A couple questions: 1) A 15th level Warpriest of Tolc (favored weapon Javelin) casts Holy Ice to create a volley of Javelins. What abilities apply? Does his weapon focus / weapon specialization apply? Does each Javelin do 2d6 due to Sacred Weapon? Strength bonus? 2) Any way to get free holy water? Kind of want to make a build centering around Holy Ice Weapon, and thats going to burn through sooo much silver. Dipping a level of wizard or something for false focus seems less than ideal.
Any reason why this would not be possible? Raw wise, you could cast Ironwood, and an Ironwood lantern staff is perfectly legit. Once the spell ends, it just turns back to normal wood, yeah? Being on fire deals 1d6 damage per round, so if lit, it would destroy itself at the rate of 1 damage every 6 rounds or so, but a +1 wooden weapon has hardness 7, so it no longer burns. Rational Way: DC 20 craft check, enchant. Super Raw Way: 660 gp for someone to cast Ironwood, DC 5 craft check, Masterwork Tranformation, Enchant. Any problems I'm not seeing?
An Ironwood lantern staff is clearly possible. What happens when the duration ends? It does not stop existing. What are it's stats, what happens when you light it? A +2 Impervious Lantern Staff made of wood has a hardness of 13, more than Iron. Lantern Staves count as quarterstaves. Any reason why, using this method, you could not create an Oaken Lantern Staff?
Any way to change the permanent, non magical form or attributes of a Wounderous item? Not illusion, but actual, non-dispellable, actually different change? Hard to look fabulous in a 'plain brown robe', etc. Is it even RAW legal/ Cannon to make a functionally identical item, including slot, that just looks diffrent?
Does a damaging ability channeled through a Conductive Starknife count as a"Damage Bonus" for the advanced benefit of Desna's Divine Fighting Technique? Seems unlikely. Quote: Advanced Benefit: You can impart a powerful spin to a thrown starknife so that multiple blades strike the target rather than just a single blade of the four, dealing extra damage with the other blades. As a full-round action, you can make a single attack with a thrown starknife, rolling 1d4 to determine how many effective strikes you gain with the attack (if you roll a 1, then only one blade strikes). If the attack hits, all of the effective strikes damage the target. Apply precision-based damage (such as sneak attack damage) and critical hit damage only once for this attack. The damage bonus from your appropriate ability score modifier applies to each strike, as do other damage bonuses, such as a bard’s inspire competence bonus. Damage reduction and resistances apply separately to each strike.
Does increasing your unarmed strike damage do anything for Close Weapon Mastery? Do any of the following change the damage dealt: A) Increasing your current actual size (Enlarge Person)
Would anyone see a problem with such an item? By default, you would end up holding it in your hand, not exactly useful for something you usually strap to your arm. The intended goal is to be able to conceal the claw up your sleeve, then pop them out wolverine style in the event the jamboree becomes a melee. Would you allow it?
This seemed like a really obvious question, but I did not see it asked anywhere yet... Shifter claws deal damage based on your size. If you change into an aspect that is larger than your normal size, do your claws deal damage like a Shifter of your current size, or like a Shifter of your normal size? IE: How much damage do you deal when you shift into Tiger Form at level 15, and does the answer change if you were born a halfling? I would think 2d8, because you are currently a large Shifter, but the ability is worded a bit oddly.
If a shield or other item has an enhancement bonus as both a shield and as a weapon, how do you determine it's hardness and hitpoints? Gut reaction is to say "use the highest of the two to calculate hardness and HP" but I can't think of any rules to support that... On one hand, your kind of double dipping. On the other hand, they are not bonuses, you paid for both effects, and can end up with an ungodly expensive and powerful item. It costs equivalent to two items, so maybe it's fine for it to be as durable as two items... Quote: Each +1 of enhancement bonus adds 2 to the hardness of armor, a weapon, or a shield, and +10 to the item’s hit points. Heavy steel shield that is a +2 shield and a +1 weapon: is it's hardness/Hitpoints; 16 / 50Or 14 / 40
How do temporary feats interact with feats that allow you to gain an effect with a duration? Say a Brawler uses martial flexibility to get a feat, Thrill of the Hunt
What if the feat was Combat Vigor or Filthy Weapons? My initial belief is that the effect would continue for however long it claims too, but Thrill of the Hunt looks a bit too useful if that is the case, so wanted to get some other opinions.
What exactly does "... he may attempt or otherwise act on a grapple..." mean? Quote: So long as the wielder retains control of the trailing rope, he may attempt or otherwise act on a grapple as a free action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. It kind of sounds like you can make an arbitrary number of free action grapple checks.
I'm fairly certain I know the answer on this, but maybe I am missing something obvious. A ninth level Avenger Vigilante can have:
And not be proficient with Whips.
Any way to reduce the action cost to activate a particular magic item? Specifically a weapon, but other items are interesting as well. The only way I know of is to make the item Intelligent, then it can use it's own actions. Leadership can guarantee an intelligent item and allows you to upgrade it as if you had the relevant feat. Any other good ways to make an item Intelligent? EDIT: Steelbound Fighter 5 (1 weapon)
FAQ
Armor training... it stacks strangely. Instead of adding the levels, you add the "armor trainings" together. Sanguine Angel says Quote: If the sanguine angel has levels in another class that grants the armor training class feature, the levels stack to determine its benefits, but only when she is wearing Gray Maiden plate. Presumably this is supposed to be instead of gaining it again, even though the ability fails to say that. But, what if your a Fighter 3/ Masked Maiden 3/ Sanguine Angel 4? Count as a 7th level Fighter and 7th Level Masked Maiden, getting Armor Training 4 as per the FAQ?
1. Is there an advantage to using potions over oil, asside from interactions with build elements involving drinking liquids? 2. Can you forcefully oil someone against their will? 3. If yes to 2, would it be an "armed" unarmed touch? (Would still provoke for oil usage...) 4. Is it a problem that oiling an unconscious creature is harder than oiling an object or a conscious creature?
Can a greater transformative weapon gain an appropriate material type? I've seen similar questions asked about transformative weapons and applying inappropriate materials from the original item to a new shape. I am asking the opposite. If I put Greater Transformative onto a +3 longbow, can I change it into a +3 Adamantine battle axe? Why/why not?
Drugged up theives, bandits, courtesans and other criminally inclined individuals should make sense in setting, and are even alluded to in the descriptions of the drugs themselves, but are completely unfeasible mechanically. Example: Harlot Sweets "These amber-colored lozenges instill within the user a slightly increased agility and enhance both physical beauty and speech. So named for the fact that prostitutes often abuse the drug, harlot sweets are gaining popularity among certain circles in the aristocracy as well." "Companion (5 cp–10 gp/evening): Whether a brazen strumpet, gigolo, saucy tart, escort, or expensive doxy, this person is available for an adventurer who needs intimacy. An hour’s diversion typically costs a few silver pieces plus the price of a room." How on earth is that supposed to work? One dose of the drug is twelve times the nightly income of the most well payed prostitutes. How are they, as a whole, possibly able to "often abuse them"? Surely their customers are not providing it, as one hours worth of drug is more than the cost of 2 household slaves. Any suggestions on how to make this work? As it stands the cost alone makes them prohibitively expensive for wealthy adventures, much less common people.
Spoiler:
School: transmutation
Level: alchemist 2, bard 2, druid 2, inquisitor 3, occultist 3, ranger 3, sorcerer/wizard 2 Casting Time: 1 swift action Components: V, S, M (alchemical reagents or herbs worth 1 gp) Range: touch Targets: 1 object touched Duration: instantaneous Saving Throw: Fortitude negates (object) Spell Resistance: no You cast this spell as you draw out a consumable alchemical item to use. The object must be an alchemical item, but not a dose of disease, a poison, a magic potion, or another type of consumable item. The item divides itself into two nearly identical copies and the newly separated one is delivered into your hand. The new item functions as the original in all ways except the copied item suffers a slight reduction in quality. Saves against the new alchemical item's affects use the original item's save DC or the save DC of this spell, whichever is higher. Should this work with drugs, alchemical power components, and alchemical arrows? Would a use activated wonderous item (a pouch) cost 12100 gp? Would anyone actually allow such a thing?
Infused poisons are injested poisons that also include a potion effect. (Why this would be it's own thing and need a feat, instead of simply being a potion you poured some poison into I don't know.) Their name and statblock seem to indicate that they are now poisons. Can you then use covert poison to make them injury poison, and smear them on a blade, or an arrow? (Or a stirge lancet) (Convert Poison as the alchemist discovery)
Any way to deal damage with these? Working on a Poison Darter Ranger (Grippli racial archetype from Blood of the Beast) and would really like to use http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-weapons/specific-magic-weapons/st irge-lancet but seems like wasting their sneak attack feature. Would it deal 1 point of nonlethal damage, as per a successful weapon attack that failed to deal any damage? What if you put Flaming or another energy damage Enhancment on it? Would you add the Enhancment bonus? Treat it as dealing 1d0 damage? Would anyone be opposed, if all else fails, the creation of a Stirge Lancet from a small sized blowgun dart?
Brawler level count as Fighter levels for Feats
I've seen it said in other threads that you can use UMD to gain the benefit of Gloves of Dueling for 1 hour. What weapon group would this apply to? (Pick one when you make the check, pick 2 groups if you hit 29, etc?) Additionally, if using UMD to emulate weapon training to gain the use of the gloves, and possessing 5 levels of Brawler, could you then use martial flexibility to gain the Advanced Weapon Training feat for 1 minute? |
