By popular request, we've added some new features to the paizo.com messageboards. Now you can have a user profile, visible to others. And for those who are participating in play-by-post games, you can have multiple messageboard aliases tied to your paizo.com account.
The new user profile page lets you describe yourself or your character. All fields are optional, so if you don't want to disclose your full name or location, you don't have to. You can use our standard BBCode markup in the "about me" box. All other fields (except stats) are free-form text allowing about 250 characters of text.
The page also provides links to your recent posts and recent product reviews. You can now subscribe to an RSS feed of a user's recent product reviews in addition to a feed of their recent posts. The recent product reviews page is a great resource for finding good products. For example, Lady Aurora has posted dozens of reviews of D&D mini singles, and Megan Robertson has posted a ton of reviews from the RPG Resource website.
For those playing in play-by-post games, or just those interested in sockpuppetry, you can now create multiple messageboard aliases. To create or modify your aliases, go to your My Account page (link at the top of every page), and click the "Create new messageboard alias" link. If you've already created multiple paizo.com accounts, contact me at webmaster@paizo.com with information about your accounts and I'll get you fixed up.
Once you've created an alias, you can select which account you want to set as the author of a messageboard post when creating your post.

Wow! That is awesome. Hey so can I get my old account names changed to aliases? The important one is Greis Rashire as AU 11. The other one I can just rename, no big deal. Greis Rashire is it's own account though, which means I need that account unmade before I can rename my alias to it. If you could help me out that would be great. Thanks. I'm with Spiky! You rock!

I've set Greis Rashire as your alias. You can use Anonymous User 11 for something else.

When you say they didn't work, does that mean they were disabled? Did you get an error message? Did the page reload at all? What happened after you clicked?
The buttons were there, but unlike all the other buttons on the site, clicking them did nothing. No little dotted line box around them, no sign that the computer was working. It's like they weren't hooked up to anything--just pictures shaped like buttons. They wouldn't even click.

LOLing at the special ability of yours, Mike. And your about section was tellingly intimate and genuine. I wonder if we're all going to open up in the about section or just devolve into Buckaroo Banzai quotes.

One lil thing I noticed about the new programming... when I click my name in order to find my last few posts, and then I click on the post I'd like to link to, it takes me to the start of that particular thread, but not to the post itself.
eg. I click on my last contribution to rants and it takes me to Saern's introduction on page one of that massive thread.

I'm toying with the idea of letting you delete aliases that haven't been used. (I'm seeing a lot of "Anonymous User xx" on the profile pages.)
I don't think deleting an alias that has been posted is a good idea. What would we do with the posts made under that alias? Delete them? Revert the poster's name to the main account?
I think, if you're done using the alias, just don't use it any more. I'm open to further suggestions, of course.
Edit: Pointless edit to force snapshot propagation.

Good point. I hadn't thought of that. Nevermind!
