I am interested in running a Omni setting Afterlife style game in DnD3.5, set in my own home brewed City of Redemption, Megapolis of Churches, and the horrid affairs within.
If you are interested, please post. I am looking for both players who can post once a day (within reason) and people that I'm not currently Dming for (that means you shadows of sharn people).
I'm looking forward to meeting some new personalities and persona and playing a game of hopefully crazy proportions.
I am currently running Logos's Shadows of Sharn, and this game will be much more lighthearted, and as well vanilla.
System: Vanilla DnD 3.5 (The D20srd will be the final arbitor of questions, however we all know thats an illusion as i control the Dc's and modifiers and results). No houserules.
Setting: Omnisetting, Characters from all settings are accepted, However due to the higher starting level, I request characters that died in other games. Allowed Books = Core 3 + One 3.5 Campeign Setting (if someone wanted to pick a country from the Rpg superstar I wouldn't cry but no particular favours will be forthcoming)
Character Creation: Please Create ECL 6 Characters,No undead. (I'm willing to accept most cohort level adjustments as is, Ie Blink Dogs = Lvladjustment 2)
Items: Please Pick out the 10,000 gp of interesting kit as well as a single signature item of no particular price limit[/b]. This signature item cannot be used by other characters, but the other kit will be rewarded randomly. You'll be getting your kit relatively quickly.
For Characters from weird setting's (Spelljammer, Ravenloft and Darksun I'm looking at you) Darksun Character will use the 3.5 conversion found in Dungeons and Dragon magazine at the appropriate level adjustment. Spelljammer shouldn't be a problem, but this adventure will be planet bound ( No Phlogestorin for you!)so plan accordingly, Ravenloft characters are fine but your asking for more of the same. If your campaign setting has some strange abilities that don't take into account a LA, let me know and we'll work something out.
The games gonna be a little surreal, but its a fantasy game so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
If people were really interested in a adventure path that wouldn't completely crash with my sensibilities feel free to suggest, I have the rise of the rune lords but i haven't really thought how homebrew and it would mesh. That said I plan on being Land and Plane bound If you go to other planes and campeign settings it will be on the Dm's whim.
If your interested in what i run a game like check out Logos's Shadows of Sharn but keep in mind i intend for this game to be a whole lot more lighthearted and vanilla.

I'm interested and I post frequently. Let me try to think of a character concept though. Sounds like we are looking for the out-of-the-ordinary but I tend to try to give depth to very ordinary characters.
well theirs a difference between an ordinary character and an ordinary person in the world.
I'm a big subscriber to that whole, the Pc's are special, becauses lets face it, if the Pc's aren't there's not a whole lot of incentitve to play them is there?
So aside from that objection (If you try to play farmer john the level 0 I'm gonna say no). Feel Free, I always rather enjoyed halflings not for crazy kender antics but for my (quite possible self conceived) idea of their role of the everyday man, not as strong, tall as the others, a little pudgy (otherwise according to dnd3.5 they should weigh even less than they do), but fearless and capable.

I surpose the biggest complement that one can have in pbp is to have someone willing to play with you again.
Regarding the "signature Item" There is no price limit upon this, so please pick kewl over all powerful, and if you could keep away from the artifacts, or otherwise epic things it would be great ( Belt of hellball and quicked storm of reconning is a no no). Other than that I'm also going to say no to custom items unless they are exceedingly vanilla (Making your own weapon armour or shield is fine, but slot-less trinkets of Use Magic Device, not so much.
It would be really nice if you all picked something of about the same value. (I was thinking of a medium or major magic item just depending on what you want to do).
I am currently familurizing myself with arcanis and a few other settings, but to clarify I mean omni as in ; characters from all settings will be present , but none will be at home. Choose accordingly.

I'm considering the Core 3 to consist of the d20srd, excluding the epic, Divine, and variant rules ( I think for obvious reasons )that means my core 3 are more like a core 4 but hey there you go, tyrant dm in progress.
If you want the reasonable answer its that A> Frenzied Berserker is a problem because the reasonable thing to do with someone who spastically attacks you (Their Teammates) is to put an axe in their head in the middle of the night. In addition, its essentially adding nothing to the class that barbarian hasn't. Just my 2 cents
Why No Monkey grip if I can help it, well first of all, I'm not sure its worth the feat, second of all its not on the list, third of all it A> Its wording is confusing (Not saying that you are going to do it wrong, merely that i have seen lots of people do it wrong) , and B> Interfaces with one of my least favorite aspects of the rules (weapons sizing) and C> requires me to place off size weapons if you are going to keep up.
The Suggested replacement for each is more levels in barb, and power attack the feat.

Also the City itself is overwhelmingly human and exceedingly neutral in the sense that "I'm not committed to any alignment" sense. Buerocratic may be a better word for its alignment.

When I said no variant rules, I mean those found under the section entitled variant in the d20srd, such as the alternate class features found in unearthed arcana and such.

He drinks heavily; lies through his yellowed teeth; borrows, begs, and steals whatever he needs; smokes constantly; insults women; and punctuates every successful bluff check with "It's all about charisma baby!".
He will heal you when you need healing but not without asking "What are you going to do for me?" or "What am I your bloody field medic?"
Logos, how about spell selection? I only found featherfall as the only 1st level spell in the PHB that only requires V. The rest require either V & S or V, S & M.
Please allow a wider spell selection, like races of dragon and spell compendium.
I'm not sure there is a difference between CE and psycopath to tell you the truth.
If you do bad things and get caught, you will probably be beaten up and get your stuff taken by people who do worst things.
if you do very bad things and get caught, you will probably be beaten up and be put on mock trial before your heart is sacrificed to the great haiwaian god of the volcano, just seconds before your body is also dropped in.
Evil is evil, sure the merchant may be evil, but thats because he sent his mother to debtors prisson to get enough cash to open the place, and that was after he offloaded his debts onto her with the promise that "He changed"
if you are just looking for Callous , Self Interested , or Greedy but are willing to stop before moms, children, and such you are probbaly only neutral.
As for the spells,
If someone else second's the spell/power request I will come up with someway of getting more spells.

also i really like the vanilla style and am not really fussed if we get another book of spells or not.
also about alignment the chaotic part is essential i like braking the rules for my own gain or helping people it doesnt matter, the evil is i enjoy killing whenever i can, that need can genarly be fullfilled by killing the bad guys anyways and i dont mind torturing people etc... chaotic psychopath is i kill everything just because i can.
at any rate that was all for my last character i think for this caster type i'll be starting at true nuetral and if GM allows it just see where me roleplaying takes me.

i dont know is 75,000g is too much but i dont really think this should cost 75,000g its not THAT good.
also HP roll. (2d4 2=6, 3d8 2=15) is this right?... i know i havnt added 1st lvl at max HD which is 4+con = 6. which puts me at 27 total... i'm just not sure if i rolled this right on invis castle.
The Free Item of value is fine, I'm just asking everyone else to aim for close to that number.

Edit and sidebar: also call this a case of too many psycology majors in close proximity to me, but i always thought that psycopaths had really defined parts where they would go all stabby on people, and everywhere else they existed relatively well with society. Of course I also know that the term psycopath is not quite what the science talks about, but consider ficitonal hannible lector. he's a psycopath (Thinks hes better than everyone else, no remorse for his actions etc )but he lived in society apparently well adjusted.
I think that the better term for CE would be criminally insane, and that's when you start getting into the issues of justifying why the party is not axing you in the night. Paranoia, Delusions, Craziness might keep you alive a while but eventually its the end for you. Its why batman and the joker don't adventure together.

Sorry it took so long to post but I wanted to come up with a funky item which was both balanced and had a cool effect. If this seems too powerful, any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated.

As the wearer pushes his mind beyond their limits, the crown begins to crackle with energy, small sparks of psychcic energy flying between the prongs faster and more violently until its reserve breaks and floods its user with power.
When worn by a Wilder, each point of wild surge has a cumulative 5% chance of activating the crown, causing the wild surge value to be doubled and the manifester to be affected by Psychic Ennervation . The excess power is automatically used to augment the power being manifested. In the case of a power having more than one option for augments, the points are assigned randomly.
After the Powersurge Diadem activates, it loses its charge and the activation chance resets to 0.
