Your chance to be a Charter Subscriber is running out!

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Fair warning! As of Monday, August 13, new Pathfinder subscribers will no longer be given "Charter Subscriber" status.

In order to be a Charter Subscriber to Pathfinder, you must sign up for an ongoing month-to-month subscription to Pathfinder *before* Monday, August 13. Note that just transitioning issues from Dragon or Dungeon does not get you Charter Subscriber status—you must sign up for an ongoing subscription to qualify.

Charter Subscriber status is our way of identifying you as someone who has made a commitment to Paizo and to Pathfinder before you had access to the first volume of our new product. The reward for your faith is twofold: a nifty "Charter Subscriber" tag here on our messageboards, and a FREE print copy of the Player's Guide to Rise of the Runelords, which will ship along with your copy of Pathfinder 1 next week.

And, of course, you'll have our gratitude for your willingness to believe in us when we most needed you to. We really appreciate it!

Yay me!

And so does this mean that we can download the PDF of Pathfinder 1 as soon as it ships next week, or does the PDF come out at a later date?

I don't have 120 dollars to spend on 6 20 dollar books at once x.x

unless I could like..... errr.... how does subscribing work to a month-to-month kind of deal????

You only get charged for the books when they ship. So you don't have to shell out all the money at one time.

You also save a bit of money when you subscribe. Not much mind you due to the shipping and handling cost (which sucks but hey what can ya do).

Paizo: Will Charter subscribers be getting a free hard copy player's guide to each new adventure path that comes out. For example in Feb 2008 when Curse of the Crimson Throne comes out, will those who are charter subscribers get the players guide to that adventure path (should there be one) for free with the first issue of that path?

I think this would be a nice reward for those of us who have stuck by and supported from the beginning. Not to mention shouldn't cost Paizo to much money heh.

We have just barely discussed it, and haven't come to conclusions yet, but odds are good that anybody who is a subscriber when volume 7 ships would get a Crimson Throne Player's Guide, just as anybody who's a subscriber when volume 1 ships gets a Runelords Player's Guide.

From the subscription description:

Month-to-month subscriptions are fixed at a 30% discount off of each volume’s cover price, plus shipping. One ongoing month-to-month subscription will get you every new volume of Pathfinder as it's released, automatically continuing each month until you choose to cancel it. Instead of paying for your subscription all at once, we'll automatically charge your credit card each month before we ship a new volume. You only need to sign up once, and never need to worry about renewal notices or missed issues!

After each volume ships, subscribers will be able to download a PDF of that volume—a $13.99 value—for FREE!

How will that happen? Will we get an e-mail with a link to the PDF? An E-mail with the PDF attached? Some other method that escapes me at the moment?

I seem to remember it being along the lines of them sending us an e-mail as soon as our own copy of the volume has shipped. The e-mail tells you that you can download the free pdf from the "your downloads" page, just as if you had bought the pdf...

So Vic, how is Paizo doing without Dungeon? It might be too early to tell, but does it seem like you will be able to sustain the company only with the GameMastery line and Pathfinder?

I just want to say "Thank you!" to your whole staff.

None of us has received Pathfinder 1 yet, and I know I'm not the only one anticipating its release greatly. I wasn't a subsciber of Dungeon, but after hearing about your creative new world I just HAD to have it. So thank you very much for all the wonderful work you do.

Hey, it worked, there's the little tagline. Neat. See everyone at GenCon 07.

Indeed. This is what sold me.

Heck I think the various Wayne Reynolds artwork sold me, then I started to read the various articles (like the blog) & I knew I had to see what the the 1st issue will be like, since I don't have a local game store to thumb through a copy. (closest is 60 miles away).

Heck if the quality is like the the magazines, I know you'll have a customer till the run goes belly up (which I HOPE IT WON'T HA HA).

can't wait!!!

Early signs are all good! We're all feeling pretty enthusiastic around here.

Glad to hear it! I'd hate for anything to happen to my favorite game company.

Strange how about ha half hour after I subscribe to Pathfinder last night (See . . . I'm a charter subscriber. . . see . . . see . . :) :) :) ), I get an e-mail stating that I'd have until the 13'th to subscribe and get the title.

I for one am glad that I didn't already have the e-mail when I was attempting to sweet-talk my wife into letting me subscribe. She'd've just said "Wait until the 13th." And we all know that a Happy Willy that would not have made.

But, that being said . . . one of the stipulations that was made for my subscription is that if I don't pass the Property & Casualty Licensing Exam this Saturday for the new job I got with AAA, I have to cancel my subscription.

So, I've got a question. Now that I am listed as a charter member, if I were to need to cancel subscription and then at some point later re-subscribe . . . . the Charter title . . . would I still have it? I'm assuming no, but I've been surprised before.

:Sigh: back to studying.

It helps that Vic and Lisa pump pure oxygen into our climate-controlled offices.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!

As long as nobody lights up, you should be safe...

Well, with great sadness I've converted my subscription over from Dungeon to Pathfinder.

I based my decision largely on two reasons:

1) the consistent and excellent quality of Dungeon in the hands of Paizo and its associates.
2) the enthusiasm, intelligence, and congeniality of every Paizo employee I've had contact with. From the poor intern who answers the phone and deals with "where's my issue" complaints, to the editor and staff who have made their knowledge of the game and willingness to help apparent on these boards.

Well, the above and the fact that noone else is producing product like you ladies and gentlemen. Nobody.
So kudoes, and thankyou, and here's to a few more years.

You're correct -- the answer would be no.

So don't cancel! :-)

Or better yet, ACE THAT TEST.

Yay! Well I converted my subscription a few days ago. My birthday is on Friday, so this was the perfect present to give myself. I know this has already been stated but Paizo consistently puts out a great product, and I can't imagine that will change any time soon.

This brings up an interesting point: I'm aware everyone is angling for swag at every turn, but let's think about long term grifting here! Assuming the number of Charter subscribers only diminishes (because it'll be a finite pool starting in a few days), will there be...ugh...incentives (aside from community status) with each new set of AP's to stay the course?

Dude, ok, I filled out the forms and I'm a charter subscriber. Quit nagging already. Gonna miss the mags, but this looks like a lot of fun.

I'm signed up now, and I'm really looking forward to getting this ball rolling! I must say I'm quite impressed already!

Congrats, William! :)

Well, technically I am a charter subscriber. But instead of subscribing through you guys I subscribed through my local comic shop. Heck, I told HIM about the end of Dungeon and Dragon, and signed up for Pathfinder when it was announced. I've been getting comics there since before I could read them, and feel loyalty to them as well. So although I miss some pretty cool free stuff... I'll have to stick with the shop.

But as for that other free stuff... lets just say its 3 days to gencon, and I've been saving my gold pieces. ;-)

I'm a subscriber, but am not listed as a charter subscriber...

I have to go on savings overload. I need to make sure I have enough on my credit card at the end of the month when I go to Memphis for a furry con. Where I will be running something D&D, furry style since that's what I'm down there for. If pathfinder arrives I may run that if not I have my own adventure I'm setting up inspired by the mind flayers of Thoon from Montser Manual V.

I got to say Im quite excited about the change over. I'll miss dungeon but it is exciting to start a world from its begining modules. Everything online so far hints that this will be a great product.

We don't have Charter GameMastery Modules subscriptions, just Pathfinder.
