Can't ready a charge action. It's a full round action and you can only ready standard actions.

Darren has given the bandits the option surrender, so it wouldn't be honourable to preemptively attack them. As such, no point to roll anything, since I have to delay until after the bandits' turn anyways, to see what they do. :(

We could lure them into a trap or just rush them. We're pretty beefy and barring some unfortunate rolling, we should be able to take them in a straight fight.

Weyland is mounted and in heavy armour, he jangles a fair bit. Sneaking in is not an option for him.

The other halfling gives Weyland a wry look, "You may have misheard Sir, but battle has already been joined."

Weyland snorts, "Bah, you know hors d'oeuvres give me gas. We've made the main course in time and that makes us fashionably late."

The jangle of harness and the clatter of hooves announces the arrival of an oddly matched pair. Trotting down the road is a duo of halflings. One in well-made, but travel-stained clothes, astride a nondescript brown pony, the other resplendent in shining armour, a brightly coloured pennant snapping at the end of his raised lance. This second sits proudly atop of massive slavering, St. Bernard.

The pair jangle up to the group assembling at the gate. "Hail and well met travelers. I am Sir Weyland Piper. Foul rumors abound of banditry in these environs and I have come to bring the light of civilization to these lawless lands. Might you have news of such misdeeds?"

Hi all and thanks to GM Calvus for extending the invitation.

From a glance at the gameplay thread, I can see that you're just wrapping up the trading post's bandit fight (which is great since I've done that encounter like 3 times on other failed Kingmaker campaigns). I'll try to skim the rest when I get a chance to, to catch up.

@Calvus: Since you gave like a million starting gold, I built Weyland with a manservant(expert hireling). Pons is there to help Weyland in and out of his armour, tend the animals, set up camp. He cooks and plays the lute, all that fun stuff. He has stats but is intended only for RP purposes. Anywho let me know if you are ok with that.


Well assimar are pretty broken too...

Anyways considering that all base races are in the 8-10 RP, with their points spent on mostly garbage, but flavourful features like stonecunning, hatred or defensive training, the power difference between a 14RP custom race and a core race is substantial. All killer, no filler as it were.

But really, it's the advanced ability scores thing for 4 RP that throws off the curve. I mean you could give a half-orc +2str, dex and con, -2 int and +4 wis and they would still only be 12RP. (and the best Monk race ever)


So ya, the race building rules are super broken........

Anyways, Weyland is a halfling paladin(shining knight) of Erastil that rides a dog and has a halfling manservant named Pons, because that armour isn't going to don itself. (and because with 500 starting gold why not) He's got a super high CHA and diplomacy scores, likes helping people, doing the right thing and its the type of guy that travels everywhere with his own Gentleman's gentleman. And that's really all you need to know.

Motivation for exploration:

Pledged to uphold the tenants of the Erastilian faith, Weyland roams the land, carrying the light of civilization with him. Resplendent upon his nobel steed, Barky von Schnauzer, and with his faithful manservant Pons at his side, he strives to protect isolated farming villages and works to keep the less trodden tracks free of predatory banditry.

When the word was put out for brave souls to tame the Greenbelt so that it could be properly settle, he knew that it was a call that he must answer.

Crunch is mostly finished and is in the profile. Pons is there for RP more than anything else and intended to not contribute in combat. He is being paid as a skilled hireling and is paid up for then next two months.

Weyland takes a few minutes to remove his armour and stow it in his backpack. With a deep breath and running start he leaps the chasm at its narrowest.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

Landing with a skid of pebbles, he turn back to the other. "One less to worry about. If we use magic to aid the wounded, we should be able to all make it across."

Waiting for the others' reply, he begins to re-don his armour.

Apparently not everyone under the rubble is dead and with a groan an a clatter of tumbling stones, Weyland drags himself free. Stumbling into the light, he looks a mess. His armour, gleaming all but a few moments ago, is scratched and dented and he is coated in sweat streaked dust. Glancing around at the small group of survivors, he says,

"Weyland, Paladin of Iomedae. Glad to see you made it Ozgo. We will need every warm body possible to push back this attack."

"Is this it? If so, let's not tarry. There must be a way back to the surface, and we are need there.'

Weyland steps into the early morning light, polished and gleaming from head to toe. For today was Armasse and if ever there was a day to shine, this was it. seeing one of the new arrivals looking a little lost, he steps down to join him.

"Good morrow, friend Ozgo. I hope that this Armasse finds you well. Come, let us enjoy the spectacle and put on a bit of a show ourselves. It's always good for Iomedae's faithful to be visible on festival days and on Armasse even more so."

For the games I run, I roll initiatives and I do enemies as a block and PCs individually. Basically it goes pre-enemy, enemy, then everyone. Rinse and repeat. Actions are resolved in posting order.

Weyland was originally aiming guardian in the original recruitment, but swapped to marshal at GM Ts request. Guardian would have been fine, but I would rather have a marshal in the group.

Howdy folks. Hopefully this time around goes better than our last attempt.

@DM:Couple of things. Dropped the archetype and since we don't have one, I think I'll be going Marshal over Guardian. I think it's a more useful path.

@Ozgo: Since we're both playing Iomedaen's, perhaps our PCs have already met? I saw that in your background, Ozgo is new to Kenebres, so perhaps Weyland is showing him the sights during the festival which kicks off this AP.
