Any conversions of Carrion Crown out there? I might be running a CC campaign in 5e next year or so and would probably include Carrion Hill as well. Carrion Crown starts off with a bunch of haunts with no direct 5e conversions that I am aware of. Any advice on converting in general? I've played 5e and run some 5e modules but not converted from Pathfinder to 5e before (though I've played and run plenty of d20 and Pathfinder). Thanks,
So I saw on rpgnow that Fat Goblin Games put out a $20 PDF bundle covering lots of Tricky Owlbear old catalog and current FGG PDFs, $372.18 worth of stuff total. However they put so many PDFs the alphabetical listing display cuts out midway through the Racial Ecologies PDFs. Is there a full listing of the offered PDFs anywhere? Is this offer a promotion that terminates sometime soon? If so when? Thanks,
So my hero was driven schizophrenic by bug demon wailing in Wrath of the Righteous. At the beginning of stressful situations, like combat, he can be confused and 1/4 chance to babble incoherently for rounds, or attack self, or the closest creature. The phantom cicada buzzing revealing false prophecies having nothing to do with most anything would be kind of a cool angle to roleplay I feel. For damaging self to slap at imaginary bugs works too. Any suggestions on prophecies for me to channel and spout when the fits take hold?
OK, so my monk wizard has beast shape I. Can he use unarmed strikes in animal form? What monk powers do not work in animal form? Polymorphing gives the natural attacks of an animal. Does that include special abilities connected to those attacks like grab and constrict for a constrictor snake or poison on the venomous snake's bite?
Here is the text on swarm attacks: Quote:
In our group we know that we are going against vescavor swarms (biting demon vermin swarms). I have the spell resinous skin which gives DR 5/piercing but I'm not sure if I should expect them to do piercing damage. I can't find a general bestiary statement on what type of damage swarms do. Is it dependent on GM interpretation and so generally be bite which is b/s/p? Is it untyped and subject to the resinous skin DR?
I'm making an unarmed strike focused gestalt diviner wizard/lore warden fighter with master of many forms monk thrown in for a Wrath of the Righteous game and I'm considering going a trip focused path. The general wisdom I've heard is that CMD starts decently attainable but becomes more and more unattainable as CR goes up with Balors at CMD 54 at CR 20. What level range is trip generally viable in your opinion? I'll have improved trip at level 2 and lots of feats like vicious stomp greater trip, tripping strike as I go along. There is a Rite Publishing level 1 swift action 1 round duration divination called Down and Out that gives a +10 on the next trip attempt which I'm running by the DM which I'm hoping will extend the viability of tripping for a few levels. Also any other big considerations for tripping? Actively flying creatures and mariliths are immune I know but I expect I'll be in punching range of a lot of stuff on the ground during the campaign.
So in my homebrew I like to have multiple pantheons for different areas including the Golarion one, the Greyhawk one, the Forgotten Realms one, the 4e one, Scarred Lands, Dragonlance, and various real world based ones and other fantasy pantheons. Sort of like how Hyperborea for Conan had different pantheons for different areas, sometimes with overlaps in gods or different portrayals of gods in different areas. So I like to see connections and analogues between religions to create a situation like some Greeks saying the Egyptians call Demeter Isis and Hermes Thoth or the Romans just lifting most of the Olympians and giving them local names. So suggestions on connections between the Golarion pantheon and other pantheons or how individual Golarion deities could be connected? For instance: Torag: Moradin (3e, 4e, Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms), Hephaestus (Greek), Reorx (Dragonlance), Corean (Scarred Lands), Ptah (Egyptian).
So there is a Christmas in July sale at rpgnow. 25% off over 19,000 pdfs. Tons of pathfinder and OGL stuff including Dreamscarred Press, Kobold Press, Frog God Games, and others. Just from the first page of the sale the all in one pdf compilation 3.5 adventure path War of the Burning Sky is a steal at $7.50.
I don't really like the mechanics of shadows as monsters so if I can find a thematic replacement I'd like to do so for one upcoming potential encounter in an AP I'm running. The encounter right now has one greater shadow (CR 8) and six shadows (CR 3). The supernatural dungeon theme is witchery, darkness, cold, age, death, and winter. I have access to a ton of pathfinder and 3e materials that I am willing to use, so if you think of something that sounds fitting of roughly that CR range let me know. Thanks.
I've sort of lost the narrative thread on Baba Yaga's purpose in the hut keys. The giant's beard and plague mask they get from the Black Knight in Book 1 they throw in the pot in Book 2 to get to Book 3. Why did Baba Yaga create these keys? How do the PCs expect the keys to help them? I just finished DMing most of book 2 and this will be immediately relevant in our next game. Can anyone explain these so they make more sense? Thanks.
So our next campaign after I'm done running Reign of Winter will be Wrath of the Righteous going from levels 1-20 and mundane to Mythic 10. I will be playing an old demon-hunting martial arts eldritch knight concept character from a previous campaign and not DMing. The last campaign my character was in ended in conflict with a worldwound situation and an adversary succubus nascent lord so being captured by her and drained to first level fits well with the Wrath background champion trait. The DM has a couple of house rules including an option for us to pay five ability score point buy to gestalt an extra class. Another house rule is that weapon specific feats apply to weapon groups such as monk weapon temple sword and unarmed strike together as monk weapons. A third is that monks can full attack on a standard action at 4th level. I'm thinking of going gestalt all wizard on one side with master of many forms monk 2, ranger 1, lorewarden fighter 17 on the other side. I'm going with a feat focus on early snake style and combat reflexes, tripping, AC, and monk weapon boost feats. The stats by the end will be boosted by +5 from levels, +5 from mythic tiers, and probably two +2 enhanced ability mythic path abilities. I would start out with stats of: 16, 14, 10, 14, 7, 7 And probably ending at 24, 14, 10, 20, 7, 7 If I went triple gestalt (MoMF monk 20/ranger 1 and LW fighter 19/ wizard 20) though I could have stats of 15, 13, 11, 13, 7, 7 and probably ending at 20, 14, 12, 20, 7, 7 So a difference of -1 modifier on three key abilities to start versus +2 con and -4 str at 20 in return for +1 BAB strong reflex saves throughout, 4 extra monk style feats, 18 levels of monk abilities (with super low wisdom), and an extra fighter bonus feat. Bonus style feats would probably be monkey, dragon, ki rin, or crane ones. Qi gong barkskin and ki leech seem attractive. With the gestalt I would at some point pick up mythic armor mastery and go with mithral breastplate with brawling armor enhancement while with full monk I might stick armorless throughout. The wizard side is mostly for utility spells and self buffs plus crafting. I had a heavy wizardly blasting emphsasis on the EK incarnation but with SR and energy resistant demons the main foes and going champion instead of archmage I'm not planning on a lot of that anymore. I want to play this character punching demons in the face even though it is less optimal than full focus casting. Would triple gestalting be worth it mechanically?
I already own the first two Wrath books and I'm considering subscribing for the rest of the Wrath AP. I'm in the beginning half of another AP and not in a rush to get the full Wrath so I'd be happy to delay to get as many subscription ones mailed together as I can to reduce shipping. I'm not entirely clear on the options however. If I order #3 now can it wait to ship out with #4? How long do I have before #3 is no longer an option to start my subscription with? I'd prefer to delay until December if that is an option but I don't want to miss subscribing to get the PDF combo for it. Is there a way to delay the shipping of multiple individual issues to bundle them together to reduce shipping? Thanks
I run a weekly Pathfinder game in Centreville, VA on Friday evenings starting at 8 PM. After losing players recently due to moves we are looking to recruit 1-3 new players for our group. Currently I am running a Reign of Winter adventure path game with the characters at 3rd level and near the end of the first module. In the past we have done Pathfinder as well as VtM20 and Mutants and Masterminds. If interested please PM me with contact information.
Anybody know which issue has the 1e variant alignment paladins? I'm running a pathfinder game and soon the party is going to enter the fairy realm of the First World. As a twist since the First World is the primal land of the fey where reality is ruled by different and seemingly arbitrary laws I'm going to have everybody convert their characters to 1st edition AD&D while they are there. I've got one player who is an inquisitor however and I'm looking for good 1e class conversion options. I have the Dragon Magazine CD and I'd like to check out the 1e LN paladin variant but tracking down which issue that is in is less easy than I was hoping. Thanks. |
