When you created your pdf, Hawkins, am I correct in understanding that you did not create it with interactive form fields? If not, that is why Arknath (and I) are not seeing them. You can use Foxit PDF Editor to modify pdfs, so I am guessing that one versed in Foxit Fu would be able to use it to add the interactive fields. But alas, my Foxit Fu is weak, for I am but a novice. (Also, I believe that the Editor is only free on a trial basis, and they want you to eventually buy it. At least with Foxit Reader, you can save pdfs with fields of entered info, unlike expensive, big fat Acrobat.) By the way, thanks to you for your work, as well as Salama and Combert. Generous folks.
Correct, since I do not have Acrobat, I cannot (or do not know how to) create interactive fields. When I tried using Foxit Reader at home, it let me use a tool to write text over fields, but then put a large stamp with various mumbo-jumbo in the upper right-hand corner. So, at this time, I do not think that I can add interactive fields on my character sheet. Sorry.

Fantastic - thanks! This really is a great sheet. Great job!
Thanks! Happy to serve! =)
are these the first char sheets you have done, or have you created 3.5 sheets in the past? I alternate running games with someone and he is a pure 3.5 DM right now and I know I'd like to use your style of sheets in that game as well if you have made any before.
I've made one sheet for Rise of the Runelords and other one for Curse of the Crimson Throne (they're almost the same sheet). These sheets are 3.5, but design in them is a bit different than the one I have for Pathfinder rpg. I think I will update my 3.5 sheet to new look too somewhere in the future.

I updated my Alpha 3 sheet. It now has also class skill boxes (in addition to trained +3 boxes). I also added space to write your Favored class down.
I also made portrait box lighter, so it's easier to draw in it. I found out that it's possible to make a button in pdf, which allows you to import your own image in the portrait field. But it didn't work for me, and adobe says that the option doesn't work in Acrobat reader, only in professional. Anyway, I'll have to look in to this matter a little closer.
I didn't have time to update printer friendly version of the sheet, but here is the full version:
I know I mentioned it elsewhere, so I thought I'd let you know. My group really likes your sheet and one of my players (who does the Adobe thing for a living) modified your sheet (this past week in fact) to make it savable, added a bunch of drop-down boxes, made it so everything adds up automatically, and a bunch of other things that look really cool. If you want a copy of the modified sheet, please let me know. I can be reached at: jaye dot sonia at gmail dot com.
Cheers,
Jaye

Cool! I've meant to make the sheet calculate everything, but just haven't found time for it... Can you ask him if he's interested in making same thing for my Beta sheet once it's up? =)

Salama:
I love love love love love your sheets!!There's a thing I desperately want, and I don't know how difficult or possible it would be:
Four-to-a-page stat blocks similar to Animal/Familar/Mount/etc. I *love* polymorph spells, but have a terrible time doing the math on the fly, so I pre-statted all my regular ones... but one-per-page wasted a lot of paper.
Salama or Jaye:
I will send delicious homemade cookies* (shortbread is my speciality, but I can bake almost any cookie) to whomever** will make me the above page - extra cookies if the PDF is savable!
~Kiya
*Or my undying gratitude if you don't want cookies.
**Yes, I will send cookies to both, if they both make me one. :-)

Hm, isn't the math of polymorphing a lot easier in Pathfinder rpg? Well, maybe space for them is still useful. So here you go!
Polymorph page for alpha 3 sheet
Is that even near something you wanted? It's fillable and should also be savable, now that I finally figured out how to do it...
And while I was at it, I also made my original sheet savable, if someone needs it...

I do not know if the math of polymorphing is easier with Pathfinder, having never played "original" D&D... I am what is called a n00b, I believe. ~grin~ I have a very very patient GM, though, and I'm learning lots and having a BLAST.
I did all the math all by myself for those conversions, and only messed up one non-stacking-bonus-thing! I'm very proud of that.
Anyway - this is, in fact, EXACTLY and PRECISELY what I wanted!!!!
YAY!! Thank you SO MUCH!!
If you email me at kijeren at gmail dot com with a ship-to address, I will send delicious shortbread... ~checks calendar~ ...not later than Thursday. If you prefer something else, include that in your email.
Thank you again!!

Oh, I have never actually played PFRPG, so I don't even know what I'm talking about =). I should get to play it in few weeks, so I think I can add many missing things to my sheets after that...
Glad it was what you needed! I'm here to serve =).
Thank you for the offer, but your gratitude is more than enough. And I don't even dare to think what postal office would do to your delicious shortbread on it's way to Finland =).
Oh, and when you get to try it, tell me if the saving actually works. I don't have Acrobat reader installed, so I can't test it...
edit: Oops. Just noticed that somehow the hitpoint total text got buried under it's box on left page. I corrected it so you can download it again if you want...

Love the sheets Salama, and I know I would be interested in seeing your pathfinder 'booklet' for characters when you get done with it.

Edit: As an additional question(I know this isn't quite the right spot for it) are these the first char sheets you have done, or have you created 3.5 sheets in the past? I have a question as well, I have kind of been wanting to design some character sheets myself and I was wondering what is some good software that people are using for designing these sheets and making them so neat and uniform?

Best of best?
Adobe InDesign CS3, with a graphics editing program of your choice. GIMP is a good graphic editor, but if you want cream of the crop you'd wanted Adobe Photoshop CS3. The CS3 line of programs look nearly identical in use and interface, so it's easy to understand the UI.If you can't spend the money,
I'd suggest getting OpenOffice and using their PDF maker. It's almost as good as Adobe, you'll just have to put up with some formatting restrictions and less Adobe Reader support.

I use Adobe Photoshop for background graphics, Adobe Illustrator for boxes and stuff, and then lay them out in Adobe Indesign. Of course those are professional softwares, which means they're quite expensive.

As a suggestion for the next revision: Have you ever considered putting per-day checkboxes for racial and/or class skills? (Similar to spells and ammo)
Example: my sorc has Greater Ivis rounds/day. I've been penciling the invis into my cantrip checkyboxes (since I have infinite cantrips) so I can track how many I have left.
We also use the alternate metamagic rules which state that they're only usable 3/day, so I have those listed in my highest spell spaces.
I imagine these would also be useful for clerics (channels per day), and anyone else who has X/day stuff.
While I'm on "future revision" suggestions - perhaps allow more than three digits on the "misc modifiers" for skills? the line looks like it should allow closer to five...
Like I said - I'm coping fine. It was just a suggestion for future revisions. :-)

Hi Salama,
I've mentioned before how much I love your character sheets.
I do have one suggestion: can you make a vertical version? You know, an 8.5 X 11 one that will fit in a notebook? The current horrizontal version requires one to keep spinning the notebook in order to read it. It's much less awkward to keep your 3 ring notebook open left to right at the table instead of top to bottom, so to speak.
Does that make sense?

hehehe. I take my sheets out for each game, and often end up using them as "bookmarks" in my binder. Personally, I really really like the horizontal orientation, cause when we don't have a ton of space, they don't intrude into the playing area as much (being not in the notebook anyway.)
But I wholeheartedly acknowledge that I'm weird.

I haven't even thought that someone might like to keep their sheets in a notebook =). When I made my first sheet, I was only thinking how I could save some space in the gametable. Horizontal orientation does save a lot of space, and it can also be folded in a little booklet. BUT I do understand your point. When Beta comes out, I'll see what can I do about vertical version of my sheet. It needs a whole new layout, but I think I can make it work. Of course the horizontal version comes first 'cause layout is ready in that one =). But I'll see what I can do!

I have another version of the sheet for myself, where the pages are arranged so I can staple them together. In that version, for example, skills are on the left side while attributes and attacks are on the right side, that way the attributes are cover page and skills are back cover of the booklet. I've been thinking I could make that version available also when the Beta comes out...

Oh, also ... is there a way to make the Portrait box editable? I have the full version of Acrobat and was thinking it would be cool to insert a picture in that box ...
Ok, don't know if you still remember this one, but I've looked closer for that option now and yes, It's possible. I can make a button for my Beta sheet which allows you to import your own graphic to the portrait box. Unfortunately, it won't work for those who have Acrobat Reader only. I have another method for Reader users too, which does't include any button, but simply Reader's own snapshot and import tool functions...

Just curious in what happened to the additions Jason's player made, Salama? I'd figure that if calculations is where you would have gone, why do your updates not include this work? Just curious? Sometimes I forget variables and and automated sheet is helpful. You've done some very fine work with this. It's very attractive sheet.

I updated my sheet to Beta, but I just don't have the time to make it calculate things automatically, neither to try and copy them from earlier sheet with Jason's friends additions... Still, I don't have anything against it if someone wants to make my Beta sheet automatic. If Jason's friend would do it, I could share that one too =). Thanks!

I love this sheet, but I'm really not interested in retyping everything every time I level. Any chance of getting a savable version? And yeah, I know this thread is old, but...here's hoping...
