10/10 agree that the cat is more useful than me as well. Wizard at low levels, don't worry I'll be shaping reality eventually :)

Vance shifts through all of his prepared scrolls, organizing them so he can find them quickly when needed. He double and triple checks lots of gear, more so that he has something to do to calm his nerves than actually preparing. Before they head out he clenches his jaw and goes to talk to Olaff.

"Olaff...I know you're not the keenest on magic...but I really think you should consider the advantages. Remember when I made Ryn massive and he was crushing those who would harm us? Imagine if you had the same power! And I'm doing some research into alternative enhancement spells as well...well I'm trying to make you all as deadly as possible, as evocation has never been my strong suit...I mean I'm not bad at it, I passed with well enough grades, but lighting the air just seems to simple compared to the challenges of altering flesh! Not to mention it tends to get less attention..." Vance keeps rambling nervously, and Olaff doesn't see a stopping point anywhere in sight.

Vance begins stuttering. "I-I-I h-h-have..." He stumbles back, moving away from the creature before breaking and running!

Move action to move away, I will delay my standard action to see how the retreat goes. If everybody is running and the creature isn't pursuing, he will simply keep moving. If the creature looks to be pursuing, Vance will take out his scroll of silent image and make it look like he walled off the tunnel.

Continue forward, our folks with high perception should be checking for traps and Vance will be constantly scan the area for magic.

GM, want to ask permission on this: How helpful would Tiltha be in checking for traps? She has a hell of a perception score, but I'm not sure how limited her help would be with her intelligence score locked at 6. I don't want to play her too meta and be too impactful.

I believe only Nikka can see the creature. If somebody helps Vance get closer he can attempt a knowledge check.

Vance gives a sigh of relief as diplomacy starts. He is glad Nikka is here to help them talk through situations like this.

Tiltha has an intelligence of 6 but has no way of communicating right now. She would be able to vaguely tell him something of interest is in a particular location and if it was potentially deadly, but not much else.

"Ameiko!" Vance moves to her side with a concerned look. He has nothing in the way of healing magic or skills, but he scans over her for magic in case this ailment was magical in nature.

Yeah I emphasize with that. I once ran a 3 year homebrew game that ended with a Balor, only for the greataxe-wielding paladin to get a max damage smiting crit and nearly one shot it.

Agreed. I was expecting somebody to take a brutal beating. But we had very efficient tactics. Olaff distracted one while intentionally boosting his AC very high, and we had some dice luck with a save-or-lose spell.

Definitely not an easy encounter. We just had good tactics and a little luck.

"Oontanx xiekiv...oontanx xiekiv...oontanx xiekiv!" Vance's longer spell finishes, and Ryn's form begins to grow up with the sound of creaking branches as his skin takes on a faintly green hue.

Enlarge person spell from last round finishes. Ryn is now enlarged.

With that spell complete, Vance makes his way over to Sunishi. He places a hand on the ninja's back. "Rifst!" The sunlight starts to shine through him, and a moment later he is gone.

Casting vanish on Sunishi, he will be invisible for 2 rounds.

Meanwhile as Vance manipulates reality to their advantage, Tiltha falls on the dying ogre with a piercing cry!

Tiltha starts clawing at the fallen ogre. Basically just finishing it off.

Vance steps out from behind the wagon nervously, looking at the closer ogre. He pulls out a handful of multicolored sand and weaves an arcane sign in the air. "Kluchuduun ingis!" A colorful blast of light erupts into ogre!

Moving to the spot north of Rilka and casting color spray defensively. Should catch the ogre and nobody else. DC 15, effects depend on hit die.

As a general rule of thumb, Vance will always identify monsters as quickly as possible and share all information he knows. However I typically wait until I'm up in initiative since speaking is not an immediate action :P

Although in this case there probably won't be anything of much significance. "They're ogres. Big, stupid, and strong." 'Bout sums it up.

Alright, I'm actually glad because as efficient as crafting is it makes for a rather boring build, and I am already feat-intensive for a wizard since it's going to take 3 feats to turn Tiltha into a full terror.

Oh 3 days should provide more than enough time to craft whatever scrolls I'm going to need.

Further in this campaign does there continue to be significant amounts of downtime? Would I be able to get mileage out of crafting feats? With a party size this large we will be splitting the loot fairly small so I'm sure crafting will be much appreciated.

Vance can hardly believe the amount of wealth at his fingertips. It ends up being split eight ways (well 7, but 8 shares), but it's so much gold he can hardly wrap his head around it. I could have stayed in my own room with this much money! My entire education! Still, he must master himself. They had a long journey ahead of them, and if the fights they had are any indication, they were going to need more healing.

Vance goes to the Cathedral and asks about purchasing a wand, sad when they come back and tell him they don't have one. He continues forward and sees about purchasing what healing they do have, then walks away with six scrolls.

I assume we can take the healing out of the party loot, yes? That should be 6x25gp = 150gp out of the party fund.

If we each donate 11.75 gp, bringing our shares down to 328 gp, then the party fund becomes 750 gp and we can use it on a wand of cure light wounds.

Assuming this town has such gear available.

I'm slightly confused by the loot tracker so I would prefer not to tamper with it at this point in time.

Yes, and it's a remarkably well organized loot table. I am very impressed at it. However we as players have failed to put anything into said google doc yet :P

It looks like we have 1363 gp in raw liquidated coins (after selling off art/jewels/valuables). Are we wanting to hold onto the ring of climbing or sell it?

If we split the loot 7 ways (1 share to party loot) we each receive 194.71 gp with 3 copper leftover. If we split it 8 ways (2 shares to party loot) we each receive 170.37 gp with 4 copper leftover.

So these are the questions: Are we giving 1 share or 2 shares to the party? And are we keeping the ring of climbing or selling it?

Also I believe we had about 6 extra Wakizashis laying around. Those are worth 35gp, so well for 17.5gp each. Any that Sushini isn't planning on using we should liquidate as well.

Combat slogs happen sometimes. I would recommend doing as many dice rolls automated as you can reasonably manage (saves against marching, environment, survival checks to navigate, etc.). Other than that, for combat we will just have to run as efficiently as we can. Try to post quickly and in detail :D

We never ended up making a hard decision on the split of party loot. It seems we are wanting to split the loot evenly as well as split off 1 or 2 shares for "party loot", correct? I need to know exactly how much I have because I'm going to be crafting a ton of scrolls so that I'm not a useless low-level wizard.
