Sundering with a missle weapon

General Discussion (Prerelease)

It doesn't say you can't. And it would "look" cool.

More like "Thrown" weapons. I have an almost epic archer and she understands that the arrow itself may not have enough "punch" to break blade. Of couerse, there may be circumstance that allow a missile to break some stuff -not only pierce it- I'll like tou read some examples if someone has any.

Scarab Sages

If you could, missile weapons deal half damage to objects, so it isn't very effective.

That dude with the demonic arm on Princess Mononoke was sundering stuff with arrows, rofl

That was totally 3pp splatbook! You can tell because he was also using Called Shot :)

"You can attempt to sunder an item held or worn by your

opponent as part of an attack action in place of a melee
attack
."

It doesn't say you can't sunder an item as a free action, either, but it's certainly implied. :-)

There is a Ranged Sunder feat in one of the "Complete" splatbooks.

You are correct, sir.

Ranged Sunder (as well as Ranged Disarm) was in Complete Warrior.

I let one of my players choose between Ranged Sunder and Ranged Disarm when he was attempting to deface a holy symbol in an evil clerics hand. I house-ruled a DEX based combat maneuver. Of course, since DC 15 is added to the CMB, the feat failed anyhow. It would have been cool though.

I want DEX based Combat Maneuvers in my PRPG!!!!!!

Check pg 81 of PFRPG Beta:

You are looking for Agile Maneuvers.

Right, but I mean I want combat maneuvers that use ranged attacks to accomplish things like disarm and sunder ... These would be DEX based combat maneuvers ... The ranger whose well-placed shot forces the hostage-taking villain to drop his dagger ... You know you want it too.

You're right, I do want this.

I mean, who hasn't wanted this since watching any Robin Hood movie? Okay, maybe not "Robin and Marian", that was more grim and gritty.

I wanna sunder some dude's alchemists' fire bottles.

Something occurred to me ... why not combine the effects of Agile Maneuvers into Weapon Finesse? I mean, your attacks are Dex based anyway, and that would allow your Combat Maneuvers (a type of attack) to use Dex as well. I don't think it would be overpowered.
