Druid Domains?

I don't know if this was intentional or not, but reading through the domains section in the first alpha test it appears that Druids might be gaining domain abilities.

I think it also said that druids will be choosing one domain from air, animal, earth, fire, water and plant.

...yeah, I guess it does say that. I didn't read that paragraph closely enough.

You didn't read close enough. Take a look at the paragraph before the one you quoted:

"Druids can choose one doman from the following list: air, animal, earth, fire, plant, or water."

What strikes me as interesting is the animal doman's 1st level ability seems to duplicate an animal companion... Is this how Pathfinder intends to handle the animal companion? By saying all standard druids have the animal domain, and that's where the companion comes from?

Would be cool if from now on, the druid would not start out with an animal companion, but only would do so if he took the Animal domain.

That's an interesting ID.

I also think they should have access to the Weather Domain as a choice as well. It fits the way the druid functions.
