Honesty . . .

Customer Service

I am a Dragon Subscriber, a Pathfinder subscriber, and a complete fan of the effort and joy the Paizones seemingly put into their work. Which is why I must confess something . . .

I recently ordered a Dungeon Crawl Classic; I was thinking about submitting some work there and wanted to see how there line is. I ordered through Paizo and everything was efficiently handled; I received my package with no fuss or delay.

Then the bonus . . .inside with my order was one deck of Gamemastery Item cards, something I am definitely planning on collecting before my next campaign (Rise of the Runelords), but had not budgeted in yet.

Too make a long story short . . .too late, I realize . . .is this an accident? Something Paizo does? Did I accidentally recieve someone else's order?

Honestly, I realize Paizo is a small company, a company I want to and plan on supporting -- I would not mind paying for these cards if I did receive them in error. And I guess that is my point.

It's a randomly inserted bonus, with our compliments.

I was actually a victim of this random generosity as well. There was no error, my friend. Paizo's warehouse goombas occassionally chuck a free pack of Item Cards in with their outbound orders. I myself have received two such packs over the course of my numerous purchases and I thought the same thing originally. The Great Paizo Ones informed me that they were, in fact, intentional. Worry not.

Edit: Aaaaaaand Vic beat me to the punch...

Man, you guys are good.

THANKS!!

I think a support group is in order.

We throw cards in every few orders as a way of saying "thank you" to our customers and to show folks how cool the Item Cards are.

Enjoy!

I too have gotten a few of those nice shiney bonuses! Thanks again, you all at Paizo!

This is one of the defining characteristics of a company that cares about its consumers. So many companies today Just Do Not Get It©. Well done. :)

Is there any way to subscribe to the free bonuses?

Just kidding.

I got some free item cards, too. Thanks, Paizo. You folks are great.

Seems like you have been the recipient of what we in New Orleans would call "lagniappe" (pronounced lan-yap). Sort of a baker's dozen. Right y'all are, Paizo!

Yeah, thanks Paizo.

You sent me a free pack of about 12 cards and now I've gone and ordered 4 complete decks!

If only you would stop producing such good items and tailoring them to what the customer actually wants...

wait

strike that, carry on, nothing to see here..

I'm sure they didn't have that in mind AT ALL! ;D

Heh. Every time I get an order from Paizo (like I did this morning - hooray!), I hope to get some more Item Cards. :)

All I got was a rock!

Look again. That's a magic rock.

I just thought Paizo would want to know that their tactic continues to work...Thanks to the pack of item cards I received with my Critical Hit Deck I'm currently in the process of figuring out how many packs of item cards and other Gamemastery items I want to order (Father's Day gift from my wife).

Damn you all for producing good material that makes me want to buy it, ofttimes sight unseen in the case of Pathfinder. Okay, maybe not "damn you all". Only McArtor deserves that. :P

So...if my new order is mostly item card packs, do I still get a free one thrown in? ;)

It's pretty much random, so... possibly.

; )

I have experienced random generosity from other small online stores as well. I ordered a Warhammer 40K army online several years back and got around $50 in extra figures.

Hmm... that seems less like 'random generosity' and more like 'gross packaging error.' Unless the purcahse you made was EXTREMELY large, of course.

I got one of those thrown in with an order a short while back as well. Paizo are top of the tree :-)

Of course it does sound a little like a dealer giving people their first hit for free! ;-)

Thanks y'all. I'd received them as well, but didn't know how random it was so I decided to clip my lip...until now.

*nods* I've won the item card lottery as well.

Got a copy of Dragon Blooded by accident from White Wolf once. E-mailed them to let them know someone was missing their copy. They thanked me and didn't ask for the book back ;-)

Liberty's Edge

Great. Now I feel bad because I never thought to question generosity vs. accident... actually, I feel bad because I did think to question, but blithely decided not to... :(

Confession is good... :-)
