Happy Fathers Day!

To F2K, Fakey, KE Jr., and all the other misanthropes cunning enough to trick some nice, innocent, decent, deserving of much better woman to allow you to pass on your questionable genetic lineage, as I was against all odds and better judgment able to do.
Seriously, keep the faith, keep a stiff upper lip, and accept all the cheesy ties and watches with dignity and respect. And you are all my hero.
I'm going to go party now.

I echo those sentiments to all the Fathers out there also. I went to Fort Delaware with the family today, I will be hitting a faire(carnival) in a little while and as my Father's Day treat, on Wednesday I'm going to Sesame Place. Paizo hasn't shipped my gift yet (D&D boardgame and expansions) but I hear I'm gonna still do good ;P
I'm gonna need some naps.

I wish halmark made a card that said that.

Amen and good luck to all the dads out there! :D

As a special fathers' day treat I will be taking my two elves (ages 1 and 3) on a 10 hour plane ride - followed by an 18 hour plane ride.

I love my kids, I love my kids, I love my kids....

My own little kobolt has been fighting with me over breakfast for over an hour. I went to take a d&d break and found this thread. Happy Fathers Day! especially you other stay at home Dads, yeah all 5 five or so of you guys. Good luck!

Make that 6!

This reminds me of The Magnificent 7, where Yul Brinner & Steve McQueen keep meeting up, and without a word, just signal the current no of recruits...
Are we the lot, or are there more?
Will we run out of fingers?
Will we run out of toes?
Will we run out of other bits?

All for one and one for all!

Agreed; in fact, I wish card companies would stop making derogatory cards that paint all men as fat, smelly, useless drunks, whose only interests are farting, beer, football, beer, curry, beer, farting...

I went looking for a card for my own father, and it took me about 2 hours to find one that wasn't offensive.

Can you imagine buying a Mother's Day card that said "Get out of your stinking pit and make my dinner, you fat, ugly, stupid SLAG!"? Yet that is how we are encouraged to address the men who brought us up, who broke their backs to bring home a wage, to feed us and put a roof over our heads.

It took me a long time to appreciate my father; I went through a stupid teenage phase where everything he said was wrong, and I knew best. But now, I see what sacrifices he must have made for me and my brother. He became a parent a lot earlier than I did, and by comparison, I must seem like a total waster.
I'm not a mushy person, so it's hard for me to bite the bullet and give him a hug (and he'd probably be embarrassed, too), but although he'll never read this, I need to post it just to get it off my chest.

Families need Fathers!

Yeah, happy father's day fellow D&D fathers! My wife and three oldest are gamers. My oldest's husband is now a gamer and has introduced over a dozen others to gaming and *they* have taken the torch on to other duty-stations now. I have no doubt my grandchildren will be gamers, too. Yeah!! That's just kool...

Lol; you gotta be kidding; I am my kid's dad as the Laura Scheshigwhatever says. My wife has it easy like you have no idea and though several were asking, she was the one to get me to marry her. I recommend it for everyone; kids are so cool and great...so far. Thanks for the best wishes; hope the rest of you dad's out there have a good one; had to work today but wife and kids have cupcakes waiting at home; yum :)

Has any dad's out there gotten a tie yet? hehe, I don't wear em but always wanted one for fathersday cause you grow up thinking that what you get; my significant others always get me stuff I can use like books mostly cause I read like 3 a week or so.

My fathers day card didn't address me as a total waste, who was totally unworthy of my wife, but hey the day is still young! I'm sure its the least I deserve after 3 years of washing cloth diapers, heck at least I could fix the machine when it broke!

Well snorter your the first D&D stay at home Dad I've met, well sort of met, your now on my favorites list in my head. Any guy willing to take levels in house husband deserves the occasional cheering on. 3 cheers for snorter, one for when you meet another bloke and he asks what you do for a living, One for when your the only guy at the playground, One for when there is no baby change table in the mens room, but there is always one in the womens.

My wife and kids did me the greatest honor for Dad's day -- they gave me gaming gear!!

I got a copy of Hellspike Prison and three Reaper figs!

I am, like, so blessed!

I got slippers! No tie but still within the stereotype. My wife DOESN'T get me books because I read like 2-3 a week and she can't keep up with what I have and have not read. Great weekend!!!

I am also a stay-at-home dad and the list of three is spot on. Our numbers are growing. You shall all be assimilated.

I must put the record straight here; I'm not a stay-at-home dad, though I do feeds, changes, daytrips, shopping etc. when possible.

I don't know where the confusion came from, maybe it's my fault because I've mentioned (here and elsewhere) 'bringing-up' my kids, and it has a more specific meaning Over the Pond.
I don't want to be given any credit I don't deserve. I have no problem with house-husbands, indeed, if my partner had been a higher earner than me, there'd be no hesitation in being Mr Mom.

Oh! Snorter It must have been a mistranslation of english to English ;). I thought you where Mr. Moming it. As for me I my wife just happened to earn more than I did when my son was born so I got to stay home. My son developed Type 1 diabetes at age three, so my stay at home was extended; child care with the extra training to manage my sons disease costs more than I make. Now I work a bit around my son, I groundskeep at a hotel for two to three days a week, but my primary job is looking after the little guy, one needle at a time. Gotta go it's time to go to the park:).
