I just checked the order page on here, and it comes to the same price, $124.09.

I'm sure Cosmo is aware of this though.

2 PFs
1 x P Com
2 x P Chron

Looks like I'm in for 23 bucks S&H to China.

Are all you people who have he prices going from the pre-dispach email, or from adding up what it should be?

I ask since I have the email, but it doesn't mention he campaign setting, which is on pre-order...

you are not seeing the Campaign setting because you are not a Chronicles Subscriber. Your pre-order of the Campaign setting will ship separately.

Yah, it's going to leave a mark. Glad I finally got my HSA up and running, being able to shuttle my medical costs over helps.

That said, I knew it was coming so I was able to brace for impact. James, please, we hope to keep your promise.

Kruelaid, bad news. Your Pathfinder stuff was denied its visa.

Get this!
In my side cart (i haven't recieved an e-mail or order confirmation in my Account yet) this is what it lists:
(With PF Advantage already factored in)

$42.49 PF Campaign Setting
$12.74 Crimson Throne Map Folio
$13.99 PF #12
$13.99 PF #13
$00.00 PF Companion: Second Darkness

$83.21 Subtotal
$00.00 S&H
-$10.39 S&H Discount

$98.26 Order Total

Now I failed Maths, but even I think something looks decidedly screwy with this equation!

Atleast this month you only pay for shipping once, unlike April and June where you may have paid for shipping twice.

Now I'm not complaining, but the point is, there's been more then one month were multiple products from the same subscription were shipped in that month, and shipped means BILLED if you subscribe.

Heh. I forgot, prolly because they didn't ship at the same time for me, and because I don't pay for my subscription. I just meant I don't think this will happen again, because of two small pieces of evidence. Paizo doesn't have the manpower to do this consistently, and the product schedule shows one PF for september.

Reason why Ill unforntually have to hold off both the beta and the campaign setting for this month... unless, of course, I can convince my wife (or my parents...) that since its father's day, I deserve a couple nice new books...

Dollar is around 1,6 reais right now, plus shipping. Prices go up to an equivalent of 160 dollars if I also get this two books

The bad thing is that I was considering getting 3 Planet Stories this in August too, and 3 more the following month...

The modules are the only part of the operation that are still behind, unfortunately, but even while the schedule currently shows two shipping in one month, since we're also transitioning to a bimonthly (one every other month) module production, there's a better chance we'll try to stretch the modules out so they don't do a 2-in-one-month thing. Which means that a module WILL double up with the first Pathfinder Companion, of course, which is also a "doubling" but not as obviously.

James, I have no problem with separate Subscriptions shipping at the same time... I expect that... If I subscribe to 4 different Subscriptions I will not be surprised if I get 4 products that month.

Next time you guys get behind.. can you try to work out your printing schedule so we don't get hit with multiple products of the same subscription in 1 month.

1 time is understandable... 4 times is a pattern..

If my understanding of the subscriptions is incorrect though.. would like to know now so I can re think them.

Anyway... besides this complaint...thanks for the great products!!! *just wish I had a group to use them ;-)*

The thing is... if we get behind, that means money that we budgeted for at the start of a year isn't coming in, which means that it's harder for us to pay salaries, freelancers, bills, and printing costs among other things. Getting behind schedule actually hurts Paizo A LOT, and the necessary evil of throwing in several months of 60 to 70 hour weeks and the resulting compressed release schedule HAD to happen in order for us to get to where we are today, which is on time with regular payments coming in.

If we fall behind again, you can expect to see a similar situation. Which is why I'm not interested in falling behind again. And if we DO fall behind again... the folks responsible might get sacked.

So yeah. Falling off schedule isn't really an option anymore.

This has been coming for a while. I thought it was well-understood that August would be a big month if only for the fact that the campaign setting was $50 compared to the cost of the typical Chronicles items.

The only thing I'm surprised about was the map folio coming out this month. Otherwise, I've been saving up my "fun money" for the last week weeks to make sure I'd have enough to cover my subscriptions for August.

Behind schedule or not, the subscriber forum community bares at least some responsibility for any "subscription bloat" that you see. For example, the Map Folios are a direct result of customer demands for reprinted poster maps from the AP's. A number of other products are also direct results of posters saying, "we want more, Paizo!"

We got more. And here we are complaining about it.

Just my two.

-Skeld

I'm glad I'm not a subscriber because with the cost of Paizo shipping and handling, the price are really too high!

For exemple, I just pre-order on Amazon the following for 62.14$CAD (with Free shipping) instead of 125.60$CAD with Paizo:
Pathfinder #13—Second Darkness Chapter 1: "Shadow in the Sky" (OGL)
Pathfinder Chronicles: Campaign Setting (OGL) Hardcover
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game (OGL) Beta Release Print Edition

I known that I won't have the free PDF... But twice the price for the same products is a little bit excessive... I love Paizo stuff, but I just can't understand why someone could want to pay 12$ of shipping and handling for each rpg book he want to order...

Ouch. Speaking as someone who's gone through "several months of 60 to 70 hour weeks," it can take a real toll.

My hat's off to everyone at Paizo for their efforts over the last year. They've not only started several product lines, fleshed out an entire campaign setting, readied their own RPG, and formed a tournament play organization, but consistently kept their quality high, or even improved...

The last thing I want to see is anyone over there getting sacked.

I don't know about anyone else, although I could guess, but I do it to support Paizo.

And it's not really $12 shipping for each book. I'm paying less than ten for five books.

And 12$ shipping cost per book is for Canadian non-subscriber... and it's pretty excessive...

It sounds like you could order more than one book at a time, and save on shipping as a result. $12 might just be the minimum for international postage. I doubt that if you bought two or three books at a time that the shipping would increase to $24 or $36 dollars, though perhaps so other Canadian pazionians would correct me.

Oh, and subscribers don't get a discount on postage.

That's why most subscribers bundle their shipments. I couldn't afford my subs if they shipped separately.

You are right about the saving... I stop before the checkout when I see the amount of money for shipping and handling...

Take a look at my order:
Pathfinder #13—Second Darkness Chapter 1: "Shadow in the Sky" $19.99
Pathfinder Chronicles: Campaign Setting (OGL) Hardcover $49.99
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game (OGL) Beta Release Print Edition $ 24.99

Subtotal (3 Items) $94.97
Shipping & Handling $36.18
Shipping & Handling Discount - $5.55
Order Total $125.60

Wait to ship these items together (less expensive)
Subtotal (3 Items) $94.97
Shipping & Handling $26.81
Order Total $121.78

But overall, I don't save much if I compare it to the price I just pay with Amazon (62.14$)... It's half the amount!
I was a PDF exclusive buyer until today (to save shipping cost)... Now I have another option more cost effective...

No it's right. Amazon sells everything 25-38% less then retail cost. The difference between ordering from Amazon and ordering from Paizo is..

1) You get the pdfs for free.
2) You get the products sooner (I assume Paizo ships their books to customers the same time they ship their books to distributors.)
3) Paizo makes more money off the direct sale.

Some some odd reason Amazon takes 6 to 8 weeks to deliver anything I order, while Paizo does the same in 2 to 4 weeks. And, somehow, Amazon is still more expensive on S&H

So, if its Paizo-made, im still with Paizo

It's his shipping charges that seem weird. If I'm reading Etrigan right, he's saying that when he goes to check out he's still showing an individual shipping charge for each item. And each shipping charge seems really high.

I know the Pathfinder books are cheaper through Amazon. Hell, everything else it, too. My bookshelves are a testament to that.
