How to kill the Howard's Conan specifically? Simple, go back in time and kill Robbie before he ever wrote the thing. Duh.
According to the Argonauts, yes.
Right along side, 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you.'

Part of the trouble with the question of 'Who could whup Conan?' is, I suspect, that many of the warriors likely to be able to achieve the feat would much rather fight alongside Conan than against him.
Just a random thought there.
I have to agree, Yes the smart ones do. This whole concept is contained within the Riddle of Steel.
This riddle begins with, "Which is stronger, flesh and blood, or steel?"

[Riddle of Steel.
This riddle begins with, "Which is stronger, flesh and blood, or steel?"
Steel is stronger but the the flesh wields the steel.
Blood coats the steel, and without the flesh the steel will eventually rust.So the answer is neither, only together are they strong.
So I just mentally whupped Conan ;>

Someone called the police and social services on you, because that was just inhumane the way you whupped him, Darkjoy. I'll create a distraction while you leave through the back door.

WRONG !!!
You are not even 1/2 way to the answer.
ps. sorry Jade, but you looked good in action. :-)

does steel rust?
i didnt think steel rusted.
i didnt go through two thousand pages of posts, so i dont know if explosives have been mentioned.
a 155mm howitzer round can do some horific things to human flesh. ive seen some pretty nasty wounds from 60mm mortar rounds also.
Anything less than 88mm rounds just causes an irritating rash to Conan.

A little summoned bunny rabbit is not a distraction. I'll just chop its head off.
One rabbit stew comin' right up...

interesting, because an 81mm mortar breaks up into some really small pieces, but a 60mm motar ends up in some big ass chunks.
i have never seen a modern 88mm round. im assuming that is the wwii german anti-tank, anti personnel round. which yes, only causes an irritating rash to modern armored vehicles. (except that m113, it would eat the lunch of a m113, of course, its not necessarily modern). now, the modern sabot round fired by the m1a2sep. i havent seen conan's reflex ac, but if he can get out of the way of a 1 inch, depleted uranium shank designed as a super armor penetrator, traveling at well over a mile a second, then i will hide from conan.

Well if it isn't the answer, then Crom will laugh and cast me out. If that happens, I am betting I will be seeing you again.
On the other hand, the more likely scenario is that Crom will laugh at you and cast you out, when this happens, and it will, don't forget to wave at the little red devil sitting next to Crom. That'll be me.

If you had the opporunity to fire ordnance like that how can meer DnD (or anything) be fun by comparison?

Hide, then. Yes. Hide.
Crom!

dnd is much more fun than all that. when my character dies, i just crumple up the paper, throw it away. when i die, its game over.
the only place for conan to hide would be in a concrete bunker. thermal imaging looks through trees, grass, etc. then if he is in a concret bunker, then instead of sabot, you send heat. should still penetrate the bunker, but instead of just flying through, it would shoot a strem of molten metal into the bunker. then there are always the high explosive rounds. if you cant penetrate the bunker, then just smash it into little pieces.
conan vs. m1a2sep....i think m1 wins.

The Jade |

If Conan has not been whupped already, then he is the king of his universe and the intended pattern is clearly that Conan cannot be whupped. That becomes part of the point of Conan.

A man who knows his Sabbath! :) I think Van Halen originally wanted to name themselves 'Rat Salad'. If they had, I don't think anyone would Jump.

They teach that move in Army Infantry hand-to-hand combat training - its called the 'monkey flip'. When the instructor asked us if we knew what a monkey flip was everyone just shook their head no - then he said 'you know, the Captain Kirk flip' and started with the Start Trek fight music, then EVERYBODY new it then including some south Koreans!

Heh.
When did Hal take a dirt nap?
I don't know all that FR stuff.
I don't really keep up with it either, I'm not sure where its from, but I remember reading some people b*tching about it on the messagebaords about 6 months, a year back. Could be a 4e change maybe?
(I don't mean b*tching in a bad way. I'd b*tch about it too if I was a Realms fan probably)

Not to be a spoiler, but this is technically true.
Halastar forsaw the spellplague and attempted to stop it, but something went wrong with his ritual and his soul was blown into a million pieces and embedded into various spellcasters around Faerun. In my Faerun, even if this happened, I am allowing the PCs to reverse the tragedy and save Halastar.
You can read about it in the Expedition to Undermountain (in the preface no less), or maybe ask Sean K Reynolds sometime, since he wrote the adventure. The short of it is, apparently Wizards pushed for it as a set-up for the 4th Edition changes.
By the way, I don't blame Sean for killing my favorite fantasy character besides Boromir. Unless of course, it was his idea! ;)
