Hey, just to let everybody know---I got a house full of sickies
(everybody getting colds except me--I guess I'm that high level a Paladin of Snark with my chaotic snarky alignment to where I don't get colds any more) so I prolly won't be my usual mega-posting self tonite...
huzzah!

Hey, Heathy, I had a dream about you last night. I dreamt you came and visited the UK and showed up with your family round at my (old, where I used to live with my parents) house. I was expecting some wild, wacky American dude and you turned out to be a reserved English guy called Ashley. You were a huge disappointment. Your wife was nice, though.

I am pretty reserved.
Not all that English though. I guess the internet draws out all my wildness.
Yeah, everybody getting this freaking cold. Wife thought the youngest one was getting a fever, but went to the Doctor and no ear or sinus infection yet. She'll prolly get one by Saturday; hope not though.

Hey Heathy, on the Basement wall thing....
Alot of real life castles used the same construction on a much larger scale for their walls so I found it totally believable to see that in a big old house like that. My old basement was 2 layers of brick with a thick coat of morter (1-1&1/2" thick) between them, so that even sounds similar. My old house was 1820s era.
I actually thought you had researched that or read it somewhere. Good job.

If you mean by research "pulled it completely out of my arse on the spot," then yes, it was thoroughly reachsearched. ;)
I saw the deal about castles somewhere, can't remember. My granpappy dug a basement out from under his house. Just drew some stuff on a piece of paper and did it. I wouldn't even try something like that. I know myself too well, and that whole "buried alive" motif? I find it sucky.

Thanks! I think I'm through the worst. My 2nd got it, then my 3rd got it, then my 1st. The older two...meh, it was gone in two days, but the little one my wife thought had a fever yesterday, but she didn't have an ear or sinus infection and she's doing better today.
It's a pretty mild cold as far as colds go, just the littleist one...they get ear infections real easy.

Naah...it's kinda seen. I just gotta be reserved so people can get used to me first.

Hey Fakey,
Patrick says he's a little too busy these days so it's your game if you want it.
We're using second level PFRPG Alpha with the p11 racial hit point bonus.
They're on the coast of the scrub desert north of Katheer in Qadira.
They were fortuitously shipwrecked after getting nabbed by a slaver named Gravid Book, who just right now is down the beach a bit getting his s##$ together after losing his beloved Intractable.
You can probably go from there. Gazetteer in a few more days I hope, I kind of need it before they get to Katheer, if in fact that's where they decide to go.
Just so you know, one of the characters is on a mission from god(dess) to kill Book. Everyone else probably hates him.
This message is double posted.
Oh yeah, Arctaris said the game was a little fast for him, but I'd say it's about half of Heathy's pace.
=)

Sell that one to Sinister Adventures, Damn that was cool! Yeah really got a kick out of the whole Orcus!
Yeah, for sure - gotta tell Nick about that one. I think that idea deserves a cameo in an Indulgence or something.

Reading this killed me...LMAOFOFL

He must die!
So true funny how it seems
Always in time, but never in line for dreams.Head over heels when toe to toe.
This is the sound of my soul,
This is the sound
I bought a ticket to the world,
But now I've come back again
Why do I find it hard to write the next line?
Oh I want the truth to be said
Huh huh huh hu-uh huh
I know this much is true
Huh huh huh hu-uh huh
I know this much is true.
With a thrill in my head and a pill on my tongue
Dissolve the nerves that just begun
Listening to Marvin (all night long)
This is the sound of my soul,
This is the sound...
Always slipping from my hands,
Sets a time of it's own
Take your seaside arms and write the next line
Oh I want the truth to be known
Huh huh huh hu-uh huh
I know this much is true
Huh huh huh hu-uh huh
I know this much is true
I bought a ticket to the world,
But now I've come back again
Why do I find it hard to write the next line?
Oh I want the truth to be said
Huh huh huh hu-uh huh
I know this much is true
Huh huh huh hu-uh huh
I know this much is true
This much is true
I know, I know, I know this much is true

Created a character as close to RL me as I could using random ability scores and the choices available, just for s*@~s and giggles.
I made a few characters the same way this morning. I was thinking Big Lebowski all the way.
Unfortunately, I don't think I'd be great in a zombie survival situation...
Ya that's a problem with regular joe PCs but it could still be fun, and I've a few solutions running through my head, in particular handing out some bonus feats and skills for actually doing something.
For example if you have no weapon familiarity but you score a nice shottie at the gun shop you get the familiarity for free after a few encounters. If you stick with the weapon for a while you get weapon focus....
In some ways I think the d20 system, with its inherent randomness suits the idea of a bunch of regular Joes just sort of picking up weapons and getting into the fray. The same with skills, some guy who works in a coffee shop who has some computer skills... but when he applies them its really hit and miss.
It's not really a long term campaign idea but it could really be a riot for maybe 4-6 mos. of pbp.
Survival would depend on good ideas and killin' zombies. Wits and one liners.

Actually, if I survived the initial wave (which would probably be down to dumb luck and the fact that I generally try to avoid freaks whether they’re zombies or not), I’d probably do ok, but only by being cautious to the point of boring. I’d have to bring something else to a game to make it interesting.
