Mostly I'm thinking of PCGen/Code Monkey. I know Paizo is already making free data sets available for one program, but it's PC-only and I have a Mac. I'm still using the old 3.5 data sets I bought for PCGen before WotC pulled their license but would love to update to Pathfinder data sets once they're ready.

Hi Mosaic!
Good news!
PCGen added datasets based upon Paizo's Rise of the Rune Lords Players Guide and Chapter 1: Burnt Offerings during the next to latest beta release.
You can visit PCGen's website and download the latest beta today!

If I remember correctly, Paizo didn't make the RPGXplorer stuff, someone else did, Paizo is just helping get them out there. As for your mac problem, couldn't you just emulate windows to run RPGXplorer?

I was hoping for Maptools stuff! (because maptools is free and fun)
If I can figure out a way after I've made my adventures, maybe I will zip the campain file an put it up so other people will use it.
This may drive people batty however...seeing is everybody probably sets up these things radically different.

What about DM Genie?
This software hasn't seen a lot of updates from the designer in the last couple of months, but I find it infinitely useful, and easy to program in new additions.
If the designer were game, I'm sure a few willing volunteers from the boards could provide the extra content, and Janik would only need to do a minimum of coding to the core rules to produce a 'Pathfinder' version.

I'm interested in both PCGen and Maptools. We are using maptools to play "Rise of the Runelords" over the net. But I believe that maptools stuff (like characters and monster chips and maps) are more related to adventures than core books.
If Pathfinder is all OGL, us (the community) can make our own data sets. Maybe, asking for help and infrastructure (hosting, forums...) is wiser that asking Paizo to make more free content by their own.
Finally, I have no interested at all on Windows only software. Caming from the dark side of Linux here...

Correct. While we don't plan on directly creating content for tools like that, we're generally happy to allow the publishers of such tools to produce such content themselves. Interested publishers should contact Erik Mona.

RPGXplorer has announced that they're intending to support the PRPG.
Yeah, but both Rpgxplorer and Hero Lab, the other product that currently supports the Pathfinder datasets, are Windows only. (I haven't used RPGX, but use Hero Lab and find it a nifty product. HL works under Virtual PC/Parallels for the Mac, if that's any consolation.)
I guess the only alternative is to organise a group to enter the appropriate data in PCGen, for non virtual Mac and Linux support.

The PCGen team is working on supporting Pathfinder RPG as good as possible. It will however become necessary to upgrade to a more current version of PCGen as several code improvement will be necessary to support new rules mechanics in Pathfinder.

Thank you very much.
Javier.
The PCGen team is always happy about volunteers. If you are interested to help, check out our main mailing list at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pcgen/
