Age of Worms Online Supplement- When?

I just got my copy of Dungeon 124 a few days ago, and when I went online to check out the online supplement, I found it wasn't there. I also noticed, to my dismay, that issue 123's supplement came out a mere ten days ago. Do they always take that much longer after subscribers get the issue? Is this to prevent non-subscribers from, I dunno, seeing the pretty pictures before buying the issue?

Any help you can provide would be great.

We hope to release the online supplement for #124 by the end of this week, but we are handing off #125 to the printer presently, and that takes priority. I know it can sometimes seem like we at Paizo are superhumans, but it turns out that there is only so much time in the day, and we get the online supplements out just as soon as humanly possible. We do try to make sure that this happens before the newsstand release date, which is two weeks after the first subscribers get their issues.

Like I said, I hope to have it up by the end of the week, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it slips into next week. It is a _very_ busy time for us right now.

Is the online supplement going to include the conversion notes for Eberron? or is that a separate thing?

It will be in the Online Supplement, along with the Forgotten Realms conversion notes and many other exciting tidbits.

And my apologies, Mr. Mona, for insinuating that the lack of an Online Supplement was a sign of laziness on your team's part. I'd much rather have a kick-butt issue 125 on time than an optional supplement. You guys are doing a fantastic job.

Nothing to add, except that there's... well... nothing to add ;)

Dang it! And here I was thinking that your staff consisted of super-geniuses and crazy ninja (yes ninjas) assassins.... You have just crushed my entire world, excuse my while I lock myself in my closet and eat fig-newtons until the weeping subsides. ;o)

Any chance that we'll also see a downloadable copy of the warehouse map in the upcoming Dragon #333? As it's being suggested as a player base of operations in the early stages of the Age of Worms, it would be nice to have it available as well either in the pdf for Dungeon #124 or as a seperate download.

Any thoughts on when we'll see this on the website?

Rooster

We're starting the Whispering Cairn a la the Forgotten Realms on Wednesday night--it sure would be great if the supplement was up by then.

Taking a cue from #324, I was placing Diamond Lake three days travel from Waterdeep but then I saw a post mentioning Calimshan. If the supplement isn't ready, could we just find out what region is recommended for Diamond Lake? Thanks!

I'd just choose what's best for you if I were you- they are just recommendations, after all. I've already got an Eberron game based in Sharn, so if I run the Age of Worms in Eberron, I'll probably choose to place the campaign in a different nation entirely- I'm thinking Aundair, personally.

Set it up in Waterdeep if you plan to buy City of Splendors, or whichever you're most comfortable with if not. You could set up Diamond Lake as close to Calimshan as possible- the empire did spread out pretty far in its heyday. The graves could be anywhere, really- the forces of chaos could have invaded anywhere, and I'd likely put the graves near the spot the tragedy occured.

I've found on occasion- not every time, mind- the "official" conversion doesn't fit my view of the campaign. It's yours to work with, after all- If you want Diamond Lake to be set equidistant to both Waterdeep and Calimshan, official maps be damned- Volo was drunk when he explored the Sword Coast, and cartography has suffered ever since.

Just my two coppers.

Eric Boy'd suggested location for Diamond Lake is the town of Daggerford, near Waterdeep. I've send the 124 web supplement to design, so you should see it very soon.

Erik, thanks so much for taking the time to supply the info. I subscribed to Dungeon around two years ago when you posted a call for subscribers and I've never regretted it. The best part is that each issue is better than the one before--kudos to everyone at Paizo.

N'wah--thanks for the well-worded advice. I'll definitely be following some of your suggestions on adapting the adventure path.

I second that!

Gadzooks! "Reformatting" the famous town of Daggerford?! That town is already statted out with great detail in one of the better FR modules for 2nd Ed, "N5 Under Illefarn". I'll bet you can still find hundreds of Daggerford-based campaigns all over the Internet, perhaps thousands more in realspace over the last dozen or so years, all based on the classic N5 module and it's superb maps.

Would anybody toss out the famous map and description for T1 Hommlet in order to "reformat" it as Diamond Lake? Okay maybe it would work. But nonononono, may Cuthbert smite you if you do! Don't make me come over there and take your Greyhawk books away........ :)

(though seriously, Daggerford is a convenient location, there could be mines under Illefarn Mountain, and it's got a swamp full of restless lizardmen nearby...)

Dungeon hit the stand yesterday, so where's that web enhancement?

Patient, aren't I :-)

I'm proofing the final printout right now. Should be online by the end of the day.

For the record, it also contains the missing Scaling the Adventure sidebar, as well as the Eberron and Forgotten Realms conversion appendices.

Wow it's great!

Aside from the unnumbered maps, and the conversion notes, I especially love having all the various pictures available for player handouts. And a full-size face I can show the players for each major NPC, is a huge advantage.

Thanks for another awesome online supplement!

Wow.

A Homestar Runner reference I actually caught.

Yay! Ok, I'm playing my first session with the girlfriend & kids this saturday. Going to start early so brains aren't too dead. Time to write up some characters for them and give them some backgrounds.

w00t!! You guy's have out done yourself with this one!

Thanks for the online supplement. Those pictures and PC-ready maps will come in handy.

I take it the hinterlands and encounter tables will be in Issue 125?

Scarab Sages

The online supplement for #124 looks great! Just showed my co-worker the map of the area they cleared on Saturday; she recognized it from the game session and started gleefully pointing out where various things had happened during the game.

Question. I thought we were supposed to see an outline of the entire AP in the supplement? Is this going to be released? Or has it been put on the back burner?

The online suppliments are way cool, but I really felt the absence of an online copy of the Diamond Lake map.

Are there any plans to generate something like that for download?

Not really. The online supplements are intended to allow DM's to show bits of information to the players without giving away other info about the adventure. This way you don't have to awkwardly cover the rest of the magazine while showing a player an image, or worse, cut the image out of the magazine to leave it on the table.

Since the Diamond Lake map is already intended to be removed from the magazine and displayed on the table, there is no reason to include it in the download.

Point taken, but I thought it was really handy having an electronic version of the Cauldron map to mark up and email. I'd like to be able to do the same with the Diamond Lake map, but it's far too big for me to scan.
