As a serious altaholic I would love an account wide whisper.

In other games I have a friends list and I usually can just right click the name on the list and choose 'Send Tell' and it auto fills and I can just worry about typing my message.

I'm trying to remember how STO did it, the account name and the character name were linked somehow and I remember really liking how it worked. I think you could even have 2 people with the same name.

Your social build > your character build.

It is completely conceivable to downright possible that at some point in many of our PFO's career, we will have the choice to become MORE powerful by "gimping" our character in order to train something the group needs.

Thats what I have been hoping. I am a team player and have been known to level things that strengthen the overall group even if it isnt my first choice. It makes me happy to do so and I usually end up liking something I would have never even tried before.

Except tanking, Yelta does not tank.

Thanks for the comment Ryan. I don't want to hate myself just because I was curious how swinging a sword felt or I mis-clicked something I didn't need. I also love multiclassing and it should should my vertical levelling if I level horizontally across many disciplines.

You sound as if you'll be in a pool of random Clerics that the others in Kabal are choosing from. It seems more likely that your friends will group with you because you're *you*, and not because you're a pile of points put together the "right" way.

I can see Sunnfire and Bunibuni kicking some holy @$$ if Stoneroot Glade treats its citizens that way.

Hehe, I was remembering my old FFXI days where a group would choose a poorly skilled Taru over a well geared skilled Galka White Mage just because it was the 'right' race for the class.

I think I get groups in FFXIV now not because I am the best black mage ever but I am fun to play with, am decently geared and play well enough to clear content. Ok I also am the leader of the Free Company but :p

I hope to eventually make a name for myself with Kabal but I have to have time to log on first!

All I worry about is how badly crippled I'll be in terms of making it through the day if I ignore the best/fastest path to anywhere and just pick up whatever I feel like that day.

I worry that my tendency to dabble in several things will make me a gimp cleric. I'm not worried about 100% min/maxing my cleric but I don't want a group choosing to take Bob the Cleric who never trained in anything but cleric skills over me just because I cannot quit my gathering addiction and want to train up some other skills. Am I building a garbage character if I play cleric and decide to try a couple months of Wizarding?

Last night I attacked an Omega Wolf (I think) in town and the Thornguard attacked me! I ran away and came back and no one attacked me so I don't know what was going on. I'm pretty sure it said Thornguard when I tabbed to him but it might have been a bandit?

I have 2 unredeemed invites. Can I just change the email address and give them to someone here who actually cares about Alpha?

Invite sent, I'm out now ^^

As a programmer I can tell you that the feeling when your phone rings when you know your boss is doing the build is horrific.

Recently I was put in charge of the integration testing so now I get to tell my fellow programmers that things are broken AFTER the build. I am the new voice of doom.

I think what a lot of people here underestimate is the number of RPG players that have joined PFO who have no previous MMO experience or at least none in the last 5 years.

Even among those who do have previous MMO experience there is a subset that doesn't have the knowledge nor the patience to wade through issues.

This weekend I'm driving down to my sisters house to install Pathfinder Online on her PC. The install keeps saying its corrupted when she downloads it and she hates trying to figure this stuff out. Keep in mind I have played my last 4/5 MMO's with her. She gets frustrated easily when things don't 'just work'.

Not everyone will have a patient sister to come help them and they may get frustrated and give up.

But to the OP I always start with rebooting all equipment and scanning for malware. I also lock down who can connect wirelessly (even restricting my kids from connecting their laptops after bedtime hehe). I've got my ISP coming out tomorrow for an upgrade so I hope that helps the issues I've been having (with another game)..

I actually met my husband of 17 years in the SCA. And yes, I make all of our garb.

I had fun Friday night beginning with someone giving me robe and a staff and then me accidentally casting on a town guard.

We wandered far and wide, ok it was probably within the same 4 hexes but felt far and wide. We murdered pixels and practiced dwarf stacking.

I had to learn to stand still when I needed healing. I got to hear "I'm coming Yelta!" in mumble quite a bit as a dwarf punched me with glittery green stuff.

Dwarf stacking should have its own achievement.

Yay! I was having a real issue trying to get used to a new mumble ptt key as I have used ` for years. I kept switching my weapon and hotbar but wondering why no one was responding to me.
