Not everyone play PFS, it would be really nice of Paizo to remember that. There is also the issue that fighter doesn't have a caster level so giving arcane strike offers very little outside the early game

Does the trap finding from the rogue VMC stack with trap finding from other classes?
Moto Muck wrote: j b 200 wrote: the problem is that you are counting your levels twice. you have 10 levels of Ninja , gives you Monk level of 6. And then 10 levels of Ninja which gives you Monk level of 8.
I would say that they don't stack, since it's the same thing you are counting. You just take the higher number (in this case VMC). I agree with you that shouldn't stack. Same thing happens with Brawler with VMC monk. It does not work with brawler (or any or the other classes designed to be proficient at unarmed combat) because there is no clause specifically saying they stack in their unarmed strike. That said, the monk prestige classes DO have stacking written into them so they could also pose the same question. I don't think the damage is overpowering (limited BaB, little to no spells, NO ARMOR) I would like to see an official answer or explanation of a similar situation before hassing my GM on it

Would a ninja's unarmed combat mastery trick stack with the VMC unarmed damage?
Would using an oversized weapon with ascetic style feat chain grant the damage of a larger monk?

Mark Seifter wrote: Raisse wrote: Mark Seifter wrote: Raisse wrote: Does kinetic blade use the critical threat range of the weapon you create? Since it says you actually create a weapon, I would expect yes. It should say it keeps the blast's crit range somewhere in that second-to-last sentence. But you should be able to do things like Weapon Focus or (possibly if you aren't using a touch one) Power Attack. So the ability creates a weapon made of your element, but uses neither the damage, nor threat range of the weapon you choose. So the choice of creating any one handed or light weapon is really just for cool points then? Does it affect the weapons finessability? Can it be used to trip or sunder like a normal weapon? Does it gain the normal weapon's special features (like trip, disarm or deadly)? It can definitely be used to trip or sunder, and if you make it light, you can finesse with it but not wield it in two hands. It doesn't grant any proficiencies, so the shape is mostly for cool factor. That said, this is a neat idea! I am strongly considering something special in there that lets you alter your kinetic blade to add weapon special qualities to it (like maybe adding a curving hook to add the disarm quality) If a kinetic blade is used to sunder, what would the weapon modifier be considered to be? Flat + or increasing with level? I ask because having an ever ready adamantine beatstick with con based damage is...convenient.

Under proficiency it says light weapons function as a light hammer. Does this apply weapon focus/fighter combat groups/etc?
I saw that Speaker of the past gave me access to oracle mysteries and revelations and changed charisma based things to wisdom. I was wondering if there was more that could do similar things. I don't have a set build in mind yet and was more looking for something to build around.
I'm looking for ways to access mysteries.
The list so far
-Oracle (duh)
-Speaker for the Past (shaman arch), time/ancestor only
Tengu has built in claw AND bite as well as a transformation that gives you flight and a size increase (str and all). The transformation loses your claw attack from your base for but just be sure to be raging as your giant crow and you will be fine.
Can a pc or npc worship a deity who has a race of worshippers different from their own race? IE elf worshipping Nivi Rhombodazzle
Dang. I was hoping it would treat me as a level 0 monk so I could abuse some mechanics with unchained monk since unchained monk is treated as a variant class of monk (like rogue/ninja).
Unarmed Combat
Martial Artist
Both these abilities say (insert class name here)'s levels stack with any monk levels for the purposes of determining his flurry of blows, stunning fist, and unarmed strike class features (including determining damage dealt by his unarmed strike attacks).
How does this work if you had the class without class levels.

I can't see a problem with having the multiple pok-e-manz of different types, assuming they're all within one step of your Alignment. Same here. :) I see no problem with having eidolons with conflicting alignments but you run the risk of not being in all of their best interest and having one or more decide to not help with certain situations.
How does extra channel work for classes like warpriest and paladin that use other abilities to fuel their channeling?
I am working on a CORE ONLY build for PFS and I was wondering if anybody had experience in the druid vs. ranger department as far as a trip/bull rush build goes. This is what I have so far for pros and cons:
Ranger
-Full BAB
-Combat bonus feats
-All martial proficiency
-Metal armor
-Skill points
-Evasion
-Favored Enemy
Druid
-Better pet
-Full casting
-Wild shape
So far druid is looking more appetizing because what it lacks in BAB it gets back in str boosts and size bonuses. The only real flaws I can see are how late they get the required feats and the early armor problems.

There's a bunch of reactive forms of healing which may kick in when you hit 0 hp.
What sort of character are we looking at here?
I was looking to make a bum rush charging rager type build that cares not that his ac is negative. An unarmed fughter/swashbuckler/duelist with snake fang is what I have come up with so far. Just forgo all attacks, parry EVERYTHING, and riposte when possible. Another thought was amateur swashbuckler on a 2wf kukri bloodrager.
I am looking for ways to buff up my bulk that AREN'T just ac, health, or save boosts. So far these are the ways I know of and their sources:
Snake style (feat) - Sense motive to ac or touch ac
Opportune parry & riposte (swashbuckler/archetypes/feat) - Attack the attack to parry it
Mounted Combat (feat) - Ride check to negate the attack
Damage Reduction (everywhere) - Take less damage
Blur/displacement (spell) - % chance to miss
Extra input is welcome. Please list source details and what is does.
Alchemist bombs, alchemical flasks, nets (with the right feats), and crossbows with the gunslinger bolt ace archetype.
Dragon style chain was not included under style feats even though it is referenced many times.

After getting 3 monk for a ki pool, splash 2 ninja for shuriken flurry. Then continue on your monk levels for better flurrying. Level 12 you are popping 8 attack for 1 ki for a total of 8d2+8*str mod+48(from weapon specialization and deadly aim). More if you sneak attack and use point blank shot. Is that viable enough? It's the new flurry of misses. Shuriken are cheap. Flurry on.
Dafydd wrote: Specifically, I am thinking of Verminous Hunter with Fast Healing as a 1 level dip. Unfortunately the fast healing is limited to 1 minute per day unless I kill off my pet bug.
Holy vindicator looks like a lot of fun to abuse but their bleed from stigmata seems like damage I could be avoiding. So far these are the only PFS legal ways I have found to mitigate the damage:
Scarrified rager (barbarian) - reduce bleed by 1 for every 3 barbarian levels
Hospitaller (paladin) - immune to bleed at level 11
If anybody knows ways to get bleed reduction (the earlier the better) your input would be most welcome. I'm open to items, classes, feats, and traits as long as they are PFS legal.
For shenaniganny fun you could make this a fauchard tripper build. Use your aoos to trip any enemy that tries to close in.
You should update your guide to include hybrid classes. Most notably brawler and bloodrager. Brawler is full bab with bonus feats, an ability that lets them get combat expertise while dumping intelligence, free (limited) 2wf, unarmed damage (for those vicious stomp builds), and an archetype for sneak attack damage. Bloodrager is full bab with a rage and spells (enlarge person is on their spell list).
Even if you can't do it yourself, spells like spiritual weapon (which takes the shape and crit range of your deity's weapon) are considered separate from you and could benefit. So go ham with your umd abuse.

Illusions are often save-or-die so greater spell focus is an excellent idea
There are the elemental schools of specialization for wizards and a number of elemental bloodlines for sorcs. There are also element specific metamagics. Beyond that I can't think of anything.
Jaklyn the Red wrote: Anaconda Coils, 18,500GP belt and Final Embrace Feat because the belt gives you the prerequisite. I don't think you can use an item to meet a feat's prerequisites.

I feel like having ki makes this TOO strong - I would scrap it
Unarmed damage as a monk 3 levels lower also doesn't work because monks get their damage increase every 4 levels which means at some levels you have the exact same unarmed damage. This should be lowered/changed to unarmed damage of a monk half your level.
Be careful with still mind. (Monastic Legacy)
Losing ALL armor without giving some defense back will result in a very dead cleric. A very dead cleric makes parties sad. Look at giving it wisdom to ac (like a monk) OR evasion at level 6 and the monk deflection bonus from leveling. Don't give it all of these because a this class still has some defensive advantage from healing and channeling. This also gives people a reason to not grab a level in paladin as they are now somewhat penalized for wearing armor.
Let the people flurry.
This archetype should have a little something iconic. Channeling through your fist = cool OR have their deity's favored weapon be considered a monk weapon. Who DOESN'T want to see their cleric of Torag flurry a warhammer?
If I have a burrow speed, could I drag a creature I have grappled underground with me?
lemeres wrote: Cao Phen wrote: The Pummeling charge feat, with Horn of the Criosphinx, and Dragon Ferocity. Unarmed strike damage plus STR x2.5 for all attacks on the charge? If you work it right, you can get this psuedo-pounce at Level 8, maybe earlier (not certain the build, it is late and I am tired.) Probably not. Remember, pummeling style is a style feat, so you can't use dragon style with it (unless you are a MoMS monk; either you are only using 3/4 BAB regular full attacks, or you only dipped to mix styles, and thus you delay when you can qualify for this feat) Master of many styles (monk archtype) lets you use multiple styles at the same time and get style feats as your bonus feats without meeting the prerequisites. Have fun with pummeling charges at level 2.

Quote: At 1st level, 2nd level, and every four levels thereafter, a master of many styles may select a bonus style feat or the Elemental Fist feat. He does not have to meet the prerequisites of that feat, except the Elemental Fist feat. Alternatively, a master of many styles may choose a feat in that style’s feat path (such as Earth Child Topple) as one of these bonus feats if he already has the appropriate style feat (such as Earth Child Style). The master of many styles does not need to meet any other prerequisite of the feat in the style’s feat path. When it says he doesn't need to meet the prerequisites, is that only for those bonus feats of can the style feats be taken with your regular leveling feats without meeting the prerequisites?
Quote: Monastic Legacy (Combat)
Your formal unarmed training continues to bolster your training in other areas.
Prerequisite: Still mind class feature, Improved Unarmed Strike.
Benefit: Add half the levels you have in classes other than monk to your monk level to determine your effective monk level for your base unarmed strike damage. This feat does not make levels in classes other than monk count toward any other monk class features.
How does this work with brawler who gets their own unarmed die increase already? Would a monk 4/brawler 4 deal damage as an 8th level monk with this feat or a 10th level monk?
