I am just passing on a message I received from someone who is on the ground and trying to protect himself and his family. I believe that asking for a statement from Paizo and / or the OPF isn't unreasonable or inappropriate.

Various countries and organisations are making statements, imposing sanctions, refusing to engage with Russian teams in sports events, etc. Admittedly such things impact the ordinary Russian people more than Putin but that doesn't make such things meaningless or mean they shouldn't be done. I don't think it is unreasonable to ask about a Paizo response or an Organized Play Foundation response.

I have just received a message from a Ukrainian Venture Officer asking about Paizo 's perspective on the current situation and how so many organizations are making a statement and taking actions.

Great news and a fantastic first step to making Paizo a company to believe in again.

Given ongoing events in Turkey, I have just been contacting our Venture Captains there to check they are safe. Hopefully, all of the Venture-Officers in Turkey are staying safe!

Some of the amazing Venture Officers and GMs in the UK have had the great idea of producing a monthly briefing, detailing any changes to allowed resources, rules interpretations and forthcoming PFS events.

The two white triangles are walls/solid areas that go up 25 feet. I think the observation decks are on top of them (as indicated by the additional dotted lines over them) and they can be reached by the ladders from the walkways. The decks seem to be walkway ending in a triangular area, so I assume the dotted lines indicate a railing perhaps.

The controls for the lab equipment are the 'different' element on the north side of the triangle.

That is a pretty good summation. Many of us outside of the US are (and have always been) extremely grateful to be getting something. And my comments on how I was going to be assigning Games Day support was very much from the European perspective of having conventions be at specific event locations. We don't have conventions in stores. Any events that happen in stores wouldn't be big enough to count as conventions and would be considered to just be game days. So saying that events in retail locations don't count as conventions for support purposes had no impact on us whatsoever. To be honest I hadn't really registered it.

As I said in my original post on this thread, "I am interpreting the Game Days as....." so please don't take that interpretation to be what every RVC is doing. Each of us is interpreting this and allocating support according to the unique elements of our region.

@David Harrison, It is some support, but to some of us it does not feel like much. Depending on the number of game days in your RVC area, and your travel range, you may only see this support once a year at most. The perceptoin, at least, is that this is very little support for what many consider the backbone of the organization. If others are unhappy for other reason, feel free to add or correct me.

I agree that it's not much in the grand scheme of things, but it is more than previously given. If it is proving successful in growing PFS then I assume Paizo will invest more in it, so we will get more than 10 a quarter.

Yes we all want more support. There's a lot of us who support PFS and have done for a long time, at many events with no support at all. For us, any increase in support is seen as a good thing. To be honest, with the amount of enthusiasm and hard work I have seen amongst all the volunteer GMs and coordinators for PFS I don't think it is possible to give enough support to adequately reward them.

How is this not "asking for this for years?" By pointing out the inequality of the old system they are doing exactly that: asking for a different system, instead.

And you are pointing out the benefits of a different system. That's what we all want.

But in the US, we *are* able to host lots of games in retail venues. Because of that "game days" are a weekly occurrence (or even more frequent). Do those events deserve to get left out of this process because they are either "too big" for Game Days or "not big enough" for Conventions?

As seems to be indicated by the blog post that started this, it *seems* not to be the case. But I would like to see the list, and see the reasons. Because I want to be on that list, too.

People have been asking for more support and more events being supported. That's what this is supposed to bring about. The way this extra support is to be assigned is down to individual RVCs but with the goal of supporting and encouraging Pathfinder Society. I assume that's what we all want.

So I still don't understand your criticism of this initiative. Previously, not every event received support because they didn't meet Paizo's convention support requirements. With the new system, potentially 10 events in each region will now benefit from support when previously they wouldn't have. Those events that do qualify for support aren't denied support. In fact, they may even qualify for more support because they are 'growing and strengthening the community' as doing that is what (in my opinion) is the reason for me to nominate an event.

In the UK, a little city that has a university you may have heard of:
Cambridge.

I believe it is more on each area having roughly the same number of VCs at the moment.
