I would rather just see a feat progression or something like that to make a fighter into a Hellknight, rather than making a new class for every badass thing that comes along.
Or substitution levels for the Blackguard prestige class because I can't imagine these guys being subtle or tricky enough to use poison or sneak attacks. Maybe instead they can issue a Command or Greater Command a few times a day, to reflect their absolute authority.
Or maybe something like the Ashawag Tamer from the Lamashtu write-up. Same base classes as in the core, just a bit of tailoring to fit the concept.

Hmmmm....did you guys know that the paladin of tyranny from Unearthed Arcana is OGL?
Yeah... And I'm not very impressed by the paladin of tyranny, to be frank. It's CERTAINLY not a Hellknight, which is more Lawful Neutral than anything else.
Of course, the main problem is that for so long, we haven't known if Pathfinder was going to switch to 4th edition or stick with 3.5 or what. Which meant that introducing crunch (such as prestige classes or alternate base classes or whatever) for parts of our campaign world before we made that decision was made was tricky and fraught with peril.
Now that we've decided to stick with 3.5 and eventually transition into the Pathfinder RPG in Aughust 2009, we know, for example, that prestige classes are going to remain a part of the world.
In any event, and if I'm remembering correctly, Rules For Hellknights will be appearing in the Hardcover Campaign Setting in August 2008.

I would actually expect hellknights to be a sort of Ranger/Paladin crossbreed, with 4+int skill points, Law-based paladin-like spellcasting, and defensive abilities that turn them into ""Ill just keep coming" nigh-unstoppable tanks, but with damage output equatable with the ranger. but they could just as easily be Ashwag Tamer-style variant fighters.

I seem to recall a random encounter list from one of the Pathfinder books saying that the average Hellknight was a 4th level Fighter.
However, after reading the awesome journals in RotRL it would seem they'd need a feat or something similar to the Hippogriff Rider guys that lets them call a Hellhound to assist in tracking down criminals.
Maybe some improved versions of the feat could call in bigger badder fiends.
