and again whats been said on that thread has been no worse than what Frank and K have said to people on other threads.
Totally ... although actually I don't know about K. But Frank sure plays hard.
Saying you can't stand to see someone get rough with Frank and you want to leave is well... well... kind of like whining and sayin you're not gonn play cuz someone told off the kid who gives everyone ginch-pulls.

Seriously, you guys need moderators. I'm not going to be on this board anymore because of this kind of stuff. (see link)

There's a pity. K was one of the more rational. While I think he's lost his temper a few times, he was one of those people who generally disagreed with me that I could carry on a conversation with.
Unfortunately, the problem children won't leave.

Wow, have we become an enabled society. I have the greatest respect for the Paizo staff who almost never intervene in thread.
There is a very simple way to deal with bad posts or bad posters - ignore them. Seriously. Nothing posted to an internet discussion forum is so world-shakingly important that it must be replied to, and no error or insult so grievous that it must be corrected. Just ignore the post/poster and move on, no matter how wrong they might be.
This is actually a well-established behavior modification technique called censuring (not to be confused with censoring, which is what the call for moderators amounts to). If someone raises a ruckus, but no-one notices... they stop. Maybe they try to start anohter ruckus elsewhere, but if that too is ignored, it does not become a ruckus.
So I urge people to become self-reliant, and not complain about what someone wrote on the internet (or better yet, start a new forum just to complain about it). Do not give in to the temptation that your own self is more important, and simply let it go by. Again, I thank the Paizo staff for their libertarian approach to moderation, and respect them for allowing we posters to grow and mature from our posts, responses and reactions.

We have some bad ju-ju going down in the Making Rogues Not Fighters Anymore thread.

Can we get an official to call for the "cool down."
Seriously?! Seems perfectly fine to me, perhaps a bit impassioned. It's not like it's the CR8 thread's name calling.

Totally. And enough with this ignore button stuff. Nobody is slinging obscenity or posting porn.
Just skip it.

-obscenity: some of the jokes Daigle or The Jade make can get very vulgar, whilst maintaining humour (usually).I agree this isn't usually worth ignoring them wholesale over.
-'Ahem'. 'The other topic you mentioned'. Nualia artwork thread.... Lilith.... [makes Will save] No. You're right. Of course there is nothing like that around. :D

Are you informing me that I am mistaken? I don't believe that obscene jokes and "slinging obscenity" (my exact words) are the same thing.
If my words were not clear, I was certainly not talking about Lilith's illustrations, nor was I talking about The Jade's phallic jokes... both of which I happen to find entertaining. If those offend you perhaps you should send an email to the webmaster. It's on the bottom of the page. Oh wait, that's customer service...

I would categorise the vulgar humour as a very low level form of slinging obscenity. *NOT* as a form of direct personal attack or insult though.

You can include making penis shaped pancakes into the category slinging obscenity, but that doesn't change how it is commonly used.

My girlfriend actually believes that if people live well, they get to come back as animals. Of course, she's a devoted Cthulhu cultist, so I guess there's a nice symmetry there.
Oh yeah, and let's mod the f#!! out of this joint. Starched collars and wool suits on the gentlemen and full petticoats on the ladies. Every post begins with "Pardon me, but I hope no one minds if I offer an opinion," and ends with "Thank you for taking the time to read this message."
Because when everyone here feels completely oppressed, stifled, and inhibited, then and only then will I have found my grim, bleak home.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message.

Actually, an ignore button is a fine way to outsource moderator headaches to the community at large. It tends to decrease flame wars and moderator heartburn. It's an intermediary step between nothing and the ban hammer. Better we regulate ourselves. This way K can ignore the people he wants while I can have my free marketplace of ideas. We all win.

Ack, double-post. May as well do something useful with it.
With the exception of a certain reptilian poster, who needs to spend much more time in smurf form, I do not think that these boards need moderation.EDIT: NOOOO! I used the 's' word.
Instead of the ban hammer and the thread lock, I would totally encourage moderators to do punitive icon shifts. They get to keep speaking AND it's funny.

Not your fault. I get a little cryptic sometimes. I was actually trying to poke some fun at some of the more grim aspects of my core. I don't think anyone would want to visit a site tailored to those. ;)

That 'offensive' artwork you speak of, is in the form of a link, to another site, for which you have to have an account, and for which you have to have deliberately removed your personal mature filter.
So if you sign up to a site (called 'DeviantArt', let's not forget), go through the tortuous process of getting your password, find a picture with a great big 'Do Not Look! For the Love of All That's Holy, Do Not Look! Won't Somebody Think of the Chiiiillllldrennnn!' sign on it, and then spend several more minutes trying to find out how to get a cheeky peep at it,...then you can hardly complain about being forcibly held down, while the content being injected into your screaming protesting eyes to corrupt your innocent shrieking brain.
That, and the fact it's not even dirty, anyway (yes, I checked. You got a problem with that?). It's beautiful, but it didn't have me frantically beating my meat, until I collapse as a spent husk. Come on, girl; you can do better than that!
[/end sarcasm]

Yes, I can. But artwork of that nature is not something I'd post on the interwebs. :P Nude != pornographic, in my opinion.
But as a counterpoint, I did provide a link to my personal website where it was not moderated by DeviantArt's mature filter, though I do believe I tagged it with the "NSFW" (as in "Not Safe for Work").
My apologies if anybody was offended by the link to the artwork.
