Perhaps. The easiest way would be to use a spell. Does anyone have a spell that allows them to track the person that was controlling the undead. Or perhaps the person that raised it? Without somthing of this nature, I fear we may need to accept that this creature will hound us further. I say, if we do not have the means to track it we merely wait until it shows itself again. Then strike at it. Otherwise I fear to large a detour and distraction.

Frost hoots a message into Valoren's ear. After which he looks up. Everyone, Frost here reports that he saw a copse of lush, green-leafed trees to the north west of here. I am unsure how far it is, but it may be a good place to head towards to rest at. If nothing else, it may be worth checking out. Considering their is actual life there in this cursed place.

I agree, while I do not enjoy the thought of being watched while not knowing just what is doing the watching. Either way, I say we move on. Speed is as important as strength in our mission. Frost Flies down and lands on Valorens shoulder once more.

Valoren draws Legacy and focuses his arcane energy into his blade, its edge glimmers before a burst of flame coats the length of the black blade. using arcane pool to enhance the black blade with flaming keen, and +1 He then weaves a bit of arcane magic and casts long arm on himself, causing his arms to grow almost half their length longer. You know, I've never quite gotten used to this feeling. As effective as it can be. At kardav's and bugeater's remarks he grins. Likely so, but care to not take any enemy lightly, remember where we are after all. he sends Frost into the air to keep eyes out for any other threats and to stay out of the fight.

Frost keeps a snug perch on Val's shoulder and ruffles his feathers. I don't think I'll be eating any of the local wildlife on our trip... if their is any of it left. Oh, dead people. The owl thinks to Val. Honestly, my first familiar at such a high level, are familiars allowed to roll checks as well? I believe my owl would have an Int of 14 or so if I looked at the familiar chart correctly. Val gives the bodies a quick glance over. Well,I agree that from what I can tell they weren't alone. I hadn't noticed their wounds however. Perhaps then, we should be expecting trouble nearby. As Merius shoots up on wings a fire Val nods in approval.

Valoren will spend time with the other arcane users and trade spells. He often is outside conversing with a large white owl that often rests on his shoulder. After the ship arrives he looks around. Well then, let us be on our way. Time is of the essence I fear.

I have the undead anatomy spells, so me being with our negative energy cleric could be a good thing. I could take trapfinder trait in place of student of philosophy, and rework a few skills. LOL, my comp says me and diremerc posted at the EXACT same second. (had "posted 6 secs ago" for both XD) and yeah, perhaps fully balanced parties may not be best, I know I've always wanted to play with a full stealth party to see how it goes. Hmm. I Suppose I have a spell to aid me in the dark tunnels. I doubt my friend frost will enjoy it though. Not much flying room. We should take care not to traverse too deeply, should we enter the underdark there are things much worse than orcs. at Ilthiens suggestion on spell books Valoren speaks up. Yes, That may be for the best. Though my arcane knowledge is less than some. I also will need to procure a few items before our journey. so you're saying all magi look the same? Huh, how classist :P

Hmmm, if we do take to the tunnels, Perhaps it would be better if those that went by that route could operate in complete darkness and could move fairly quietly. Orcs can be a dangerous foe, especially in tunnels in large numbers. As for me, I am skilled in the arcane arts, as well as swordsmanship. As he says the last sentence, he stretches out his hand and suddenly a blade appeared in his hands. The blade, seemingly a mix between an elven scimitar and Rapier, was black as night, with a single golden seam running down but a few milimeters from the blades edge. Instead of a cross-guard, their was a full hand guard made from silvered steel, elegantly covering ones grip when wielding the weapon. The hilt was wrapped in Red silken-steel threads, hard as steal, but soft and malleable as silk. with my magic and swordsmanship, I am competent in most situations. I reiterate my opinion that any group deciding to traverse the tunnels should be able to operate without a light source. It would be bound to attract unwanted attention. unfortunately, operating in the pitch dark without any light source is one of the few things I am poor at. he sheathes his blade at his waist and steps back a bit. Zoren: Indeed, I am surprised it hasn't named itself.... pardon my asking, and feel free to not answer, but what was it that caused you to act against your will?

*in generic nerdy kid voice* Dude, I'll totally trade you my level 10 rogue card with trap removal skills and +5 to damage for your Wizard card with fireball and haste! Edit: I could also take trapfinding, not sure how good I'd be at it, as I've seen some of the bonuses rogues/investigators can get on that.....

I was actually waiting for a good time to suggest something along those lines in game RP wise. Its one of the good things about having more than one spell book toting badass.

If I was going to make groups as a DM, or even a player seeking the best tools for the job, I would do- Stealth/tomb Team-
This gives them the option of operating without a light source if need be, with no detriment to any party members. The only problem is any sort of healing is extremely lacking. But I don't see alot of divine casters or healing standing around... While the other group, would hunt down the cultists and likely fight more would have a couple more combat focused members, and a few scouts. If the latest member can get a bit of stealth ability and or at least darkvision, I might suggest sending them with the stealthy team.

I want it, I know you want it I can sense it. Legacy! silence, please. For all our sakes, I hope that tyrant sleeps eternally, I have no wish to test you, or me, against even half his strength. Perhaps, if need be one group could progress on a more noticeable level, leaving the other to sneak through easier? They could then reunite if given the chance at the tomb-town. he casts a long, mostly curious glance towards Zoren after he finishes speaking. message cantrip to Zoren DC25 perception to hear: It is rare to see another Magus here, even more so one bound to a blade as I. After some thought, Valoren proposed a course of action.
Oh, yes, because dividing your strength has ALWAYS worked in the past militarily.... actually, that would mean more chance for glory ourselves, and less to share the spoils with... yes... An elven looking man speaks up, wearing beautifully crafted Mithril full plate, etched all over with golden runes of arcane power. His hair is shoulder length and well groomed and his eyes are a vibrant green. You cannot see any weaponry on his person. I for one believe it is no ploy. My father Caldir, journeyed into those lands many years ago on rumours and happenings concerning the whispering way. He never returned and I fear the worst. My father was a powerful man, he would not succumb easily. I would take up this quest, to follow in his steps, and to hopefully find him along the way... he pauses a moment. or at least learn of his fate. I offer my skill with blade and magic to this endeavor. And with the testimony of the others, I believe the threat is quite real. Either way, we cannot sit here and hope the cultists never get into the tomb. We must act. |
