I'm sticking with D&D 3.5, and I wanted to thank the folks at Wizards for maintaining the tremendous 3.5 archive section of their website.
It would have been easy, and perhaps petty, of Wizards to close off all resources to "vintage editions". But they didn't.
So, here's a note of appreciation for Wizards' support to those of us who play Dungeons and Dragons, no mater which version.

Indeed. I am in the boat you are, and asked on EN World months back if they would be taking it down and Scott Rouse said no way. So we should have it accessable for quite a while.

I'll give the devil his due. I appreciate the 3.5 archive.
It is a godsend. Particularly the indices of monsters, classes, feats, etc. I downloaded them all and used macros to convert them into Microsoft Word tables.
With the monster index, I had to convert the CRs, which were expressed as fractions (e.g., "1/3") into decimal equivalents ("0.33"), but once I did, it made a sortable index I found invaluable to adventur design.
I use the core and prestige class indices as handy references for my campaign bibles, simply cropping out the classes I was disallowing or making notes about how they were modified in my homebrew.

I'll drink to that and go a step further. Thank you Wizards for giving us a damn good edition. Thank you for making it as open as you did. Thank you for support you gave it over its life.
At a certain level, I am still sad that I will not be continuing on with them, but as the Creative Juices guys (Wes and Boomer) recently said, "Just because it didn't happen doesn't mean that we can't remember it fondly." I choose to fondly remember how Wizards gave Paizo their blessing to make the true successor to 3.5.

Hi Vexer,
As a fellow 3.5 enthusiast without much free time on my hands.....
Is there any way you might be able to share your macro tweaked Word-converted WotC Indicies with those like me who are interested?

Here here. Perhaps the thing that Wizards has done best in regards to d20 gaming is it's online content. Lots of free stuff, most of it good quality, and archived for consideration despite no longer officially supporting the game. And giving us "printer friendly" options on all articles.
Thank you, WotC!

I downloaded everything anyway - the way personnel turns over there makes me wary of anything lasting.

Yes, I will thank them. I am even pleasantly surprised.
Now, some of the links are no longer working. Anyone has the 3.0 or 3.5 version of the Leanan Sidhe (Lhiannan Shee ?)
I'd really appreciate having it again available.
