What was your first character?

Another thread got me thinking, what was your first character? What class holds that special place in your heart as your first class? What race?
My first character was a halfling rogue named Gimble Oakenshield. He was created when I didn't have the best grasp of the rules so there are many errors on his character sheet and he is totally munchkin but I still have the character sheet in my binder.

I'd have to go back to Red Box for my first Character, but I'm fairly certain it was an Elven Wizard. And we went up aginst that dastardly Bargle =)

EDIT: Incidently, the only thing that has stuck with me from that Quest was the Carrion Crawler encounter, which I was happy to see that they kept in the 3.5 re-vamp =)

My first character was a human paladin named Aldric Wolffheim. He and his compatriots (including the rat-turned-gnoll Squeak) fought against the evil plans of the Lich Lord.

Piemur the elf. I rolled him up using the D&D Basic set with the Erol Otus cover (I think that's the Tom Moldvay version of the rules). That was in 1983.

It's been one heck of a ride ever since then. :)
