Welcome! We have ten people now so we are ready to start. I have today off so I'm going to go over all the character sheets a little more closly to see if everything looks good and if any changes are needed to be made. After that I will break everyone into their groups and then the adventure starts! I talked a friend into playing last night at the club but he might not get his character sheet done until tomorrow. So we have a rogue now! I'll be home all day so any questions you might have can be answered!

Hey Zoom, great to be out of 'connection' and into 'discussion'. Couple of things that I'm not clear on:

* Do we get a bonus feat from the RotRL players guide?
* Have we got a decent mix of classes to make two good groups?

I ask the second question because I was playing around with Orelan's concept last night, and I could easily re-imagine him as either a cleric or a bard... if they'd fit better.

Male Dwarf Wizard (transmuter) 1

Assuming we do have the making of two groups, have you given any thought to the make up of those groups?

Liberty's Edge

Go ahead and take a bonus feat from the RoRL players guide!
I think we will have a good mix, one more person just showed interest so hopefully he can add to the party strenth.
Orelan-If you want a bard would be cool, but its up to you, I want everyone to have fun with their ideas they came up with.

Cool, that Varisian tattooist gets some more custom.

I'll hold fire on changing class until we'vee got the groups split. Looks like we've got a cleric, a paladin, and a favored soul who can all heal (or heel!) so far.

Wait and see, wait and see :)

Liberty's Edge

We have a guy creating a charcter tonight over in the gamer connection area and this is what he is thinking
Varisian Favored Soul(Shelyn)/Sorcerer(Enchantment)/Mystic Theurge
Dwarven Cleric (Torag, Crafting/Magic item creation)
Chelaxian Wizard (Conjurer or Necromancer)
Halfling Rogue/Sorcerer/Arcane trickster

Any thoughts from the group on what we need?

Male Human Favoured Soul 1

still need to know if exalted fears are cool. namely "sacred vow" and "vow of nonviolence"

otherwise Jinx is good to go

Toranaga is ready for inspection.

Female Human Fighter

Magatha is essentially ready to go. However I need to find out if starting with a wagon is fine. If not, i have about 200g worth of gear to reassign.

Liberty's Edge

Jinx-go ahead and take the feats. It should make for some fun roleplaying.

Magatha- Remember you were in a dungeon, then went through a portal to another world so if you want the horse and wagon they would still be back on Golarion and I can safely say its going to be awhile before you get back! You might want to save your money for something else!

All-we have 11 players! I am still going over character sheets and working on splitting into two groups should be done soon and then we just have to wait a bit for the last two to finish their characters, we should be able to start sometime tomorrow!

Male Human Rogue/2 Paladin/2

Artemis is ready to go.
Just remember, even though he is a Rogue (at first), he is NOT a thief and has none of the normal Rogue skills (DD, OL, SoH, etc...).

Dron is ready, once I take the extra feat and change his background to suit that.

From what I've seen so far, over 2 groups we are really rogue-lite.

Halfling arcane trickster sounds dam fine.

Liberty's Edge

I've gone over all the character sheets and the all look great! Just a few things, make sure you all have your character's appearance discriptions done. Any beginging money you spent of food you can have back, no one has any food with them to start! You only have water at this point!
Orelan-I calculated you ability scores and came up with 30 pts instead of the 28 point buy in.
Magatha-let me know what you decided about the horse and wagon as mentioned in my previous post.

I am now working on the begining intro and waiting for the other two to post their characters. I have the groups in mind but again I am waiting, hopefully we can start tomorrow!!!

Bring on tomorrow!

Base stats as here at IC: STR 12, DEX 14, CON 12, INT 12, WIS 10, CHA 15 ; +2 DEX - 2 CON, gives Orelan. Remember he has the pointy ears and is nearly 200...

If I messed up then oops, but seems ok to me.

Liberty's Edge

Orelan- Ahh sorry about that, after looking at all the human character's I totally overlooked the elven bonus. Well then you are good to go!

All good, all good. Just make sure there's some clumped enemies to burn with the fires, and I'm happy. Or one to stick with the rapier - its of a goodly length, fit to extend through a kobold throat.

Ah, till tomorrow.

Female Human Fighter

Ok. I am rejigging my gear with that in mind. should be done momentarily.

Male Human Rogue/2 Paladin/2

STR 13, DEX 14, CON 10, INT 10, WIS 11, CHA 16

This is my test roll to make sure I know how to use the software =) (1d20+2=20, 5d6=19, 2d12+7=12)

Just so I know I can work it, first time I've used it.

Also, I have added Artemis' Description and adjusted his Equipment accordingly.

Hope to play with you all soon. =)

I've taken the liberty of making a list of players:

Dron Drox (French Wolf) - CG Half-orc Cleric
Orelan (Will Cooper) - CG Elf Sorcerer (Battle Sorcerer Variant)
Triska of Skundar-Quah (SargonX) - CG Human Barbarian (Hunter Variant)
Brenon "jinx" Corto (RickyFlame) - CG Human Favored Soul

Kaldren of the Skoan-Quah (MythrilDragon) - N Human Sorcerer

Kraeg Ironforge (Ungoded) - LN Dwarf Transmuter
Artemis Grayson (flash_cxxi) - LG Human Rogue
Yoshi Toranaga (Radavel) - LN Human Warblade
Magatha Aegisdotir (LongreachJones) - LN Human Fighter

Just to help in visualizing the composition of the two (2) groups.

Regards everyone,
:D

Male Halfling Rogue / 1

Greetings everyone! I will post the rest of Lucky's stats when I get home from work. Can't wait to get started!

Male Human Favoured Soul 1

Zooma just wanted to make sure you hadnt forgotten if at all possible that Magatha (longreach) and I get placed in the same group.... two RL friends and a potential for shared back story.

Thanks : )

Liberty's Edge

Ok here is the break down for the groups:

Group 1

Dron
Triska
Kaldren
Yoshi
Kraeg

Group 2

Jinx
Atremus
Magatha
Orelan
Jebb

GAME ON!!

Keep an eye out in the game thread a little later!

Male Halfling Rogue / 1

Character sheet up.

Liberty's Edge

Game is now up and running! Check which group you are in and then jump into the fun!

Kaldren- looks like you still need to buy gear but everything else looks good!

Liberty's Edge

Yoshi- Its about mid day!

Excellent plan; agree we should eat the old man. Or maybe his mule..?

Oh, I suppose he might have supplies in his cart.

The meat on them old bones might not be enough. And I do imagine the mule will not yield as much meat as needed. That is without considering the quality of the meat.

Pulls out carving knife and starts to sharpen it.

I'm taking the liberty of adjusting Radavel's list of players to match the actual groups, just 'cuz I find myself easily confused. :)

Group 1
Dron Drox (French Wolf) - CG Half-orc Cleric
Triska of Skundar-Quah (SargonX) - CG Human Barbarian (Hunter Variant)
Kaldren of the Skoan-Quah (MythrilDragon) - N Human Sorcerer
Yoshi Toranaga (Radavel) - LN Human Warblade
Kraeg Ironforge (Ungoded) - LN Dwarf Transmuter

Group 2
Brenon "jinx" Corto (RickyFlame) - CG Human Favored Soul
Artemis Grayson (flash_cxxi) - LG Human Rogue
Magatha Aegisdotir (LongreachJones) - LN Human Fighter
Orelan (Will Cooper) - CG Elf Sorcerer (Battle Sorcerer Variant)
Jebb "Lucky" Edrin - CG Halfling Rogue

Well Group 1, we should be good in combat, but I am a bit concerned about the lack of a rogue in our party...

EDIT: I still need to write up Triska's background. I'll try to get to it today.

The Exchange

We may be getting an "urban scout" from The Eldritch Mr Shiny from the recent gamer connection thread.

Here's hoping.

Alternatively Dron could take levels of rogue but perhaps it would be better if a more intelligent member of the party, such as one of the two arcanists multi-class. I'm not that keen on anyone multi-classing unless they want to though, especially spell casters.

Or we hire a local thief. Unless this is some kind of utopia where thieves don't exist.

Cheers

Zooma, when the old man approached were we on the road? or did we step out of woods like bandits trying to rob him?

Brenon 'jinx' Corto wrote:

I'm thinking we probably looked quite alot like bandits. Oh well, at least if he has a heart-attack then we can borrow his cart :-)

BTW, as we've been adventuring together for a while, we probably have a typical marching order that we fall into:

Something like:
Jebb up front as scout
Magatha second as muscle
Jinx in the middle for safety
Artemis near the back as rear guard
Orelan at the back as rear guard

Does that work?

Male Human Favoured Soul 1

that works fine for me

Liberty's Edge

A little advise for all, I am running this adventure using multiple published materials so both groups will run into the same stuff many times during the course of this game. Each group will get to these spots differently but the encounters will be the same for both so saying all that, I think it would be best for you not to look at the other groups thread too much so you don't ruin the fun for your self, its up to you. I am working on tweaking the encounters to make them a bit different, hopefully it works. My mission is to present a fun and mind challenging game for you all so if you see issues at any point please feel free to express them, you will not hurt my feelings at all! I am really excited about this adventure and am glad you all choose to play!
Thanks
Rob

So who is going to be the "face" of the party? We have 4 PCs with high Charisma (sorry Magatha, I don't think you'll get any votes)?

I suppose that we can wait a bit and see what types of personalities emerge as we play. I just thought we may want to get this out of the way.

The Exchange

Zoom - it may be a good idea to have separate discussion threads in that case.

why dont we just play it by ear and try not to hog the spotlight. i'm sure there'll be plenty of role playing to go round.

also i agree we should probably have two discussion threads... but idc to much.

To my fellow team mates, here are some things that your PCs have found out about Toranaga in the time that have been together.

He doesn't fight women and children. "No women, no children."

He also salutes any enemy before fighting. "I am Yoshi Toranaga. Prepare to die."

And he doesn't strike anyone who appear incapable of defending themselves. "Don't turn your back on me! Face me so I can kill you with a clean conscience!"

Also he always carries his sword wherever he goes and he practices some weird style of sword play. "Ohmygod! He killed that ogre with one blow!

BTW, any thoughts on our team's marching order?

I was thinking Dron and Toranaga up front, the mages in the second rank, while Triska is the rear guard, who can take advantage of her ranged specialization.

None of the above apply to Triska. :)

Women and children are fair game, even more so if they're armed.

Saluting enemies is a waste of time. Unless you count putting an arrow into their chest as a "salute."

Enemies who turn their backs on you are easier to kill.

Triska also carries a sword wherever she goes, but she just hacks away at things. But she is quite good with her bow.
