Word Game Problem: Ideas and Solutions

Ok I hate the word games and I know several others do to, so does anyone have an idea how to fix or stop these unkillable threads?

My ideas:

1. Is there anyway to combind them into one thread that would open up to 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, etc word game sub-threads?

2. Can we give them there on area?

3. Keep them at the bottom of the Off-Topic Discussion area?

I want people to have fun and keep doing what they like, but they are getting annoying.

One thing I've noticed (or maybe its just my imagination), the word games don't seem to be showing up on the list of recent posts under the "messageboards" sidebar of the front page anymore ... or is that just me?

I'm not sure if I should be polite about the apparent onset of senility you seem to be experiencing because

1. I don't see word games on the board anymore.

2. Word games were removed from the boards.

3. There aren't any more word games polluting you tidy boards anymore.

Can't we just get rid of the word gamers? I see they are still playing their annoying little game even though they got kicked off the messageboards.

Nobody's been kicked off anything. Gary just made it so they don't show up on the front page index.

This is an awesome improvement.

That said, I would also support having a sub-forum specifically for these games. A number of interesting (and sometimes even relevant!) discussions take place in the 'Off-topic' forum, and it can be frustrating when they are all pushed off the cental forum list by 'X word game.'

Not that I want to prevent the people who play these games from enjoying themselves; whatever turns your crank. I'm just usually more interested in seeing if a crowd are heading into the Paizo chat room or following some of the other actual discussions.

Mind you, it's really only one extra click to go into the actual forum and get the whole list, so it isn't a huge deal.

For the record, I like the word games and I am glad Gary got them off the recent post list because I don't want to piss anyone off... just channeling off some energy into useless activities.

Yeah, but I forgot to update the code that keeps the word games off the front page, so there will be some clutter until I roll the site.
