Sort of a general question, but does anyone know where I can adventure for some good MP restoritive items? the further I advance the more I have to rely on my spells to dish out damage and it sucks having to spend either a bunch of meat to refill at the Doc's or to spend adventures at the campground. I have a good supply of Tiny houses and Phonics downs (I think that's how it's spelt), but having to use 6 or so each time is draining them pretty fast.

Alternately, does anyone know which equipment might be better for me? maybe something that cuts down mp cost or regens it, or even increases the amount, though i think that may just increase the problem.

Grand Lodge

The Dallas Dynasty Falcon Crest shield can be found on the Icy Peak. Apparently it is an ultra-rare drop, taken off "one of the fiendish Slandings of Knott". I like adventuring up there, but I just got lucky.

As for the MP restorers, the best way to restore MP is to have a big fat ghuol whelp familiar. Second best is the Frobozz Insta-House with a beanbag chair in it. Mount McLargeMcHuge has some good MP restoring drops as well - Unrefined Mountain Stream on the Icy Peak and regular Mountain Stream taken off skiers on the Xtreme Slope. If you can mix drinks, cocktails with colas or soda water are good for recovering MP, as is drinking beer. The berst place for either is the Orcish Frathouse - they drop beer and booze at high rates - and the Cola Wars battlefield.

Finally, here is a list of MP increasers.

I have some limitations as to where I can go searching for stuff at work. But here is a quick list of what I would suggest for fairly cheap...

It was recently Halloween and so nanite-infested candy canes are fairly cheap -- between 400 and 500 meat for the most part at the mall. They will regenerate 10 HP and MP for each adventure for 10(?) adventures for each candy cane.

Energy Drink IV will regenerate between 7-9 MP per adventure.

The Star Starfish is better at regenerating MP than the ghoul but it doesn't replenish HP.

Cotton Candy is pretty cheap in the mall (around 100 meat for Cotton Candy Cones) and replenish quite a bit for the cost.

Marquis de Poivre Soda are available at our Clan Rumpus Room. And seem to replenish as much or more MP than any other soda.

If you purchase a Tiny Bottle of Absinthe and take the "path" for the not-a-pipe, not only do you get a really cool item, but a number of the adventures you have to go through end up giving you around 150 MP in the process.

Good luck and hope that helps.

Scarab Sages

Sweet! thanks for the help you two. I got the Star Starfish, beanbag chair and Energy Drink. not entirely sure of the tine bottle of absinth yet, or the candy cane. I'll try those tomorrow.

Oh, and something I've been meaning to ask for a while is how the heck do you get Mr. Accessories? and is it worth the effort?

Make a donation of $10. Is it worth it? That's up to you. For a free game that I've enjoyed for more than a year I felt it was money well spent. I've picked up the Manual of "Tasteful" gifts and I just picked up the new sticker Tome. Not sure how it all works yet, but I got a cool Scratch 'n' Sniff Dragon Sticker. I also picked up the Llama Lama and the gongs I get from that are pretty cool.

I donate because I think that they have a great thing going and would like to see it continue. The items you can get (to me) are just kind of neat bonuses.

kessukoofah wrote:

The Nanite-Infested Candy Canes you get from trick-or-treating with the Crimborg Assault Armor outfit which you could only get from completing the Crimborg "quest" last year. I'll send you a couple so you can try them out. They are considered "food" and actually give some nice stats for their fullness.

The Tiny Bottle of Absinthe come from the Green Bottled Pixie familiar. I don't have that yet. (It's on the "wish" list.) But I have been collecting them as much as I can from good prices at the mall. Using one of them grants you access to the Wormwood. Read up on the Wormwood on the KoL Wiki and take a good look at the "Wormwood made easy". There aren't all that many nice "spleen" items that grant a good number of adventures -- the "not-a-pipe" is one of them. The not-a-pipe usually sells for well over 6,000 meat while the Tiny Bottle of Absinthe usually only sells for a little more than 700 meat. So for 700 meat and 10 adventures, you can get a good amount of your MP filled up and get an item worth over 6,000. In your case, probably a good trade off. (There are other items found there that are pretty nice and valuable as well.)

Scarab Sages

I had forgotten one other thing. Getting the Nuns their meat back at the "Our Lady of Perpetual Indecision" as a Frat Warrior will get them to fill up your HP and MP fully (up to 1,000) 3 times a day. There isn't much as good as that.

Where does one find these things?

In other news, my charater has ascended for the third time!

Grand Lodge

Congratulations!

The Green Bottled Pixie is a special familiar, so you won't find it anywhere. Sadly, I don't think we can buy past familiars-of-the-month. However, you can buy the little bottles at the mall.

BTW, Turin Elffriend just ascended for the 12th time! How does he do it, especially considering that he does it in Hardcore each time???

I really want that Psychedelic Bear... Having said that, I'm uncertain if I want to pay up $20 for it. But, as Moff said, it is a free game I've been playing for quite some time...

You can still "purchase" items of the month in the mall. I got the manual of candy heart summoning that way. (Which is really cool.) Prices of these is pretty steep however. Current price of the Bottled Green Pixie is near 13 million meat.

The Eldritch Mr. Shiny wrote:

"Find" these things? You can find them in the mall. I found out about it by searching around on the KoL Wiki site. I was trying to find all the different things that are out there to get.

Prismatic Wads are really neat to chew. And I can't wait to get back to the Hobos and kick some Hobo butt after chewing on a number of Prismatic Wads. I purchased my copy of Rainbow's Gravity at the right time. Now I just need a better way to get all the different elemental wads.

I could probably ascend pretty soon, but I think that I will wait until after the next Crimbo season. I was glad I was a pretty high level last year and I got some pretty cool stuff from it all.

I've gotten quite a bit of stuff -- especially for only ascending one time. If anyone wants some candy hearts, some "tasteful" gifts, some prismatic wads or other assistance, let me know.

Grand Lodge

I'd love a Prismatic Wad or three - I can use it once I ascend again to make a Six-Rainbow Shield, which is a pretty useful item. Hell, I'll make a bunch once I get to the right level.

Vattnisse wrote:

Are you still hardcore? Let me know when to send you some. (Of course I will expect a Six-Rainbow Shield returned in "payment"...)

I just love being under the effect of "Rainbow Bright". There's just something wrong with that. Of course the +30% to all stats, the Serious Elemental resistance to all elements and the +15 points of damage of every elemental type is pretty cool as well (for 10 turns per each). And that doesn't even include the 5-7 bonus adventures or the 50-60 points of stat gain for every stat. I have found few items in the game as nice as these.

Grand Lodge

Dang. That is nice.

BTW, I just got myself a Ragamuffin Imp. Good familiar that does amazing amounts of damage. I'd recommend it to anyone, and summoning it is a piece of cake.

Kessukoofah -- did you get my gifts? Hope they helped.

I also forgot one. If you were able to get a Thermos of Brew from Trick-or-treating this past Halloween season, the first time you drink from one you get an LWA Ring. It will regenerate 2-3 MP each adventure. If you didn't get one, I have a few extras -- but I would want a trade. They are currently selling for around 60,000 meat. Let me know.

Scarab Sages

Gav -- you around? I haven't seen as much of you recently.

We've got another recruit. Is there anything I can do to help with the administrative stuff?

Scarab Sages

Sorry it took a while to answer. Thanks for the gifts. The candy canes are definitely awesome. With them, the energy drink, the star starfish and the beanbag chair I feel tough enough to take on anything! well not quite. but my MP lasts a really long time. unfortunately, now that i'm back in the pirate's cove to get the snakehead charrrms and everything dies in 1 hit anyway It seems I'm going to have to wait a little while to wail on anything again and really need it. I don't think I need the thermos yet, but if it turns out I do I'll just buy one. I don't think I have anything you'd want anyway.

Also, my familiar list seems to grow every day. I now have

Spoiler:
20-pound Ghuol Whelp
20-pound Mosquito
20-pound Blood-Faced Volleyball
20-pound Origami Towel Crane
20-pound Leprechaun
20-pound Sabre-Toothed Lime
20-pound Howling Balloon Monkey
20-pound Misshapen Animal Skeleton
15-pound Stab Bat
10-pound Star Starfish
1-pound Levitating Potato
1-pound Angry Goat
1-pound Spooky Pirate Skeleton
1-pound Barrrnacle
1-pound Grue
1-pound Baby Gravy Fairy
1-pound Cocoabo
1-pound Hovering Sombrero
1-pound Scary Death Orb

And most of them have their weapons.

...I'm not really sure why I posted all that, but I think I'm pretty close to running out of the ones I can get cheaply and are not from Mr. Store or holiday events.

Grand Lodge

Don't forget that you'll probably need a 20-pound Angry Goat and Barrrnacle when you ascend. Also, the Cocoabo is a pretty good familiar (it does a bit of everything), as is the Gravy Fairy (it gives you more dropped items) and the Hovering Sombrero (it works like a Volleyball).

I'm hurt -- after all the stuff I've passed on to you and you think I'm going to be stingy about this? ;-)

Seriously -- before you go purchasing this at the mall, at least give me a heads up. No sense giving your meat to someone else outside of the clan when there's no need. And a lot of the things I'm looking for are pretty easy to get. If anyone is interested in donating to the Moff Rimmer cause -- I'm looking for ...

A pastamancer to upgrade some of my dishes to lasagnas.
Tiny plastic miniatures.
Dusty bottles (any, but especially Marsala right now)
Limes
Stars, Lines and Star Charts.
Pretty much any equipment from the island war.
Elemental mushrooms (mushrooms that are not spooky, gnoll or knob).
Elemental wads (for transforming into Prismatic wads).

Mostly pretty easy stuff. I don't mind giving items to clan members, but it would be nice to get a little reciprocation.

Also, I've got a few extra snowflake familiars if you are interested. Also, the RoboDuck is kind of fun -- but the only way to get it is to use robotronic eggs -- sometimes a lot of them. It took me a little more than 100 eggs to get mine. If you're ready to get that one, let me know.

The stars, lines and star charts are all really cheap in the mall, but I don't mind getting a bunch and donating them for all the help you've given me. I also don't mind adventuring for the bottles (I already have 2 I can send. sorry, but they aren't Marsala) and limes, and I have a whole lot of tiny plastic miniatures with repetitive effects that I don't mind giving away (unless there's a trophy for collecting the entire set or something.), but most of those are from the latest halloween ones (Still have 20 to open), so you might already have all of them, though if you need specific ones, just get the set number (X/64), and I'll see if I have those ones. I also don't mind sending along some lucky surprise eggs if you want them. And finally I happen to be a Pastamancer who will eventually be able to craft Lasagnas As soon as I get to a high enough level to use it (As in one more level, which I'll prolly gain collecting bottles and limes for you.)

...So ya. And I am definately interested in the snowflake one right now. The robotronic duck sounds cool, but I'm a little wary of having to go through a whole bunch of capsules to get it yet. I had enough of that with the animal skeleton for now.

edit: And I just fired off some stuff your way for now.you helped me out a lot, so I don't mind some payback.

Scarab Sages

Wow. What do you people do with all your stuff. I'm really starting to feel like a greedy bastard...

I mean I've got 154 abandoned candy that I pretty much will never get around to using. (Maybe the bounty hunting outfit really does make a difference.) Right now I'm going through the war and currently have 93 beer helmets. The only tiny plastic figures I'm missing are the rares. (I've got Dr. Awkward but that's the only one.) But at this point I'm just trying to collect quantity. This past Halloween I managed to snag 20 Thermos of Brew. Am I really that much better off?

Now I feel really bad. Seriously -- what are the rest of you looking for?

And what do you do with the stuff you collect?

(And thanks for the donations...)

for consumables like food and drink, I usually just eat and drink as much as I can. for equipment and accessories I just sell off everything after the first or donate ti to the clan depending on when I remember that I can donate things to the clan. but ya...I just don't seem to collect as much stuff as you are. maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places. though for halloween I walked out with 100 herb brownies and 50 dwarven breads among the miscellaneous other stuff. but like I said, I'm gonna end up eatin them all. I also usually go for specific items at a time. Like after the limes and bottles for you I'm going to go back to the Penultimate airship and restock on healing items. i had about 100 each of softgreenetc., scroll of drastic healing, tiny houses and phonics downs before I started the Macguffin quest. now I'm down to about 50 of each.

Scarab Sages

Kessukoofah -- I just sent you some stuff. Most of it should help you out quite a bit. You can only get the snowflake by being able to pick-pocket so it's a little harder to get than some of the others. I've sold a whole mess of robotronic eggs (they sell well) so my stock is pretty low right now. I'll try and stock up and send you 150-200 at one time.

Vattnise -- let me know when you are done being HC and let me know what you are looking for and I'll see if I can hook you up...

Btw, pust some warm, cool, flaming and stinky 'shrooms in the stash

Scarab Sages

So ya. I'm at level 15 now, which means I have access o the Wok of ages. I started on your Lasagnas Moff, but when I tried to send them and around 30 or so bottles it told me you couldn't recieve items at this time. don't know what that's about. I'll try again tomorrow I guess.

So if anyone else wants their dishes powered up by the Wok, just ask. I'm going to ask for 1000 meat to cover the cost of MSG, or similar in trade if you prefer, but I'm not going to try and make a profit off it.

I'm also trying to make a Chefstaff of the Grease Trap, since it sounds really cool, so if you check out the wiki and have any of the items i need (that don't go towards making the Giant cheese stick. I already have that), I'd be quite interested in trade or something.

Well, another new member here, though I've been playing the game for a fair while. I shall have to donate a few snowcones to the clan stash as soon as I finish up the Bad Moon run.

It's that -100% item drops from the scuba gear that gets you. You have to really pile on the buffs to even negate the penalty, let alone get decent odds of acquiring any. I packed it in myself, opting for another ascension instead.

Give me about a week (or so). I decided to ascend again and am currently in Ronin. (I wanted to be "non-pathed" to get as many adventures as possible for the Crimbo Season.) It shouldn't take me too long to get past Ronin.

It's a quest reward for helping Mayor Zapruder the third time according to the Wiki.

The Wiki wrote:

Tasks

Get out your Flaming Gravy Fairy, Frozen Gravy Fairy, Stinky Gravy Fairy, Sleazy Gravy Fairy, or Spooky Gravy Fairy familiar and start adventuring in The Spooky Gravy Barrow.

Collect the following items:

spooky fairy gravy, a one-time drop from the Spooky Wheelbarrow adventure.
inexplicably glowing rock, another one-time drop.
small leather glove, a drop from the spooky gravy fairy guard adventure.
Cook together the small leather glove and the spooky fairy gravy to obtain the spooky glove. Note that you will lose the glove when opening the entrance cavern, however you only have to do this once. If you lose against Felonia, you do not have to make a spooky glove again and can use it for other purposes.

Equip the spooky glove and adventure until you get the Heart of Very, Very Dark Darkness adventure to battle Felonia, Queen of the Spooky Gravy Fairies. See this adventure for further details.

Completing the tasks with a Spooky Gravy Fairy equipped will yield an additional prize from Felonia.

It's not quite as simple as that. Some abilities are considered rather powerful yet don't actually contribute to damage -- they may supply additional stats, increase meat drops, etc. Also, some quest items or items that are only acquired through special means (possibly the chef-staves) deliberately have a MUCH lower PR. I think that this prevents misuse of pulverizing and/or getting through certain areas easier.

Ooooooh...ya, that would do it.

Oh, and a friendly bit of advice to anyone who was in the same position I was in earlier about the MP: get a Chefstaff, Energy drink IV and the Star Starfish familiar. It may be a bit pricey, but I'm willing to help out where I can and it is worth it! I can pretty much cast spells every adventure and never run out all day by regen-ing an average of 20-25mp per adventure. so far, I've been dropping them all in one round so I'll see how the rate holds up when I return to the harder enemies of my main quests.

Just wondering if anyone is a Sauceror with the ability to make sauces. I happen to be in need of some and figure this would be a good way to save some meat. I can afford all the ingrediants (and even the end result if need be). Just checking.

(oh, and they're hot and sour sauces in case anyone's curious)

I also need someone to smith some items and it tells me only a level 5 seal clubber can do it. Anyone up for it?

Both my accounts are now saucerers. What sauces are you looking for and what are the ingredients?

Our IT department (apparently) likes me. It should be blocked for me as well. I was threatening to take up smoking to get extra breaks during the day if they didn't free it up. ;-)

The public TV station I work out of is funded in part by the local school district, and as a result, we operate off of their network on a different server. The district's IT guy is a paranoid old bastard, and has taken to randomly blocking sites that he thinks people "visit too much," including Google, KoL, YouTube (for a time), MySpace (but not Facebook), and DeviantArt.

Alright, I'm in!

I have finished the Naughty Sorceress quest for the first time, and I am just exploring a bit before I ascend. Collecting familiars, etc.

I got a bunch of stuff if people need anything. Give a shout and let me know what you want, and I'll take a look.

Good to be part of the clan!

Cheers.

I had to laugh at this. "Thou shalt not search the internet!!"
