Although it's unusual for a druid, Larissa worshiped Fharlanghn. Her husband did as well.

Shensen, the druid (mostly) from SCAP also presumably worshipped Fharlanghn ... maybe its a regional thing. Or maybe its a James Jacobs thing... ;-)

I am curious about her parents as well. My PC group just emerged from the vault and with the knowledge local check determined that her parents were part of the seekers guild, and because of the information in the ledgers, they were fairly renown in the area for doing dangerous work for the nobles and guilds of sasserine.
if my players dig around, what would they find out about them? Is there more information available about the seekers guild -- the next place they are going to poke around.
Thanks!

It's probably a James Jacobs thing. Fharlanghn just seems like a cool druid god to me.
In any event, Lavinia does know her mom was a druid, but she doesn't know they were Seekers until she goes to the vault and sees Seeker signs everywhere.

Does Lavinia know that her mother was a druid in the seekers guild?
She doesn't know her parents were Seekers. According to the Vault scene in TINH, the Seekers have a tradition of inducting their children as successors on their 23rd birthday, and Lavinia is a few months shy of 23 - her parents died before revealing their allegiance to the Seekers.
I'd tend to assume that she knew something of her mother's class abilities, whether or not she would actually use the term "druid" - presumably Larissa must have had an animal companion, at least.
EDIT: Beaten to it by the official answer. :)

James -- what would the PCs learn with a Gather Information about the parents? Assuming they did all this adventuring on behalf of Sasserine Nobles and Guilds, there must be something that they'd find out.
Also, what additional information do we have about the seekers? Maybe there is more coming, I have only read through the first adventure.

The Seekers are an established organization in Greyhawk, and one that we've been using now and then in Dungeon as a thematic organization of adventurers. The Maure Castle adventures in particular have Seeker lore scattered through them.
Issue #348 of Dragon has a page of information about the Seekers as an affiliation the PCs can join. That's probably the best place to go for information, and it's certainly the best resource for Seeker lore in Savage Tide. On a certain level, we're leaving a lot of the affiliation information in the hands of the individual DMs so they can tailor them to their own style of DMing.
As for Lavinia's parents, I'll see what I can dig up in my notes about the Savage Tide tomorrow at work and post some collected info about them.

Your efforts are greatly appreciated. One of my PCs is playing a childhood friend of Lavinia's, and it would stand to reason that he'd know a little bit about the family.

For what it's worth, he strikes me as being one, too. Perhaps not the likliest choice, but it's very possible that an adventuring Druid would have reason to worship Fharlaghn. In fact, I might need to steal that idea... ;p

It's not a powerful choice for Druids, but I was thinking of having Larissa being a Horizon Walker. From what I've read she was very into cataloguing new lands and monsters, and that sounds like a Horizon Walker to me. It fits in with worshipping Fharlanghn, too.
Ooh, I like that idea! Consider it stolen. :D

Whoops!
We just started tonight and one of the PC's asked precisely this question and proceeded to roll a 25 Gather Info check and what with being an Academy Graduate and all I had to get something out quickly. Her dad's now a druid (I figured one of them MUST be) and the mum some sort of arcane caster. Since it's not really important except that one of them has catalogued the animals I won't need to go back on it. Right?

nice to know a little more about 'vinia's parents, right now I have them as part of an adventuring party, that went out more for the spirit of the adventure then anything. Thou I have both worshiping different gods, but it is nice to see who Larissa's deity was.
Also introduced anther character as well, he is close friend of Arik's & of the family (think Little John in Costner's Robin Hood movie)

That information has not completely been revealed;

They were probably around 9th level when what happened happened to them.
In other words, they aren't dead but rather transformed into something fiendish, undead or otherwise templated so that mortal levels are irrelevant and they will make a return in the 11th or 12th adventure in the AP to everyone's but especially Lavinia's shock and horror.

This would be especially nice since I made a table concerning rumors on the Sea Wyvern regarding the unknown saboteur/murderer (in German/Eberron, if somebody is interested), one of these rumors speaks of an alife Verik, the other of a mad animal companion.

...if you're going to use the Ecology of the Isle of Dread that appeared in Dragon as a handout in Savage Tide, that's written by her mom in full-on druid mode.
Is there any way I could get the text of that article, or at least the portions that would serve as the handout? I never got a chance to get that issue of Dragon, and having that article would help my players immeasurably.
