Gen Con is a good time, although I won't be attending this year. Having a 15 month old daughter means I get fewer opportunities for mini-vacations. Although it has grown too large over the years, making the planning portion rather annoying. It'd be nice to secure a hotel that's attached to the convention center so I could have the option of taking the train in and having everything within walking distance, but the lottery system makes that a crap shoot.

Velinov moves onto the bridge, grabbing one of Kahwen's oily feathers as he passes. Pointing it outward like a wand and chanting, "Perungo!" the feather dissipates into a smear of oily globules as a black explosion of viscous liquid erupts from the ground beneath the construct. Grease DC 17 This article might be useful to check to see if you rule that constructs still visually react to illusions. Just curious for future turn options.

"Perhaps it's best that I use the wayfinder." Velinov can memorize invisibility x3 and use his lesser metamgic rod of extend to make the checks hidden. Or keep it with his art supplies - I doubt anyone would really question an artist setting up his easel and art supplies periodically.

I don't suppose there's an option to negotiate a treaty with both? A proposal would be to arrange a meeting between Cartahegn and Ungala to let them negotiate a mutually beneficial arrangement - perhaps one that respects Ungala's native rights while giving exclusivity to Cartahegn for procurement? I'd go down the path of role playing this, but if it's futile due to how the objectives are set, then I'd rather save everyone's time due to the nature of pbp. If that's the case, Velinov would side with Ungala as a Liberty's Edge member long term, although I believe be "stopping the attack on the cart" while letting Ungala go would still fulfill the obligations to Cartahegn.

Velinov will keep the spell up until after the negotiations have ended. He also chooses to remain hidden as an extra wild card in case of any chicanery. RE: That's part of the fun of playing an illusionist :) Just to expand, using illusions tends to bring back a sense of whimsy and wonder to magic in the game that long time players have lost. Or at least it forces a good description rather than sounding like an artillery unit firing off fireball after fireball.

Velinov focuses on his artistry, weaving the characters menacingly across the stage wall. Velinov continues to remain invisible and concentrates on minor image. Velinov casts minor image, creating a wall of dense bees with accompanying buzzing per the line on the map. I went for a "soft" wall to reduce the chances of disbelieving if they decide to try to shoot through it. Barely noticeable at first, one of the boxes on the cart appears to slowly open on its own. Slowly crawling out along the now exposed edge is the easily recognizable pattern of yellow and black. The bee moves erratically along the vertical plane, it's wings vibrating occasionally and sending out a low hum a few times, as if signaling the all clear, before taking off. Within seconds, more of its kin start to crawl out and take off. The lone speck on the battlefield quickly transforms to flakes of fallen ash, continuing to darken as the box unleashes the horde, culminating in a dense wall of angry buzzing between the cart and the southern buildings.

Just for spell calculation purposes, how high are the archers on the roof? 10' high? More than that? I've got 7 10' cubes to play with; I wanted to make sure that if I spent that along the proposed line that it could block visibility between the south side and the cart.

Would it be prudent to use things like ghost sound to distract attention from us while we're conversing or moving along? I could use silent or minor image as well. @GM Pendrak - would you allow Velinov to use these spells to mask or increase our ability to blend in? For example, if Velinov were to maintain an illusionary cloud of dust, perhaps kicked up from the roads, that happened to be heavier around our group? Would that provide a bonus from people picking out key features about our physical descriptions per se?

Cheat? How is that cheating? Why, because rather than come up with every relevant permutation for an anagram, I referenced a tool that exists as opposed to writing my own script? This isn't a Gygaxian era module where the challenges are DM vs. the players as opposed to the characters. That and the key is identifying or suggesting that the solution may be an anagram, not the actual excercise of going through the permutations.
