I want to support Paizo

4th Edition

Dark Archive

First of all I'll apologize in advance for my bad english.
For me Paizo is the RPG publisher that is making the best products today.
I'm seeing things of 4E that I like and other that I don't like. I'm not here to argue if one edition is better than another.
I don't believe that Paizo's quality depends on which system they use.
So, I will support Paizo as far as they continue producing high quality adventures and supplements. I don't care if they are in 4E or 3.x or in other system.
I strongly believe that they will make their choice looking to all the facts: Company covinience, customer opinion, quality requierements, and so on. I hope they make such choice that allow me to keep buying their outstanding products for a long, long time.
I understand also to all these 4E edition lovers and haters that want Paizo to decide for their selected system because they also know that this system will have the best products. I only hope that this "edition war" don't force my favourite company to take a wrong decision.
They must look carefully to the new GSL, the new system, the state of the market and take the choice that allow them to carry on with the best RPG products ever.

Go On Paizo. You have all my support!

You're cool. No need to apologize for your English. If anyone gives you trouble for it let me know and I'll have my assassins eliminate them.

Yes, Paizo products are amazing and I love the community.

Finally, a civil thread in the 4e boards! :D

Yeah, elnopintan, Paizo really does some great work. In the end, whether we're playing 4e, 3rd edition, or 1st edition, it's the feel of the game that counts, and I really think the fantastic writers here at Paizo have their hearts (and pens) in the right place (except possibly Nicolas Logue... his is about three inches further left than normal. I don't know why.).

Nic's pen is three inches further left than normal? He must be marking up desks something awful.

I'd buy Paizo stock if I knew how much.

Hmm, I just got this horrible image of Nic carving all sorts of dark runes into his desk... the kind that would be considered too evil for the Book of Vile Darkness

To the OP: As someone else stated, you don't have to apologize for your English. I think many of us have seen alot worse. Otherwise, your sentiments, I think, hit the nail on the head. I think most people here recognize Paizo as being a great company with some of the best products in the business. If the do decide to go 4E, then it will only be to 4E's benefit.

To Kruelaid: When did you change you're avatar? Very nice.

This is the second change in the last week.

You're a radical man. A complete radical. Embrace the chaos. And good morning.

I know. But seeing the last 4E threads I thought that it was the moment to say it more explicitly.

It's refreshing that you don't think we're all jerks because a few dudes love rattling their swords.

Yes, including some native speakers (writers). While I´m at it: it would be nice if folks generally try to make their posts readable by using the rules for writing (like usage of capitals, interpunction)and grammar correctly. For a non-native speaker, ignoring these rules can make posts hard to read. I tend to ignore badly-written posts, and I think folks posting here want their posts to be read - otherwise, what is the point?

I´ve seen much worse on other boards, but it happens here as well.

I miss Santa. This is nice too, though.

They aren't publicly traded, so really you can't. The best you can do is buy their products (which is generally better than buying their stock/LLC interests as far as they are concerned).

Paizo sells their stock? Where can I buy some?

I for some reason have the image of him carving nude figures all over his desk.

I echo this. I don't play any edition of Wizards D&D anymore (and I'm not planning on it - but its interesting to watch all the fireworks), and I still buy a ton of Paizo products, because they're simply the best out there. (And as a bonus, their products are mostly story, not mechanics, so they're dead easy to convert.)

You don't have to be publicly traded to sell stock... there's just very little point to owning stock in a closely held firm that doesn't pay dividends. The company is not obligated to repurchase your shares from you, and not many people would want to buy your shares should you decide to sell them. Buying some stock would be like giving Paizo a loan for an indefinite period with no set interest rate and no requirement for repayment.

If you really want to help, just buy some stuff like Sebastian said.

Actually, my "pen" (though I like to think of it as one of those industrial strength Jolt cans) is about 8 inches to the left of my "desk."

Damnit, I just keep proving that my heart isn't in the right place. ;-)

Lone Shark Games

And here I was expecting a reference to your 'pen' collection and how they're arranged in jars around your workspace. For inspiration, and all that.

Don't let Logue fool you; he doesn't use pens. He writes his manuscripts using the blood of those who oppose him.

I heard he once shot a man just for snoring too loud...

Well, in all fairness, the man was snoring AT Logue. Every passenger on that subway car learned a quick lesson . . . you never, EVER, snore at Logue.

Again, my condolences to that snoring man's family.

Back to OP:

Totally agree. Personally I intend to do my best to support Paizo whatever their decision on 4th Ed. because they do amazingly good products and care about their customers.

Regarding all the 4th ed. thread furore, I must admit I've found it all somewhat amusing to watch (with the odd bit of participation)! Life's too short to take this sort of thing seriously. My personal motto is "live and let live, oh and wind a few up on the way through!"
