As you may have noticed, we've been making some changes to our Pathfinder product line, including the introduction of the Pathfinder Companion and the rebranding of GameMastery Modules to Pathfinder Modules.
We've also re-evaluated the Pathfinder Chronicles line, which had previously been defined as sort of a catch-all for everything that wasn't an Adventure Path. In our current vision, the Chronicles line is now focused on non-adventure products that build the Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting.
This means that the Item Cards don't fit in the Chronicles line anymore; instead, they'll be in the Pathfinder Accessories line. As a result, Item Cards will no longer be sent as part of the Pathfinder Chronicles subscription—if you'd like the Item Card sets, you'll need to preorder them separately.

I pour a cold beverage in anticipation of Kruelaid's inevitable arrival. :D Glad it worked out for ya buddy. You stuck to your guns and it paid off.
Lol.. it might be awhile before we see Kruelaid.. he's probably running down a street somewhere naked proclaiming victory. :)

Sweet. That is awesome. Having said that I got a free pack of card with my last subscription and I kind of like them. Ohh well that's just the way it goes I guess.
You can still get the item cards if you want, they just won't be ordered automatically for you anymore. No big deal.
I still want the AP tie-in cards, so will we be seeing an Acessories subscription?
We campaigned to get them out of Chronicles, start one up for an Accessories subscription. :)

Hehehehe, yea, you are probably right.

It looks like the Harrow Deck is still part of the Chronicles line. I imagine this is because it is a game mechanic that is incorporated in the AP.
Great move!
Do we assume the Harrow Deck remains in the current subscriptions though? I notic it's still there in the online shop?
Thanks,
Lewis.

Isn't Kruelaid in China? I'm sure he'll proclaim victory in the streets, but he'll have to wake up first.
Oh sure.. inject reality into this.

Mmmm.... that's kind of tricky, considering the "accessories" line currently contains things like T-shirts and such, and new additions will be really unpredictable in terms of product type, frequency, and pricing.

I'll just cope with remembering to order an extra item deck twice a year, then. I don't want to pile anything else on Gary, especially if I'd be the only one using it.

Drinks for everyone! Well as many as I can afford after I add yet another subscription to my account.
BTW, I just finished teaching class. Its 10:30 AM here at the time of this post.
In addition, I formally apologize for any posts I wrote that implied or even outright stated that Paizo doesn't listen or that they are not using common sense in their bundling. James, Vic, you two in particular.
And to the brains behind this, be it one person or a whole group of you, thank you.

I'm going to be cynical and say that this decision has come "too late" in that the harrow decks were ordered and probably printing already based on subscribers and that's why it's still in the subscription. :)

~laughter~ Poor Mike. Always getting picked on. ~WEG~ However, he does need to change the color of his lipstick. It just clashes with his dress.

I'm still interested to see what happens with the Map Folio. Sebastian has grumbled about it and I'm totally in agreement with him on that one. We already have those maps.
And it bothers me that the poster maps are tied to something that I already have.
You can never have enough maps. God, I love maps. I mean, I really do. But at least they make snese for the subscription.

Map folios do seem to be accessories.. especially for a product that's "done" but I can live with them.. atleast they're something most of us would use.
You didn't subscribe yet. :)

Photoshopped slanderous lies from the competition. Politics is dirty, you know.
Also, neither of us will be eligible for the presidency this year. Catch us in '12, though. :D

SirUrza wrote:Yeah there is.. you get 15%.Not as a result of subscribing though. (Well, as a result of subscribing to Pathfinder, not Chronicles.)
Actually, you DO get the 15% discount with the Chronicles subscription. It'll kick in on items shipped after the 10th of March.
Here is the quote from the offer:
Beginning March 10, 2008, Pathfinder subscribers will receive the Pathfinder Advantage: 15% off of suggested retail price of all products on paizo.com (with the exception of non-Paizo PDFs). This 15% discount even applies to our GameMastery Modules and Pathfinder Chronicles subscriptions, which aren't normally discounted! (If you already subscribe to these products, you need do nothing—appropriate discounts will be applied automatically.) With the Pathfinder Advantage, you can save on over 20,000 gaming products in the paizo.com store.
There is some qualifiers:
Special Notes:
- The Pathfinder Advantage does not stack with other subscription or sale discounts. This means that if a product is already on sale for 10% off of suggested retail, you'll get an extra 5% off. (Of course, if a product is already on sale for 50% off, you'll still get 50% off.)
- To qualify for the Pathfinder Advantage, the most recent volume of Pathfinder must have been shipped to you, or must be waiting to ship with your other subscription products.
- The Pathfinder Advantage discount will automatically be applied to all new paizo.com orders as long as you remain an active subscriber.

So once Gary sorts out combining items with subscriptions, I won't even notice the difference.
This is exactly the reason I would want the item cards to be included. There's almost no chance now that I will buy the item cards, where before they would have just been a neat toy that came with my other subs. It's like getting a Grimace helicopter in a happy meal. Doesn't fill you up but it sure is fun to play with the propeller.
P.S. Nothing can kill the Grimace.

That discount is not triggered by a Chronicles subscription. It is triggered by the Pathfinder subscription. I get the same discount ordering the item cards separately.
