For Christmas mom pulled my AD&D Dark Sun Boxed Set out of storage, packed it lovingly (worthy of a collector) and mailed it to me.

I can dig what you're saying. My mom really dicked me over when I was a kid, and now is trying to *fix things*. Only problem is; she's just doing more of the same, just in different ways. And, at least for the next few months, I still live with her.
My mom, also f*#+ed up.
