Erik Goldman is dead. Long live Kirth Gersen!

At Erik Goldman's request, I have changed his messageboards avatar name to "Kirth Gersen".

It may take a few hours for the change to completely take effect.

Edit: Also, note that all posts which have quoted Erik Goldman will still say "Erik Goldman wrote:" instead of Kirth Gersen. This is one of the reasons we don't normally let you change your avatar name after 10 posts.

Thanks! But I've been resurrected here, and it took only one day, rather than three!

Thanks again, Gary. I know you've had your hands full this last week, and to find time to fulfill my rather unimportant request in the midst of all that is a reflection of the dedication of Paizo's staff and the excellence of their customer service.

And the new messageboards are FAST!

Kudos to all (especially Nick Logue for noticing) ;)

Except that Nicolas Logue is now known as Richard Pett......

Isn't Kirth Gerson from Jack Vance's "Demon Princes" books?

The same! He's my hero.

Congrats, btw--you're the first to get it. Literary awareness award to you, sir! (In addition to the obvious "My parents knew how to spell my name" award)

For whatever reason, my computer didn't allow me a "set avatar name" option when I joined; Gary Teter was kind enough to rectify the problem.

Hmmm ... I liked that Eric Goldman guy, he had some interesting stuff to say. Hope this Kirth Gersen is up to scratch.

Thanks, crabman! I mean, Mothman! It's like in a bad movie: I'm his identical twin brother, but with the same personality and, obviously, the same hobbies. Erik had to commit seppuku in shame when he submitted a subpar adventure querey to Dungeon this month.

The first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club. Dweeb.

OK, let's take the Fight Club stuff over to off-topic....

It's a "My Name is Earl" reference. Sorry. I'm envious--obviously your gaming is sufficicient to cut into your TV viewing! :)

ha! I wish ... no, real life is MORE than sufficient to cut into my gaming AND my tv viewing

I am just curious why the name change; is this a religious thing; the only times I hear of name changes is marriage, faith conversion like to be a Muslim, diviorce; stuff like that; kinda strange to just change you name out of the blue; like hmm today I will be Valgrymr (hehe which means the same thing but in a different language just like Audrey and Bridget mean the same thing, but are in different languages.

Am interested in emtomology, what is Kirth Gersen?

Nothing like that; it's a messageboard name change I've been trying for for a while now. Why does anybody pick a messageboard name? Kirth Gersen, as Erik Mona pointed out, is the protagonist in Jack Vance's "Demon Princes" novels: possibly the best (or at least the most entertaining) sci-fi/espionage series ever written. The character Gerson exhibits a cunning, adaptability, and resourcefulness that I admire a great deal.

Ah; just like my toon name means grim courage :)
