Sorry if this has been brought up before, but...
I'm switching my ROTRL campaign over to the new turning rules, and one of my players asked about how those rules interact with greater turning. Possibly blowing that many undead out of existence over a saving throw seems overpowered to me; anyone else given this any thought? Suggestions?

How about 1d6 healing/damage per level instead of every 2 levels for the greater turning?

Our group has decided that for Greater Turning, the undead saves vs the damage per normal, if it fails, it is destroyed. If it saves, then it take half damage per normal. This keeps Greater Turning from boosting the healing effect (or having to generate two totals, one for healing and one for damage to undead)

For my group, its from a Radiant Servant of Pelor. (PrC from Complete Divine)
Since the ability has, as has been noted above, been completely removed, I think your idea is a good one - though I would likely limit it to 1/day, or possibly have it scale with levels in the PrC. Alternatively, you could replace the ability with a boost to the sun's touch domain power - make it a ranged attack, increase the damage, or both.
