I can make anything work, what you need is a nice vibrant background that deposits you in the city of stormreach in xen'drik

Well as I think about it more, 7 ain't that much more than 6, but the party would be healing light. If you can handle a body-fixer of some sort I will open the slot for you

Male Wildhunt Shifter Ranger / 3

Yes, Beren likes to be healed. Actually, he needs to be healed. Again!

Hi, interested in in your game do you have any openings? If you do what kind of kind of races and/or class do you need? My e-mail is fireangel052905@aol.com.

Male Impoverished Student 2/Amateur Chef 3

I will be happy to play whatever the party requires. If the party requires healing how would a Umbragen Spirit Shaman be? If that doesn't work let me know and I'll play a human Favored Soul (or Cleric) of some diety of good and healing (the equivalent of Pelor) or a Umbragen (or human) Druid. Let me know which of my character concepts would be better and I'll get a character sheet to you ASAP. 28 point buy? standard starting gold for 2nd level? Thanks for being willing to open a slot for me, I really appreciate it.

Ok so I have decided on a Human Fighter, whom is a member of the House of Deneith. I need to know what the starting Gold would be and am I starting out second level? Please let me know this ASAP so that I can get my stats done up as well as a background.

Thanks

I need to talk to you about some things and I am not sure if you want me to talk here or if you want to email me so here is my email address. keaniguthrie@yahoo.com.

How do you want to treat house discounts for equipment and if you have anything special about how you are going to deal with the dragon mark houses?

Thanks

Here I am. If this doesn't work let me know and I'll work up something else. Thanks again.

Female Human Fighter/3

Here are my stats and I will get my background done by tomorrow

Male Engineer Geek 6/Engineer 5/Engineseer 1

For the new guys, starting wealth is 500gp (the whole party is short right now) and yes second level.

As for Dragonmarked house influence, it will depend highly on the local presence of the house... Deneith is relatively weak in Stormreach, so you won't have access to as much as you would in Sharn, but the whole saga isn't going to be in Stormreach. Specifically, you will get no discount during character generation, and we will see as you go forward.

I am glad you dropped the Drow thing. I don't have the Dragon with the Umbragen rules in it, so that was right out, and you would have had a hard time fitting in otherwise.

God list here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religions_of_Eberron covers it nicely. You probably want Boldrei or Olladra.

I look forward to reading your backgrounds.

Yeah, I decided to play something a little less unusual. I made the stat changes and will make the gold changes ASAP. I should have a backround for you by Sunday afternoon. I've already got something in mind but I need to organize it and get it written down.

Well you would have to talk to Dreamweaver, not sure he wants to share:) Anyhow back to the good stuff, What did you mean "glad you dropped the whole Drow thing" Sorry I do have blond/brown hair and somethings do fly over my head. Nevermind just realized you weren't talking to me. I do have some questions about my background and could use some advise. I will post what I have so far and you might be able to tell where I am going with it. Let me know if it will work with what we have going before I get to involved and have to do lots of changes

Thanks!

I'm looking at that link that yoo posted regarding the gods of Eberron; it doesn't seem like there is an equivalent to Olidammara. If I have missed something please let me know. Also it says that Kol Korran is the god of Charm, Commerce and Travel. Commerce and Charm require some finesse and delicacy but it states that his favored weapon is the mace. The mace is not a weapon that requires much finesse nor is it a very delicate weapon. Anyway, rant over. If there isn't a god that I've missed that is more equivalent to Olidammara then I'll choose Olladra.

Female Human Fighter/3

Ok so I finished my background but I feel that it may be a little weak. I could use some advise as this is only the second background that I have ever done and I worry that I may have said something that may not be right and all of that stuff so please let me know. I will also change my stats as I didn't know how much money I would have so I get to upgrade a few things. Oh yea, since I spent time with the Drow am I able to take one of their feats? More like can I take the Drow Skirmisher from the Secrets of Xen'drik

Thanks

Merreck's backround

Spoiler:
He is halfling who was brought to a temple of the Silver Flame after his family was killed in an attack by a rivaling merchant family and he shewed promise of becoming a powerful cleric. He always was bored with the sermons on morality and the ponderous tomes of religious fables he was made to study, finding more joy in listening to the tales and songs that the bards told at the tavern to which he snuck away from the temple to whenever he got the chance. The one thing that he liked about his cleric training was learning how to channel divine power to heal wounds, for he is naturally compassionate. When he turned 16 he was about to take the mantle of a junior cleric of the Silver Flame when he decided that it was not what he wanted from his life and ran away from the temple. He found a bard who was willing to take him on as an apprentice. Soon he had become a talented musician but again felt the touch of the gods upon his life. After a meeting with a preist of Olladra he felt that his true calling was to follow her(?) teachings and of course to gain wealth that will allow him to reforge his merchant house. Throughout his life his footsteps have been haunted by agents of the rivaling merchant family They killed his master so Merreck has journied to Stormreach in a search for wealth and revenge, as well as the chance to put his divine gifts to good use.

Here it is. If it doesn't work with some facet of Eberron let me know and I'll change it. I don't know a lot about Eberron. Apologies if it rambled and doesn't makes sense in some places. I might revise it when I'm not so tired. Apologies if I changed tense in there as well. I'm still working on a description and perhaps a character portrait if I'm feeling ambitious.

I really like the concept of the Favoured Soul/Bard - good synergy on CHA. I was wondering though - how come this character has three feats?

Crap, I forgot to ask if flaws are allowed. If they are then I'm taking the Lightweight and Meager Fortitude flaws. If not then I'll make the requisite changes. Thanks, the combo fit my character concept and seemed to work well together.
Also I'm revising my backstory

Spoiler:
Merreck Green bottle was born to a well to-do merchant family. He was always something of a sickly child but made up for any flaws in his health with an quick mind and charismatic demeanor. He spent much of his childhood learning how to run the family buisness, interact with potential customers, run the sailing vessels and airships and listening to the songs and stories of the bards who were often hired by his father as they passed through twon to perform at the family manor. When he was 9 his father died in an airship accident and his uncle took over the family buisness. What had once been a prosperous trading buisness soon spiraled into bankruptcy. The family was forced to sell most of their merhcant fleet to a rival merchant clan. When he was nine years old a fearsome fire burned the family manor to the ground, leaving him the only survivor. A passing stranger took him to nearest temple to the Silver Flame for care. The spark of divine power was recognized within him and his clerical training begun. He soon tired of the sermons on morality and the ponderous tomes of religious fables; whenever the opportunity presented itself he snuck away from the temple and went to listen to the bards at the tavern. An old bard who favored the local tavern began to teach him to sing and play the fiddle and his skill blossomed. The night before he was to be ordained as a novice member of the clergy he decided that this was not the life he wanted to lead. He wanted a life full of adventure, merriment, wealth and perhaps one day, the restbalishment of the family buisness. He ran away from the temple and took up the carreer of a bard. Soon after he had began his bardic career he met up with a slightly rogue cleric of Olladra who beleived in trusting fair fortune above all else. The cleric soon taught Merreck to harness his divine gifts in an unorthadox manner. His mentor died in a poorly planned attempt to steal some powerful relics from the temple of Olladra. Greiving for his mentor Merreck left the region of his birth and sailed for Stormreach to start anew and pursue his old agendas. Now, a year later he has finally completed an ardous journey involving many sidetracks and has just arrived in Stormreach adn is looking for an opportunity to regain the wealth he has lost on his long jounrey. He has heard of the group that was key in the battle aboard the Tethered Wench and has tracked them down to see if they could use someone of his skills, sensing that there is much to be gained from an associatio with them. He isn't on entirely friendly terms with either the Church of the Silver Flame nor the Church of Olladra, both consider him a rogue and even a minor enemy. He tries to avoid contact with both groups whenever possible.

For Dragonman only

Spoiler:
I was thinking that neither his father's death, the bankruptcy of the company, nor the burning of the family's manor were accidents. They were arranged by a rival merchant family, as was his delivery to the temple of the Silver Flame, in an effort to erase his family's influence. Perhaps this could just be a grab for wealth by a now wealthy house or perhaps it could be something darker, even influenced by the agents of the Lords of Dust. Merreck wouldn't know about this, and would slowly find out about it over the course of several adventures. Perhaps he would have to deal ith political intrigue and death squads. All of this is only if you feel like adding more subplots.

Apologies if I rambled and didn't make much sense; if necassary I'll rewrite it when it isn't 3AM. If what I've writen doesn't fit with some detail of Eberron then I'll revise as necassary. I should know more about the setting once my Eberron sourcebook comes in at my FLGS.
How many action points do I have at 2nd level? Is there somehwere where I could read up on what can be done with action points?
EDIT: How to want to introduce me into the game? I really like the campaign, BTW.

I will say not yet on that, but eventually, yes.

As for the background, it is good, though I would push out the distance from the baron a bit. Uncle is a bit too close for a player who doesn't plan on being entrenched in house politics. Or, if you have your uncle's ear, perhaps taking the favored in house feat, and putting off one of the others for a while would be better.

Flaws don't bother me as much as they will bother you. I am not a DM who lets people get away with taking something that won't come up. But what does Lightweight do.

Only change I would make is that I wouldn't mention the Silver Flame. It is really only a powerhouse religion in Thrane, otherwsie it is mostly secondary. It was probably a temple of the Soverign Host (which is worshipped as a pantheon.

Action points are calculated as 5 + 1/2 level

1 action point can be used any time you roll a d20 to add 1d6 to the roll

1 action point can be used to quick cast an artificer infusion

2 action points can be used to "reuse" a limited use class ability, such as smite, rage, turn undead, etc

Female Human Fighter/3

I took the whole uncle thing out, now just an influential family. About the Drow Skirmisher Feat, I am not sure how that would work if I took the feat later because wouldn't I need to be with the Drow to be able to get the feat? If Sari did train with the drow it would make since that she would be proficient with the drow long knife and boomerang. I just thought that it would add a very Xen'drik feel to Sari that's all if not I will take the Favored in House feat instead.

Lightweight comes from a Dragon article (can't remember which one; I'llpost more details when i have my magazines with me). Basically it means that you're exceptionally slight of build for your race and take a -4 penalty on Str to checks to be overrun. It might do something else as well but I can't remember, will post more details soon.
I don't expect to have these flaws not directly affect gameplay; thats one of the reasons that I chose them. I could have choses something less damaging than Meager Fortitude but it fit my character concept too well and it got me the extra feat I wanted.
While we're on the subjext of UA materiel are traits allowed?
Oh, Shiny, I like how you're roleplaying Brick. He makes me laugh. Actually I like the whole group so far

Add in a footnote that they gave you a gift of a scroll, unfortunately written in Drow, with more information, and exercises. A couple levels to piece together the language (read spend skill points on speak language) and then you have access.

Hey,

Sorry about the undead thing, I was so pumped about rolling a nat 20 that I had a total blond moment, that and my wife staring at me to hurry up.

Regarding Brick, I was trying to have the character be productive with the suggestion that Valessa gave. I was also in a hurry and didn't want to hold the game up. Also, thinking along the same lines of Aubrey. IMHO, if Brick is a 2nd level cleric, should he not understand this.

I don't know, feel free to override the action. You are the DM, so I will submit to your judgment.

Don't worry about it too much. There is always the chance when subbing in with someone else's character that you will do something that just feels wrong. It is why I didn't want to be responsible for it, if I man handle something and do it wrong it can hurt the game, if one of the playter's does it, we record it as a mistake, and get on with life.

And for the record, my choice would have probably been a charge this turn, followed by a cure light wounds slam next turn.

Utak I think you might have jumped the gun on NPC Guy for Valessa, if I remember Mothman is in Australia so he is probably still counting sheep. We do kind of have a bit of a delay between Aubry and Mothman since they are almost on the opposite ends of the world with the way the initiative rolled out. Rokko acts in the morning, Ruuz soon after but Valessa is usually only active later in the day.

For those who are interested:

Blood Shrouded Skeleton:

Spoiler:

Template that can be added to any skeleton creature.

Has no effect on any skeleton stats, gains the blood shroud special quality:

The Blood Shroud has 3 hit points, and DR 5/magic

When piereced the Shroud explodes in a 20' radius spread, covering everyone with gore and fluids. Any one hit by the gore must make DC11+hit dice fortitude save or become sickened for 1 minute.

The creature can charge any attack it makes with negative energy, which will add 1 point of negative energy damage. This does 1 point of damage to the shroud.

The creature can attempt a disguese check, with a +10 racial modifier to appear as a living creature of its type, otherwise it appears as a zombie. Anyone within 5' can make a spot check to see through either disguise.

While the Shroud is intact, the creature gains turn resistance 4.

+1 CR

Not very official looking, but typing it from memory.

I just like giving you a hard time, I get impatient as well. Just ask Dreamweaver, so it was nice to get to post for this game. I stay at home with the kids and the mornings are "my time" so it is hard when there is nothing for me to post on and I sit here flipping back and forth waiting.
