Champion of Gwynharwyf

Savage Tide Adventure Path

Sadly I do not have access to the book that has this Prestige Class. Should I just leave the +2 affiliation score modifier out, or substitute another prestige class in its place?

thoughts?

I wouldn't sweat it. Honestly, it seems to me like the affiliations were included solely to spotlight that new addition to D&D; I can't see that they're going to have any effect whatsoever on the AP, the way it seems to be headed.

Liberty's Edge

Erik seems to be right, doesn't look like the affiliations really have a huge impact on events so far.

Running Savage Tide is a long way off for me, but I decided to flip through Book of Exalted Deeds at my local game store to check out what the Champion of Gwynharwyf (and indeed the class' namesake) was all about.

The PrC seems to give (roughly) Barbarian-like class abilities (rage etc) mixed with Paladin-like class abilities (smite evil etc). I figure if and when I run Savage Tide I'll probably create my own similar PrC (dropping the Exalted feats requirements) if one of my players is interested in the Church of the Whirling Fury.

Church of the whirling fury is a demon hunting organization... so any demon hunting PrC would work.

Interestingly enough one of my players a cleric of the God of storms was expressing intrest in the Whirling Furies. . . He is aiming on becomeing a Storm Lord but I may give him a CoG as a cohort later on in the AP they may need the help.

CoG is a gnarly prestige class. A Single class Barbarian loses nothing, while gaining spellcasting, and a host pf special abilities. They can cast spells while raging, and their spell list includes the (newly reprinted so as to be really awesome in Spell Compendium) Divine Sacrifice spell. Trust me, they can really put the hurt on...

CoWF is also in there because the PCs may visit the eladrin's court in adventure 11 to ask it for help weakening Demogorgon.

Wow I hadn't noticed that possibility. Cool I have a minotaur barbarian who has joined the CoWF and will probably go CoG.
