One could sacrifice the new skill gained at every even level for a certain amount of skill tricks. The only problem is how many skill tricks one gets.
I mean, giving up the 6th level new skill is the equivalent of gaining 9 skill points! That's the same as 4 and a half skill tricks. Then look at level 12 - Giving up that new skill is the same as giving up 15 skill points or 7 and a half skill tricks.
Personally, I'd give them the option to gain the cross class amount of skill points for a trade off in a respectable amount of skill tricks... though at higher levels, this still means that characters gain tons of skill tricks all at one.

Pretty much all your splatbook stuff is out the window, gang.
It doesn't have to be though. I'm pretty sure the mandate is "backwards compatible with 3.5 edition material" and while that means they can't outright use said skill tricks (as they are not open game content as you pointed out), it doesn't necessarily mean "stick your fingers in your ear and ignore them."

I dont think its out the window i would trade one slot for 2 tricks seems far. oh I dont own that books so not sure on how fair it is but have skimmed it once. trade em seems to make sence.
It's something that could be included "unofficially" based on community feedback (i.e. on the boards), but it's not something that can be included in the books themselves. So, really- the boards are the place to be discussing it. :)

Skill tricks are not OGL/SRD. Pathfinder not only doesn't need to be backwards compatible to skill tricks, it cannot be compatible with them.

Incorrect. Actually, if you read the big long-winded explanation of why they decided to release PRPG, it specifically mentions that now we WON'T have to throw all our 3.5 books out the window. They can't specifically mention non-OGL stuff, but they can and should leave the system compatible with them.

If I recall correctly there are also a couple feats that grant you skill tricks. With the additional feats characters get I think they might be able to afford spending a feat or two on the skill trick feats.
I have a few ideas for allowing for more tricks, but they don't fit into a different skill system without mentioning them (which I don't think is an option).
