Hello ladies and gents...

(snipped for length)

I came here first since I already play with most of you.

If it's 4e, I'm very likely in. How do you feel about Invokers, Sorcerers and suchlike? Or put another way, can we use anything that shows up in the character builder if we post it nicely for you to vet?

Just post it and I'll give it a look.

I'm in, if you still have room. I've been wanting to play an Elven warlock, if that's alright.

Welcome aboard David!

Cale are you still interested, drop by the recruitment page

I would love to. Just let me know what's needed. Melee, ranged, magic, or healing. I don't care so much which role I get, just that my role is established.

As for role, we've got two defenders (fight, swordmage?) and two strikers (sorcerer, warlock). So if you'd like to tale the role of leader (cleric, warlord) or controller (wizard) that could help. But feel free to whatever you'd like

Male Human Geek 10

Back to Spellgard-land, (No offense, Lazaro) Does anyone know what happened to Leo? I would like to keep the game moving if possible. I realize that some of you are not as pathetic as me, but I ran out of Naruto episodes and burned thru Wolverine and the X-men (ep.1 to 17) and the lady I liked on this dating website shot me down. So I want to game, people!!

EDIT: Just ignore the previous rant, people. Just letting out some steam. And I am bored, as I stated earlier. Monday night blues.

Human

He posted. You're up. With a variety of fun, debilitating conditions to contend with.

My boys done good this round. I've never seen such an imposing collection of effects at once before.

Human

Just posted on this on the game thread. If you get through this fight, a shiny new level is all yours. Well, all of you except Snaggletooth, who is already there.

Start thinking about stat bumps and feats. And try to stay alive to enjoy them.

Human

Snaggletooth should be back on his feet shortly. I'm sorry you've ended up unable to do anything very much Cale, but the tide of battle seems to be turning in favour of our heroes at last.

I admit to being mildly surprised at how tough an encounter this has turned out to be.

Human

For those that check the discussion thread first, please level up.

You've survived the ettercap horror and are now level 4. Stat boost, new feat and please amend all your skills/attacks and whatnot upwards.

I'd be grateful if you'd let me know on this thread what you're taking in the way of feats and stat boosts.

Oh - and congratulations. That was a lot nastier than I thought it would be.

M Goliath Cleric 14 / Storm Speaker / Druid

+1 WIS (of course) and DEX.

Combat Medic (from PHB2 -- +2 to Heal skill, and can stabilize the dying as a minor action).

Human

I'm happy to allow it, but I don't yet have PHB2.

On which subject, if anyone is getting it and wishes to amend a feat once it arrives, I'm happy for you to do that. No point in having new pretties if you can't use them.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

I've been looking everywhere for the phb 2, but everywhere I've been says not till tomorrow

Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic

+1 WIS and DEX.

Lethal Hunter. She is now a bit more deadly, and +11 to Nature! :D

Lazaro wrote:

It's not. I found it Thursday in a store that broke street date. <gloat, gloat>

DAH, curse you! :)

So tell me about the avenger is it as cool as I think it is?

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

Cue evil laughter

MUHAHAHAHAHA!!

Looking at the PHB 2, this looks pretty awesome. I'll know more once I actually sit and read it.

*The Deva would make an awesome Wandering Swordmage!

**Melee Training (Heroic Feat) is awesome it's mostly the Swordmage's Intelligence Blademaster feat, except you can choose the ability you make your basic melee attack with

***WTF, the Avenger has an AC bonus similar to Swordmade, but that you knew. The kicker here is Improved Armor of Faith (Heroic), mostly gives the the Avenger an +1... Oh and it SCALES! Granting a +3 bonus to AC in the end!

Human

Just stop with the gloating all of you. I am gibbering with need to get my sticky paws on PHB2 and it's not a pretty sight.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

Sorry Rev not trying to gloat. But it's 3:30 in the morning and not much else to do

Human

I'll live. 3.30 is good gloating time. Any other random goodness leaping out at you?

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

I'm gonna have to check about updating Seram. The barbarian now gets a scaling AC and reflex bonus! They changed Rage Strike into a Daily power. They've made some tweaks to the barbarian powers.

The sorcerer and the avenger are the classes I'm mostly reading up on. They're just awesome!

There's a new Eladrin Racial Paragon Path. Mostly the coolest ability is whenever you teleport you gain a +2 to all your defenses. It's Action Point ability is... meh

The Versatile Master feat is great. The power gained by the Dilettante racial trait is usable now at-will. Plus gives you alot of extra goodies

Human

Any Sorcerer feats that might help Clovis stay alive a little longer? Since he has an entirely feeble AC of 13.

Rev Rosey wrote:

Hmm, nothing of real use in the AC department but

Arcane Spellfury gives you a +1 to attacks when you hit any enemy with a sorcerer at-will attack power

Coordinated Explosion gives you a +1 bonus to attack rolls against the power’s targets if an is within the burst or the blast. Coordinated

Disciplined Wild Soul let's you roll twice to determine your damage type

Sorcerous Blade Channeling let's you use a ranged power as a melee touch if use with a dagger

Human

Nice!

Cutting and pasting and moving that bit over to the Hollow's thread.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

Geez this avenger thing is ticking me off. Why do they get a feat for bonus AC and know one else does (especially the Swordmage)

RRRRRAAAGGGGEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

So I'm still thinking what feat to give Brujo this level my choices (narrowed they down) are:

Intelligent Blademaster - Int to basic melee attack

Melee Training (PHB2) - Just here for redundancy

Implement Expertise (PHB2) - +1 (scaling) bonus to attack rolls with any implement power you use through that type of implement. And since any light or heavy blade counts as my implement it's value as a feat increases!

Human

Swordmage AC is pretty high though. I'm always surprised at how hard Brujo is to hit. Unlike Seram who's got the defensive capability of a kipper.

Yeesh don't remind me. You'd think Seram would be harder to hit. But atleast the barbarian gains a +1 to AC and reflex now.

One thing about the Swordmage is the AC bonus while nice does not add to the Reflex like a shield. I've been thinking about picking up a shield, and shield feats for brujo. In the end (if I get every single feat) my Reflex would be 2 higher and I'd get a +4 shield bonus, but my Swordmage bonus would drop to +1

Male Half Elf Paladin 6th

Looking at +1 to wisdom and dexterity for Leo however as for feat its either blade opportunist or healing hands let me know which would be okay.

Human

I'm happy for you to take either of those Leo.

My ability increase went to Intelligence and Strength. My Feat is Implement Expertise. I also replaced Chilling Blow with Flame Cyclone

Well I'm already rolling up a Deva Avenger in case Perigia gets offed. That is how cool it is.

Perigia is taking +1 Int and +1 Dex and I'm looking at surging flame for her feat. It might just make her reconsider fire spells.

For Rev

Spoiler:
I recently discovered the inspiring greatsword; can I change my trusty thundering sword for it?

Human

Commander Caine

Spoiler:

Yes, but I'd like this to happen in some flavourful way. You can't just wake up in the morning and find the sword has changed.

You, Cronin and Leo will need to go into a huddle and ask your deity nicely to permit you to alter the power to better aid your allies.(Torm or Tempus I believe). Rp this if possible. Fair?

For Rev

Spoiler:
Fair, yes.

Perigia also retrained Ray of Frost to Scorching Burst. Having learned how to chanel flames to overcome a Firesoul's natural resistance to fire, she is rethinking her philosophy.

After that last fight I'd like to swap valiant strike for bolstering strike if thats okay?

Human

You can do that as part of your revision at 4th level. It's fine.

Rev, two words "The Rivals" and some more words: I will be slow in posting this week. :D

Dark Archive

Male Lesbian Cyborg Bastard Child of Paizo 18

Rev, I know this is bad timing, but I am going to have to drop out. I got a promotion at work and I'm just not going to have the time I need to keep up. It's going to be a stretch to keep running my own games. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Human

David, I'm sorry to see you go, but it's entirely understandable. If you ever have time in the future to come back in, let me know - I'll miss Perigia.

Also - congratulations on the promotion!

Fabes, since I'm directing the thing, there is nothing you can tell me about the amount of life I won't have this week.

With which in mind folks, I will be around, but may be patchy. As Perigia is out for now, you are very short indeed on ranged attacks and have almost no area capability at all.

As you've just levelled up, we can do a couple of things.

(1) We can advertise for another player.
(2) Someone can re-jig themselves with multi-classing to take on some additional ranged/area powers.
(3) I can improvise.
(4) You come up with a cunning plan and throw it at me.

Apologies if this is considered intrusive, but I'd be happy to volunteer if Option 1 mentioned above is necessary - I've been reading PBP threads at random, since the two I am currently participating in seem to be proceeding quite slowly - and came away quite impressed with the quality!

Well if you're still looking for a game after this stop by my page. David just backed out there and I wouldn't mind adding a new player.

I'm glad you're enjoying reading our adventures and thank you for the offer. It's not intrusive at all and may be very helpful.

I'd like some more player feedback before making a call on this one, but would you just confirm a couple of things for me.

Firstly, the clear gap in this party is ranged and area cover. We lost a warlock very early on and now we're down a wizard. They can, if they box a little clever, probably find ways around that, but there's no denying more ranged firepower would be handy. Cronin is the only one left who can do much at a distance and clerical prayers tend to be a range 5. Otherwise we have -

Brujo - swordmage - some ranged capability, but not really his strong suit
Cronin - cleric - ranged, but max 5 for most useful stuff
Caine - warlord - melee specialist
Fairwind - ranger/mc rogue - primarily a mobile melee unit
Leo - paladin - melee specialist
Snaggletooth - rogue - brutal scoundrel build, so while he can make ranged attacks, he's far more effective in melee.

Essentially you would need to be happy to build and play a ranged specialist. How you do so, if you come in, would be entirely up to you of course.

Secondly, you'll probably have noticed my obsession with moving things along. If you feel that a daily posting requirement is going to be a problem, this is not the game for you.

Male Human Geek 10

Being the former new guy, I would not mind at all bringing in a new player. Wizard is still the way to go. We are area attack and range attack weak. Barring that, my idea for archer ranger is still a good one. That way, we have a ranged specialist that can peg guys from a distance. But that was when we had Perigia. Replacing the wizard should be the main priority in my opinion.

Snaggletooth is going to miss the nice fire-lady.

M Goliath Cleric 14 / Storm Speaker / Druid

I agree that we should recruit a controller.

Sorry I missed yesterday, will be heading to game thread soon to see what I did!

Any controller will be fine.
