorluck and Joanne
"If I was having a small bit of fun at your expense, it certainly isn't as dastardly as the fun these other gents have had. No diving into exposed decolletage or other such offensive activities."
Sighs heavily...
"I would certainly prefer to keep our relations amenable...but the choice is yours."

"It is my truest hope that we can all remain friends...one cannot deny ones own nature can they?"
Our relations will remain as amiable as you keep them, I assure you. Gaslighting, however, is rather poor form.
"If I was having a small bit of fun at your expense, it certainly isn't as dastardly as the fun these other gents have had. No diving into exposed decolletage or other such offensive activities."
*she sighs with her cheeks slightly red* That was rather daring of the drow now that I think about it. While you still have questions to answer, I guess I'm glad you're not as insidious as the jester.
| KaeYoss |
and while your notions of an innocent orc are fine.. I suppose you have never had a hord in front of you killing your friends and neighboors... *grits her teeth annotes* and others...
Nope. Not killing my friends and neighbours. More falling before my power. Like orcs are wont to do. I mean, even an apprentice wizard can eradicate whole tribes.
But then again it's not my style to wait for them to come to my neighbourhood to kill and loot and rape, I prefer meeting them a day or two off in the wilderness.
And, of course, war is completely different, but I can understand how you will justify indiscriminate slaughter of orcs by using the horde excuse. You orderly types seem to like tot hink that way.
"You know...I'm not even certain that the Demiplane of Dread still exists...or if it, in fact, exists in this continuum. Too many realities, I'm afraid."
Yeah, it's still there. I was there a couple of years past.
Same old same old: People being afraid and close-minded, things going bump in the night, a lot of Ys being used to spell things differently (they think it makes stuff awesomer or something). Borders are as closed as ever, and the same backdoors out exist.
well clown I have suffered you to live and you fill quite peerfectly the description of the witch...

so don't try to play games with my mind... I have enought will to conver an Erinye to the path of good... if so I desire...
Of course you have. And I've persuaded archons and axiomites to embrace chaos.

What can I say. Emergent patterns and all. Chaos really is interesting.

Uhm sir, take no offense, but I wouldn't like that wicked jester anywhere near my home, or the Ivy Playhouse for that matter.
But I have a box there!
As for Ashal and the Aboleths: I guess he has studied them. It's part of a well-rounded education concerning arcane magic after all. If there's a race that can eradicate your continent with a comet from the Dark Tapestry if you give them lip, you better learn all you can about them, to avoid giving offense.

then you have never been near the Belkzen... the Horde comes and goes and the only thing protecting our borders and the erst of civilizations are our nobles knights, so I won't be convinced by the likes of you oh the easiness of killing orcs

Bin there, done that. I've been practically everywhere. The Hold does get boring after a while. You can only kill so many orcs before it gets repetitive. You can play games like "how many orcs can you kill in a minute" or "how many orcs can you kill with just a dagger" or stuff like that, but in the end, orcs are poor sport.
Even if they're led by half-orcs, it's not really fun.
I tried educating a couple of tribes once, supplied them with superiour weapons, made sure they got some nice training and enlightenment, and the right amount of adventuring groups that were just strong enough to challenge them but not too strong, so they would persevere and grow.
They got drunk on the power and wiped each other out. And even the last orc standing, though impressive for an orc, wasn't nearly as much fun as the effort would have demanded.
and neither I will discuss this with those who have hardly seen the horde at work
Oh, they can be fun for a while. Their war machines really are inventive.
By the way: You can easily kill a hundred orcs in a minute by possessing the biggest war machine and letting it go berserk in its own ranks.
They make them big and nasty and expect to have fun when they let them roll right over the enemy ranks, but they don't get the joke when their own creation starts jumping up and down on their army.
Another problem with orcs: No sense of humour.
, yes small parties in the rest of the world could be easily taken by unexperienced adventurers... but those same adventurers would not confront what we do year with year...
No, I wouldn't. I'm busy in the depths of the Maelstrom, or the Dark Tapestry, meeting entities with more limbs - and eyes - than the number of orcs you've seen in your brief lifetime.
After a fight with something like that, you tend to stop getting excited at orc hordes or mere demons.
that is a very limited version... it also included those who used powers beyond the comprehension of regular institution
Yeah, like "female emancipation". In fact, that was the main power they were killed for. Order can be so much fun!
... those who linked with extraplanar non-good entities, and who speak so easily of certain topics... well different topics
Different views, and being persecuted for them. Me, I prefer Irori's teachings, that knowledge is an end of itself, and topics aren't bad. Only intentions.
You know, Irori, the guy who didn't need help becoming a god, unlike some.
you would be a perfect for inquiring, you are lucky I am NOT that kind of Inquisitor...
I encourage every inquisitor to take me on. If they're indecisive, let me repeat some of what Abraxas has to say to further encourage them. I didn't have breakfast yet.
betting is not good,
You're just no fun. Let others decide for you what is good and what is bad. Putting everything in tiny, neatly labelled boxes. "If you're not with us, you're against us." Seing everything in black or white, and missing out on all the nice colours on the rainbow.
and definitively you don't have anything worth pushing you toward the corruptions of higher beings.
But I already started.
I found an angel who worked for one of those lawful types, serving as a lorekeeper. I made a very strong case about knowledge, its importance (well, she agreed to that already), and how surely it was of utmost important to gather more knowledge, to better serve the forces of good and prevent evil deeds. She had no choice but to come to the conclusion that although rules were fine and well, you have to bend them, circumvent them, and break them, if they stand between you and some information that might save live and goodness.
Being the helpful type I am, I helped her move to Elysium, from where it is easier to get information on some sites. And gave here some advise about hairdos (she kept her head clean-shaven before) and made arrangements for her to meet Calistria, or one of her higher servants, who will instruct her in in... information gathering techniques.
Took me 6 days, as Heaven measures time.

"Firstly...do I call you 'Sir', 'Lady', 'Lady-Sir'...I'm not certain the proper mode of address for a knight of the feminine persuasion. Ahem.."
"Irregardless, I have had a question of philosophy come to me, Sir-Lady Fenix. What is the exact nature of your sovereign goddess Iomedae's relationship to the archdevil god Asmodeus. and those informs are nothing but falseties and lies, we deal with Abadar and others... Goatlieb, please don't give them ideas...
as she said Ashal, this time this is not my choice, but if it was my choise I will wear my goddess tunics or armor... but in my free time I am also a woman so I need my own space to relax, whatever I wear or do in such a time... its none of your business...

"I am not attempting to offend, so please do not construe a judgement where there is none. As for your mode of dress being none of my business, that is true...however, when you wear it openly, it is certainly within the realm of being commented on. Oh and please do note, Lady Fenix, thus far I have had absolutely nothing to do with your varying states of disrobement. While I am by no means prudish, I am not a complete deviant either...at least not to my understanding of such things."

Gets the point across. Subtlety is often wasted on others (especially the law freaks), and before I waste minutes trying to tell them what I mean, I hammer my point home in the first attempt. Wakes them up, makes them take note.
It's not like said thing even existed.
Yes, they do. I grant you, humanitarians are a dying breed, but there's still some around.
In addition, regardless of written codes, we're all human, and entitled to rest and personal time now and then.
All human? So you begrudge your elven and dwarven and halfling and gnome and half-elf comrades their rest?
Other than that, I disagree: If you really believe in something, you believe in it with all your heart, and you stand for it all the time.
But it figures: I always suspected that those law freaks considered justice and virtue to be a 9-5 job.
And that's why Chaos will win again, in the end: we don't champion Chaos because we think we have to, or that we need to fulfill some obligation and can abandon it after we did our share. We Champion it because we know it is right. Not because we're told to. Not because we think we have to. Not because of Duty, or to honour hour fathers.
We do what we do because we want to.

There are those around here who say that those of your ilk only have to behave during work hours.

Hey, 'Leth. I'd tell you that you could have her, but I advise against it. You could gorge yourself on her mind all day and would starve doing so.
Anyway, how are things down there?
And did you know that recently, someone tried to repeate that stunt from 10.000 years ago?
Somehow, Abraxas got hold of your tricks and did what he always does.
I studied the process, and must say, it's really quite interesting. I'm working on representing it with psionics instead of magic - not a big problem - and refining it so it can be used on smaller comets, and without the long preparation. I think I'm quite close to coming up with a combat application to this.
I can show you what I've go so far, if you want. Maybe you have an idea.
