I've leveled up in profile, and updated my stat line.
As discussed, I've rebuilt slightly to be a bit more offensive. Specifically:
- Dropped Shield proficiency, and shield talents
- Added Brute sphere (giving me the ability to perform a Shove as a Move) and Focused Might (giving me the ability to recover Martial Focus on a successful Shove).
- Added Swift Challenge and Mass Challenge (letting me challenge more foes at once, and improving the action economy of challenging a bit).

Yume looks the doors over. If they open in, she spikes them to keep them from being interrupted. Then, she says, "My kindred, I fear I've been so concerned with keeping us safe, that I've neglected the wisdom of a strong offense."
Yume sheaths the Whispering Shrike and stows her shield on her back. Then she draws the fine-but-nonmagical katana she'd crafted for herself and begins to do katas.
"Kiai! Kiai! Kiai!" She shouts with fierce concentration as she drills, wielding her katana in both hands.
When she's content with her practice, Yume sits down and pulls out a caligraphy brush and some rice paper. Shelyn, Lady of Chrysanthemums, may my hand help your beauty flow into this harsh world.
After sitting in silence, she writes her first haiku:
Frog relaxes in sun -
The heron strikes fast and true -
Lump in throat, no frog.

She nods to her brother. "Indeed, let us at least retire to that room for the moment, while we collect ourselves."

Yume grunts as she's stabbed twice by ogres and blasted by her brother.
Seeing how effective her siblings' breath weapons were--and how ineffectual she was with her blade within this ball of webbing--she shouts a sonic scream at the last ogre standing. Looks like that's possible without hitting Kenmai, given his elevation. If not, I'll take a 5' step first.

Yume's arms protectively reach out in front of her sisters and brother.
She looks left and right. Is this someone talking to us? Or something I'm hearing from back by the castle?

As she watches her brother fly over the wall, Yume closes and slowly reopens her eyes. She realizes she's trembling.
She tries to brush the gore off of her armor, and realizes it's futile.
"Well...we won." It doesn't feel like it...but my siblings are still alive, so I haven't failed yet.
"Who else is injured? Shizun, can you channel forth the blessing of the Lady of Chrysanthemums yet again today?"

Oooof!! 36 damage in a round. I'm glad I just got healed!!
Yume is clearly proud to fell the birdman behind her with a massive blow to the head--but in so doing she opens herself to two other foes' attacks.
Claws rip her arms, shoulders, and cheeks--and one barely misses her throat. With her blood flowing, she swings with all her might at the birdman to her south, ripping deeply into his flesh.

On the caravan
As the days progressed, there were a few times when Yume started to relax, lulled into the illusion that her charges were safe.
That was shattered when--while she slept--bandits ambushed them north of Roderic's Cove. Thank Shelyn she sleeps in her armor...but even so, Sandru and Kenmei were badly cut up before she got down and started slicing into the thugs.
After that she determined to take short naps during the day but to keep watch at night, when monsters and brigands were boldest. That paid off when goblin raiders attacking them in the Velashu Uplands. Yume, alert, saw them sneaking up the road and placed herself between the raiders and the caravan. She managed to slice down five in six seconds as they tried to rush past her. While a few did get past, she stemmed the tide and within less than a minute the cowardly raiders had turned tail, yelping and howling, off in search of easier prey.
Now
Yume smiles at her brother. "You were wise to turn back when you did. Your ability to take to the sky is invaluable, but if we are to succeed in this quest--and we must--then we will do it together.
"What do you three think of trying to avoid the cemetery and the outbuildings by the lagoon? Kenmei, did it look possible? I'd love to go directly to the castle and seek what we might find there first."
With lips pursed, Yume turns to Koya and says, "Honored Grandmother, please, with the grace of the Song of Spheres, how long do you think you can keep her alive?
"We will do all within our power to find what is lost here and return it to her."
