Pathfinder cartography

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Has anything been said about who will be the cartographer for the new Pathfinder stuff? I'm really interested in hearing about some of the new maps.

I am likewise very interested in who is going to be the chief cartographer.

Man I hope it's West.

+1 on West.

I'd get it just for the maps alone if West does it...

+3 for West

His maps go beyond showing you a level with rooms, they become art when he does it.

Come now, think of the ego scar you have given the cartographer if it ISN'T West.

I personally would like to see Lazzaretti's work.

There are many cartographers out there. Maybe some new talent. The maps in National Geographic often put ours to shame. Imagine that quality of cartography.

Sorry, Chris paid us too well...

yeah, i'm on board with the whole chris west thing. count me in as another fan.
sure, rob's stuff is great, and NG style maps would be beautiful, but christopher west's maps are so friggin nice looking.

Lazz has been blowing me away with his maps lately. Assuming he's on board for Pathfinder, I'm sure the maps will be awesome.

I myself have not been asked to work on Pathfinder (yet, anyway), but I am doing maps for the GameMastery adventures. It's a lot of fun doing adventure maps and it has been a long while since I got to work on whole adventures. I'm pretty excited about it! :)

Okay, both of you then :)

Great cartographer and humble too.

Are any fold-out maps going to be included with the Pathfinder Series, or will it be a stand alone product? Or are the maps going to primarily be single page offerings? I'd be particularly interested in miniature scale maps (more so if they were skrimish friendly).

We've no plans at this point to include poster maps in Pathfinder. We don't polybag Pathfinder like we do Dungeon, and therefore we'd have to bind in any poster maps using the rubbery glue method or the perforation method or the cut it out yourself method. Furthermore... poster maps are expensive to make and print.

That said, Pathfinder will be available as a PDF (a free PDF if you subscribe), so you should be able to print out the maps from the PDF at whatever scale you wish. Not a perfect solution, I know, but it'll be the one I'll be using.

And of course... there's always the possibility of doing poster maps of certain maps as stand-alone products sometime down the road, but that's not something we've discussed much so there's nothing more to say on that front yet.

I would buy a full color Pathfinder map in a heartbeat! Actually, I would buy two. One for the wall and one for me!

That is perfect for me; my poster maps sit folded in boxes as it is.

It sounded like the Players Guide that is sold in the stores will be bagged since there are five per package so put the poster map in there.

Mentioned this before but it needs repeating

Maybe you should look to Dundjinni Users as a source of Great Maps as Goodman Games has already done. Dundjinni has the ability to create JPG, BMP and PNG files. A simple click of a Mouse can create DM and Player. And Those can be converted to PDF easily also.

I got plenty of time and I already post generic Location Maps free on the Dundjinni Map Forums, so why not share here also. Imagine having the ability to download before hand a Map of "Tinker's Arm and Armour Shop" prior to game time.

Maybe Contact some of us to help Map out your new world.
