Agility: Incredible (36)
Strength: Poor (3)
Endurance: Typical (5)
Reason: Remarkable (26)
Intuition: Excellent (16)
Psyche: Remarkable (26)
Secondary Abilities
Health: 60
Karma: 68
Resources: Typical
Popularity: -5/0
Weakness: When his magnetism power is fully discharged activating his body transformation power it only allows him to assume that form for a limited time equal to the ranks in his Magnetism power which if exceeded leaves him temporarily incapacitated shortly after which he reverts back to normal and can’t use any of his powers until he has fully rested.
Powers:
1) Magnetic Energy Emission: Remarkable
Naturally generates a potent magnetic field which he can imbue to anything he touches which allows him to manipulate them as long as he’s within 8 areas range this includes being able to attract or repel them afterwards such as standing on a skateboard and not falling off it or literally dragging an automobile across the other side of the road to act as a shield. Can disrupt electrical devices and even deflect bullets if not surprised.
2) Body Transformation* (80) Incredible
When struck his magnetism power is discharged granting him temporary resistance to the damage he has just sustained this also causes his body to transform into a similar state as to what hit him which in the case of a physical attack grants him Strength, Endurance and Body Armour equal to the rank (if it exceeds his current ranking in those abilities) of the material that hit him to a maximum of this power’s rank. If an energy attack then he gains what qualities that attack form possesses.
Talents:
1) Thrown Weapons: due to his power he has become adept with throwing weapons especially as he can make them stick to a target rather than puncture them.
Contacts:
1) Scientific: Essentially his mother is a Biologist
2) Tribe: Essentially his family whom he has only recently learned are mutants
Background:
Fletcher had a normal upbringing his parents both came from large extended families and he had no idea what secrets they kept until the day he was visiting his mother at work and whilst waiting while she was finishing an experiment she was helping with.
The lab was raided by federal agents whom inadvertedly caused an explosion that caught Fletcher as he ran in to find his mother during the commotion, the blast turned him into an immobile statue and spent a number of hours before he recovered.
Taken to hospital for a check up the doctors discovered he was now a living magnetic generator imbuing everything he touched with a magnetic field, he was subsequently taken into protective custody and received a battery of tests which eventually discovered he could move anything he had imbued with his magnetic energy up to a limited range, but during an argument because they refused to tell him when he could go home he punched a brick wall and his entire body transformed granting him some measure of strength and resilience!
However there was a time limit involved and when he exceeded it he was left paralysed exactly like he was after the laboratory explosion, but the periods of paralysis were far shorter but left him powerless until he fully rested which revealed his magnetic field was the fuel source of his transformation power, which dictated how long he could remain in his transformed state.
He was eventually released into his mother’s care who immediately took steps to keep him out of government hands which is when Fletcher discovered the family’s secret.
Back at the turn of the century Fletcher’s great grandparents had worked for Nikolai Tesla during his many experiments and these resulted in their children developing supernatural abilities which they kept hidden however the subsequent wars resulted in a number of the family fighting on either side though most preferred careers in scientific or academic interests, but as with most things the family had both superheroes and supervillains in their number but there were never many in number.
Fletcher however came to the attention of a local hero who recruited him whilst he was visiting one of Fletcher’s uncles whom had retired from his superhero career back when said hero was only starting.
Fletcher’s family don’t like the idea of Fletcher’s new hobby but what Fletcher hasn’t told them is that he was threatened by a member of the family connected to the local criminal syndicate after he turned down his offer to join him.

I assuming this is what you meant.
Take care and all the best!

I'd add the pic but I can't get it to load up is there a way I can link a word file to one of these messages because I managed to turn it into a bitmap and add it to the file.

Spoiler:

Physical Form (Cyborg: Mechanical Body)

Chimera's "body" is a Very Flexible Array (VFA) of monitor panels and servos. When it's at rest, it looks like a collection of fire extinguisher cannisters with a round "head" featuring cameras, microphones, and a screen showing a hologram of Armando's face.

When it's in motion, the VFA expands into a mobile network of cables along which the other portions of his body zip around at blinding speed. While Chimera's body is almost impossible to hit, the structure of cables is slow to change position. If he wants to grab something more than a few feet away, Chimera typically builds a little "somnifactor" to retrieve or manipulate it.

Origin (Energy Exposure -- The Dream Dimension)

Armando Valente was a college student on a scientific team that sent a remote actor (a "waldo" through a mysterious rift in spacetime. Valente was guiding the waldo when an enormous energy surge fed back through the virtual-reality relays. The energies fried Valente's body below the neck, and fused his neural patterns in with the waldo. As the patterns started degrading, the team's surgeon transplanted his brain and upper spnal column into the waldo, keeping the mental patterns from degrading.

Armando can longer dream, himself. He has to enter and explore other people's dreams, now.

All the mechanical powers -- creating little machine servants, reshaping reality with the molding power -- are "somnifactors", strange mechanical golems that reflect the images he sees while visiting people's dreams.

Background:Even in college young Johnathon Flaag, Jon to his friends, won several awards for his probing and insightful story development style. He was seen as the student on the fast track to a job at one of the nations major publications, but then, he locked onto a story that was much larger than he was... Government funding into sociology and biology experiments on unwitting students, one nearly homicidal break-down of a student test subject during mid-terms, three deaths in as many months tied to information leakage... It was huge! It was the kind of story that could lock him in for a Pulitzer before he even graduated! Instead, it got him laughed out of the department when they wouldn't back him for 'fabricating such an outlandish smear of the university'.

A career broken before it even really began, Jon was further crushed by the mysterious death of his parents... an accident that to this day he believes was retribution against his attempt at breaking the story of a lifetime. Destitute, Jon was forced to live on the streets for a time. One night as he slept under a bridge he was grabbed, thrown in a trunk, and driven to a secret lab. Over the next week he was subjected to a battery of mental and physical tests and finally forced to undergo a treatment where he was strapped to a table and a group men wearing outlandish masks drilled a hole in his forehead and injected a black substance directly into his pineal gland. The subsance changed him... made him more susceptable to the light, made him feel at one with the cloying velvety darkness of night. It gave him access to amazing new abilities.

Shortly thereafter, Jon was taken to the outskirts of the city and told that he had been given a gift by the Scions of Argus, a society that was seeking the truth in all its forms. They told him he now had the powers to use to break open the casque of mystery that the creed of evil men use to hide themselves. And he realized that they were speaking the truth and wanted him to be good and true himself. Armed with the new weapons the Scions of Argus gave him, he rebuilt his life.

Johnathon Flaag now works for a conspiracy theory magazine called 'The Puppet Masters" searching down leads in his mundane life that he is can aid or topple in his secret life. Recently, a group called the Vigilantes has attracted his attention.

Costume: Johnny Illuminati is an averaged sized man wearing a smokey blue-grey spandex suit with black boots, belt, gloves and cape. On the chest is the emblem of a red right hand holding a pyramid with an eye floating on it (the classic Illuminati symbol). He wears a cowl that covers his lower face and head allowing a spray of silvery white hair to sweep about. A pair of dark shaded goggles cover his eyes and there is an odd black spot in the center of his forehead just above his brows.

I think I should point out that as long as Skater doesn't come into physical contact with Mechimera whether by touch or coming into contact with anything he has imbued with magnetism I assume he won't be effected by Skater's power but thats the province of the dm to decide.
Just thought I mention it in case that is his weakness.

Take care and all the best!

All ready...

Waiting for Radavel's character to start.

The Vigilantes have their headquarter "somewhere" out new proverbial, all of the members have full access to the place and computers of the place. Needless to say all the team has the full trust from the Dark Knight.

To enter the site, they need a show his eye to scanning, a voice test and writing a secret password with a 256 bit encriptment.

Remember that the place is under an abandoned building that belongs to Wayne Enterprises.

The classic way to meet is ordinary meetings every monday on night, then they evaluate their week work (solved cases, new metahuman activity detected, what could be done better) and receive new information and instructions from Batman. There are extraordinary meetings which are summoned by Batman or another member of the team when emergencies arrive. Having one ordinary meeting a week, leaves to the team members a lot of time to "solo" adventures.

Sometimes in coincidence two or three members reunite because of one of them arrive exactly when one or two others are at the place using the information network, resting, recovering or just meditating since the place is silent and quiet. I will prepare a map of the place so you can make an idea of how is it.

All the members of the team are required to make at least one night patrol per week (that is from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.) so they have all the necesary arrangements to this not interfere with their families and jobs.

Now is someone have questions...

I presume I'm the exception, having neither eyes nor voice. (And since I can just communicate with the machines anyways...)

If Bruce Wayne has allowed me into his dreams, I could have seen the security system he'd imagine, and I could have contructed it for the team.

I presume it's all right if I just send somnifactor drones out to patrol. With Feeble Endurance and no movement powers, it would take me a very long time to patrol New Proverbial.

--

By the way, how did New Proverbial get its name? Most "New X" places are named after established cities or areas. (New London, Connecticut is named after London, England, etc.)

Pong is quite happy to patrol along with anyone. He has enough wealth that he doesn't require a day job, and is uncomfortable with most people because of his appearence. Besides, he has no skills in investigation and willingly follows the lead of a partner.

Do we have team communicators? Or other team gear? (vehicles, surveillance systems, auto-doctors, etc)
Are we in the middle of any investigations?
Who are some of the metahumans we have been watching?
Is the team concerned more with metahuman crime or do we deal with everything?

As an introduction to my team-mates:

I am called Pong. I am rubbery and elastic, with a long reach. I can also become a bouncing ball. In that form, I am more mobile and resistent to blunt impact.
In my more normal form, I am somewhat unattractive. My skin appears aged and weather-worn, as if I had spent many years outdoors. (While I have a secret identity, I have allowed my team-mates to learn my real identity. I do not need to know theirs.)
Out of rubber form, I will answer either to Pong or to BoBo (a life long nickname).
I have some skill with financial matters, and some ability to repair devices.
I value the time spent with team members and am always the last to leave a team gathering.
Even when I'm not patroling the city, I watch over the neighborhood where I live.

Skater waves back.

"Hi, don't be so hard on yourself, me I'm looking to help I still attend school but I have a dislike of guns for obvious reasons and hope to be a valuable member of the team,"
Skater is often dressed in normal clothing but tends to use a facemask when with the team and uses his costume when going on patrol and prefers to keep to the shadows when he can.
Regularly trains using his abilities and prefers acrobatics to straight brawling, makes use of otherwise harmless items like aluminimum ball bearings which he can throw with alarming accuracy but can apparently make them stick to anything he hits and exhibit some form of control over them resembling telekinesis which he vehemently denies.

Excepting for certain members there's nothing to say they aren't carrying something allowing you to accompany them so you serve as a commmunicator link between them so when actually needed you're there once you can build a body nearby.

Interesting point about the name of the city, I wonder what other history it has.

Lucios Fox built helped Bruce to build the system. By the way can Mechimera solve a 256 bit encription password?

Please tell me what are somnifactors drones.

Proverbial was a small city that was located more than 200 years ago in the same place where today is New Proverbial. This city was created to be an example of education and scientific research, this is the city where is believed to be shown the first metahuman activity. A fire based being is told to be the responsible of a big fire that destroyed almost the whole city. Stories are confusing and contradictories so no historical document is totally exact. Most of the inhabitants of this city left, some by fear and some because they had nothing to start with.
Only a few families under the leadership of Charles Wayne (yes, Bruce's ancestor) stayed to rebuild the city, so they called it New Proverbial.

Yes we have comunicators. Soon you will have a map of our headquarter with all what we have inside.

We prefer dealing with local crime since we prefer having thinks on the bounds of our city, we prefer not to deal with federal crimes or national secutiry affairs since they attract FBI or CIA and our team want to keep low profile.

Lately we are investigating a new metahuman (apparently inoffensive) that has appeared on the streets.

No investigations on course right now. Our goal is to prevent crime that is the reason why we rarely get into long term investigation, if the victim was hurt we did not achieve our goal so we leave the authorities to solve and we help if we can. When the crime is commited by a metahuman we feel it is our responsibility to take him down fast and hard.

The Congress is now debating a new law to avoid metahuman use of powers to personal benefit and longer condemns to those who commit crimes with superpowers. Even though metahumans in the world are still individuals with dull or low power abilities. That is still we can't see the type of "Superman-against-Zod-destroying-Metropolis-with-their-fight" confrontation.

Male Induced Mutant (from Chemical Exposure)

You all know me as Jon Flaag, but my 'cape-name'is Johnny Illuminati. I'm a pale guy with slightly wild silvery-white hair and a smallish circular scar in the center of my forehead. When I'm not in uniform, I am usually wear light linen suits and a white fedora (think Panama Jack) and sunglasses. I'm not albino, but I'm not terribly far off. I generally just describe it as having 'sun allergies'

I am an avid conspiracy theorist and work at a magazine calle 'The Puppet Master". I was given my powers by a secret group called the Sons of Argus, who kidnapped me and put me through a battery of tests, including trephanating me (cutting a hole in my skull) and injecting some substance into my pineal gland (sometimes referred to as the Third Eye or Inner Eye). It gave me shadow powers and the ability to see inside peoples minds.

Although these tests were against my will, they have generally helped me out in life. I can't go back to legitimate journalism, but I can still look for the hidden truths out there.

I have staked out one large wall of the base and put up an old fashioned corkboard where I have maps and index cards full of color-coded pushpins and tabs to try to link varous theories up and a black board where I can put my ideas up for contemplation.

Mechimera might be able to work around encryption. (He has Incredible Communication with machines like that. He could simply ask the alarm system what its password is.) In case that fails, he has Matter Control (Molding) with a Monstrous amount of reality. He could turn the alarm system, perhaps most of the complex, into a solid block of graphite.

Mechamera can rework reality into the stuff of people's dreams. Every night, he moves through the dreams of people in New Proverbia. If a teen-ager has played a video game and has a nightmare of little mechanical robots crawling around, or of a Terminator-type android -- and if Mechimera has stumbled upon those dream images, he can Create and Animate the world around him into those robots, which he calls somnifactors.

Somnifactors, how long they last? do they need someone permanently be dreaming to exist?

So far as the rules say, they last indefinitely. since they're mechanical creations, let's say they can run for a day (or a single long-running combat) before they run out of power.

Mechimera needs to see someone else's dream images to get the inspiration for the machines, but he could use those images long afterwards when actually reshaping the materials around him to create a somnifactor.

In practical terms, I'm limiting the somnifactors to (a) common things people see in their dreams and nightmares, and (b) images from recent movies and TV shows.

For example, he might make (a) a water fountain, or (b) a robot shaped like Hellboy.

Well I rolled mine using the Ultimate Powers book, I believe there was an option to select one of the named characters in a Heroic Personae if you look in earlier posts.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

oh yeah; then just change the name; was thinking about a bit of a hybrid myself; a bit of Aquarian's powers mixed with someone like Luke Cage as Powerman or Nova but without the nova blast and substitute that for something else; cant find how Aquarians power worked in my book; have to look it up when I get home. Aquarian had a null feild to lower others powers and luke cage was mostly thuggy; strong and a think hide and go under the name Tribune; as tribune's powers in old Rome was to say no; or nuetralize laws or decrees, but could make none of his own so my character archtype would be a tank that can inhibit bad guys superpowers.

will look through my stuff and see what I can come up with; I have the complete encyclopedia of marvel characters for the game; is about 5 inches think hehe.

havent seen an update on the pbp thread in a bit; taking a break?

Scarab Sages

Male Human (by at least 25%)/Gargoyle Lovable Rogue 11th, Antiquarian 7th, Test Officer 6th

The ball is pretty much in Patricio's court, but he hasn't been on since the 23rd.

I noticed that most are you are pretty hand to hand combat oriented; am looking to change a bit to some range so we are bit versatile.

I have looked everwhere for the character creation rules; dont remember the thread; any help out there? I do remember the pick one made and make em your hero; might do that; I dont have much source material though; am looking at stuff on classicmarvel.com which has a lot of dc and marvel guys written up; might be a good resource for the gm too :)

Ok; I found my books; did you guys roll characters or just pick or how did you create stats; I dont remember where it was discussed...
Well I rolled mine using the Ultimate Powers book, I believe there was an option to select one of the named characters in a Heroic Personae if you look in earlier posts.

Try that I'm not very computer literate but that should help you find the page where those pdfs are located.

Try that for the heroic personaes, afraid thats the best I can do.

ok; well I made up a hero based off of Malekith the Accursed and used a couple magic users in the game for spells to give us some firepower since everyone else seemed a bit hand to hand though Malekith could get scrappy if needed; I dropped his agility one rank down from Monstrous to Amazing. I think he is pretty solid without being over the top up there with Superman or Wonderwoman and the like and I dropped his death and leader of the wild hunt abilities and turned his magic into clear cut spells. Malekith is a Asgardian Dark elf; and am calling my guy Maelidek the Mystic with Dark Elf Faerie magic; so requires dark or shadows to work and doesnt affect iron. It has the nice dark theme with the dark powers hero and bats and the like; so I do the occult stuff :)

so if that is cool; I can post it and am ready to join up in the fight against the bad guys :)

Valegrim, I hate to say it but I think this game is dead. Patricio hasn't posted since Aug 23.
But if you look over in 'Gamer Connection' there's a thread looking for folks interested in a supers game.

I assumed there was a hiatus in preparation for the 2nd episode.

I hope he's okay though

well, I hope it is not dead; been reading along and it hardly got started, I too hope he is ok; maybe he just got a new relationship or something taking up more time than expected or has computer problems or lost his internet or something.
