Landing on the planet, Vyviane settles on a proper frontier woman-esque look, settling on a hard set face, letting some of her true age show through as her hair gets grey streaks. She compliements the look with a hair pin and a few small braids. "Hrmm, this look trust-worthy enough? Aw, well only way to change now would be a disguise kit."

In the communications tower, Vyviane's eyes narrow, before she pulls out her broad spectrum scanning kit and uses it to search for signs of (hopefully living) people.

Right, Vyviane is ready!

And she has a few new toys.

First she got a turquoise cube aeon stone that lets her retroactively add +1 to a failed saving throw, attack roll or skill check to make a failure into a success once per day

And two she got some Force Soles that allow her to walk on air. So she can walk just about anywhere whether it be on the ceiling or walls or in mid-air.

I think Vyviane is one off too. I'll see about a quick VTT game this weekend/Tuesday (it's a national holiday.) but if needed I can bring back Ceolor, the ranged Solarion.

Vyviane takes a look at the controls of the ship and gives a nod, "Good job, Nadia, we could use that. Rastar, I know the missile launcher is still pretty much not working right, but I know you can still shoot with it. Give it hell."

The damage is probably from the chase sequence. We took a few hits and rolled moderately to poorly.

Vyvaine takes a look at the damage reports and grimace. Their best weapon was likely to be out of commission for this fight unless Nadia worked some miracles. She instead focuses on what she can do for the time. "Right, Rastar, good shooting but you can do better, Chorizal you're piloting is as smooth as ever, but watch the flanks and keep an eye on the thruster fuel reserves. They're low from that chase. J'Shun careful about firing willy-nilly."

She then looks at the damaged shields and gives a sigh. "Nadia, I'm going to need a miracle from you or this fight will go south in no time flat. I'm loathe to do this, but fix those shields and try do SOMETHING about that launcher! THIS I ORDER!"

Vyviane can't do anything more as a captain unless there's another obstacle that she can talk her way around. The Chase action for the captain is only once per chase... Sadly it didn't help the 16 from Rastar as that would have counted as 2 successes if it worked.

Vyviane tries to pull up the comms channel, but quickly realizes that the other ship has made the current connection one way only. She tries to open a second line, but it takes some time to get that open and even moreso if she was to unilaterally force the connection. "I agree a few well placed fabrications would likely help us here, but I need some time to be able to even start communicating them."

She takes a quickly look at the read outs for the ship, before adding a few orders. "Chorizal, flight pattern delta would be good here, and Rastar, you should have an opening to take a shot in 30 seconds, assuming they don't change course suddenly."

She gives a less than angelic smile as she spots something.

"Belay bringing the ship round for a moment, Chorizal. There's an opening here, we just need to let her slide past us so we're in her blind spot and then bank hard. On my mark, drop engine power by 70%, I'll activate thrusters and then bring up the speed again. We're doing a modified shadow flip and burn. Everyone buckle in. Right, three, two, one... Mark!"

Chase Actions

I messed up reading the rules at first and set up a chase action (I've since realized it's a 'check for the group' system and not a 'check per person' one and spoilered the action.) But we get a check to overcome the obstacle (Overtaxing the engines) and a Chase action each round. So, which action do we want to take this round?

Whoops missed the timing on the promo video, but still want to write something:

Vyviane gives a smile as the camera is passed on from J'Shun to her in the central captain's chair, "Hello there, I'm Vyvaien Isafira and I see you've heard from all of my colleagues about their takes and feelings about the Starfinders. I have to admit I agree with them on about most things, but would love to add that the Starfinders is also a great place to find a place or community for yourself, even if you're a little past your prime."

She pauses for a moment, her face shifting slightly. "When I wasn't able to work in my prior profession anymore, I truly didn't know what to do with myself. It was too early for me to retire, but too late to start over in a completely new profession. However, The Starfinders welcome people with all sorts of skills and experiences and I found a place to use my skills again. They have positions of all sorts of skill levels, from support staff who maintain the ships to the diplomats sent to build peaceful relations. So even if you fear that your aren't one for fighting, there's still a place for you here." She smiles and gives a wave before handing things back to Chorizal.

Settling into her 'executive officer' chair, Vyviane pulls up the internal ship data readout and gives it a look as well as the latest readout from the scanners. "Right, You heard the 'admiral.' We need all available power to the engines. This is going to be a chase and we are badly out matched in that. Chorizal, flight pattern delta might be best here, though I trust your discretion. Nadia, once you've diverted the power, can you get me a proper scan of their ship? Rastar, 'adniral,' if you get a clear shot, take it. Any Covering Fire you can provide would help us to contain their speed."

She then sits back and takes a long look through the schematics of the ship they gathered from the party, devising a trick on how to fool their enemy.

If we want to take the Exploit Vulnerability Chase Action:
Whelp, unless the scenario gives us extra actions, there's only one chase action that a Captain can take, and it's only once per chase...
Exploit a Weakness, Bluff: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (18) + 19 = 37
With a smile, Vyviane sends some small adjustments to make to the engines and guns. "Nadia, a few tweaks to our systems would likely fool them into thinking that we are less powerful than we actually are."

Vyviane gives a small eye roll over the unnecessary grandiose gesture of transferring their 'leader's' flag between ships, especially as J'Shun may 'command' the vessel, but Vyviane would definitely Captain it. Outside of posting speed and potentially dice luck, I think Vyviane has J'Shun beat on all fronts as a captain.

She takes a moment to send Naiaj a message asking if the ship depot when they issue the ship could ensure the captain's chair is sized for a halfling and that there's a 'commader's' chair and a place for that dam- important flag for the sake of J'Shun's ego. "Right, personally I'm all for extra fire power. Sadly I haven't been able to convince anyone to give me access codes to the Gorgon yet... But I'm working a few angles. Surprisingly a tough nut to crack."

She settles into the captain's chair and pauses for a moment as Naiaj appears on screen again. She thinks over the request for a PR video and nods. "Love to do something for that, but I'll need some time to think things over. We'll have some time in the Drift, so I'll put together one then."

Vyviane takes a moment to note how everyone seems to be handling things well before she turns her attentions to the last standing character. She gives the cultist a broad grin and slinks closer. "You seem to be in desperate straights here. Sure you don't want to retire and ensure your life and safety?" She waits a moment to see if they are going to take up the offer, but is willing to shoot as soon as they do anything but surrender.

She misjudges the slide and the laser beams and gets a small cut. She frowns at the failure at something that should have been supremely easy for her, but her mental defenses suddenly snap up at the unexpected Mind Thrust, her mental fortress training coming into play.

Dangit, Failing that reflex save means Vyv has taken her exact stamina damage. I thought she got trampled for some damage very early on but that should have been negated by Evasion.

She still takes some damage but is more than happy to fire back, using the mental connection to send some distracting psychic waves first.

Deciding to leave plant number two to the rest of the fighters, and to get some plant goop off of herself, Vyviane decides to send some love and goop to the cultists.

"Right, you've got my... well friend isn't the right word here... work colleague? all bound up there. And we can't have that... though if you could make it so he can't speak that would be amazing!"

She slides across the table and then the floor using the goop Rastar so kindly coated EVERYTHING in, and flings a good glob of it at the dark grey cultist's back before following up with a shot of sonic.

Vyviane catches the plant starting to charge into a trample and flips forward onto Rastar's shoulder and then off of them, hoping to push him out of the way as she herself sails gracefully over the plant creature.

She lands on the other side and immediately fires a shot at the creature's back.

Vyviane, despite being up in the plant creature's face decides to try risking getting hit and looks at the creature with an angry face and in her best drill seargent ala Commander-who-ain't-a-commader-J'Shun voice shouts, "YOU, SAPLING! DROP AND GIVE ME THIRTY. WHO SAID YOU COULD ATTACK THIS PLACE?"

Vyviane, a small pate on a cracker half way into her mouth plops it into her mouth, and starts to move closer to the fight. She pulls out her pistol, mouth half-full of hors d’oeuvres, and adds, "Did we really have to have an extremist group crash this party. They've got an amazing caterer! Do you know how rare that can be?!"

She slings the last question at the one in black as she flips onto a table and then slings a shot as well.

Thank-you for botting me! I have had the hardest time trying to keep track of things on the boards, but now that work has started back up, I should have some extra time to keep posting (and I have significantly less games than I did in December.)

I guess Vyviane was being a spiritual successor to her PF1e ancestor who is ostensibly on missions to observe and only gets involved if the group starts to flounder.

Also I loved the jokes and comments.

About the best I can do at this level is get a KAC targeting weapon (not the best for my attack modifier and the enemy levels) or get a weapon that does a d10 instead of my current d8. Level 8/9 weapons would be better.

Whoop, Going through chronicles and I miscalculated solidly, Vyviane is level 6 after 3-12, and only needs one chronicle after this one to get to level 7. So we playing high tier no matter what.

I'm mostly recovered and should be okay to keep playing, and I'm okay with playing up. Vyviane takes a moment to blink at the finally dead amalgam and slowly move from off the ceiling. Once back on the ground she grabs a battery out of her other pistol and replaces the nearly fully used up one in her sonic pistol. She then looks at everyone with a wane smile, not even trying to cover up the anxiety and exhaustion she had been feeling. "We servived. J'Shun and Izzip will likely need some major healing magic in a bit but no one died, so there's that!"

She then takes a moment to breathe and reenter herself before moving over to the console and taking a look at the controls. "Right we were going to reboot the ship, right? I'll help with the console over here if Dr. Helix or Izzip would like to take the lead."

I hit a week where I was busy and stressed and the only game I was able to keep up with was a table of the special I'm running and then I just did not have the energy or headspace to get back to the boards.
