I have one request though:

I need to retrain a level, and you need a GM to sign-off on retraining, so if you could please mark down I spent 7 prestige and 630 gp to retrain a bard level into a brawler level, I would be eternally grateful!

Valais rears up and roars in Lucija's face.

"STAY IF YOU WISH. WE SHALL NOT LEAVE THIS PLANE WITHOUT FREEING OURSELVES FROM THIS FLESH VESSEL."

She pauses as she sees the summoner's mark on her forehead. She sniffs and wrinkles her nose up, fuming with her eyes burning into the gnome.

"YOU ARE MARKED AS THE SIGILED ONE. THANK THIS GIRL FOR NOT ALLOWING ME TO REND YOU AND YOUR PET TO PIECES AND SEWING THEM TOGETHER."

Valais picks up Kleetus, hefting the paralyzed inquisitor over her shoulder, she rushes over to the Mwangi prisoners, trying to shuffle them along.

"Let's...let's get out of here."

"Oh no..."

Seeing so many people being held prisoner, subjected to the invasive violations of mad creatures, Valais begins shaking, halfway between trembling and convulsing. She grips her claws against her head and falls to her knees, her breathing somehow both heavy and shallow.

"Don't want to know, time to go...don't want to know, time to go...don't want to know...."

She feels all the memories come again, just as though she was in the green water again, just as though she still felt the squish of matted blood and flesh on the floor, just as though she could hear his voice outside the tank.

Valais starts with a girlish shriek at the scratch on her back. Her breathing tense and quick, she settles into her stance and begins consciously calming her breathing.

"Okay...you can do this, Valais! You shan't let these mean xill ladies hurt your friends."

With a deep breath, she suddenly launches into another flurry of punches.

Valais stands awkwardly as she sees the xill in front of her get sliced to pieces.

"Oh...um...I'm sorry, Ms. Xill."

She looks up towards the lead xill and Valais's friends that are wrapped-up in the tentacles.

"LET GO OF THE HALF-ORC, CURSED PLANT."

Liberating Command on Kleetus, escape artist with +8

She rushes up to the xill, but pauses for a second.

"Please go unconscious and stop killing my friends, Ms. Xill, if you don't mind. "

She throws out a massive punch at the xill.

I forgot to mention that Valais is in both of her stances now

Valais runs into the room, her speed increased by the gnome's haste spell.

"Oh. Well this doesn't look very nice."

She shakes her head with a child's disapproval at the xill.

"All of you Mrs. Xills should not be so mean. I shall be cross with you, I think."

She does her best to navigate the mass of tendrils covering the room. As she stops next to Kai/Kris, she suddenly begins shouting at him.

"FREE YOURSELF FROM YOUR BONDAGE, CREATURE OF MORTAL FLESH, OR DIE UNDER THE STRAIN OF YOUR OWN WEAKNESS."

Liberating Command, Kai/Kris gets an immediate escape artist check to escape the grapple with a +8 bonus

"Um...is everyone alright down there? It sounds rather strange down there...."

She nervously glances about, lightly gnawing on her lip. She shoots her wand of shield out of her wrist sheath.

"I hope this works. Best to be safe...."

As she takes a few steps towards the door, Valais notices that her arms and legs suddenly appear especially limber as her "roommates" focus on staying aware of attacks against their shared home.

Valais's eyes turn big as she hears of the power that drives this ship. Incredulous at the thought of the callous mind that would engineer such a vessel, she shakes her head.

Valais remains hidden behind Kleetus, her human eye peeking out from behind him. She suddenly starts shouting in Blue's booming voice and his vile tongue.

Valais pauses to gaze wide-eyed and slack-jawed at the fantastical room.

When someone points out the creature in the crystal, she scoots up behind Kleetus, softly chewing on her lip as she huddles behind him. Her babau mouth and the kalavakus half of her head are hidden behind the half-orc's back and neck, respectively, leaving a single human eye and her long hair peeking out.

She waves at the crystal.

"Um...hi."

Valais takes control of her body once more. She gasps and drops the spear, the weight of the spear pulling the still-impaled xill to the ground. She rapidly glances about, tears welling in her human eye.

"Oh my goodness...did...did...I do that?"

She turns away and closes her eyes, hold her claws up against her ears as she squats down. She tries to remember her breathing exercises.

"Just follow the way...everything is okay...just follow the way...everything is okay...just follow the way...everything is okay...."

As her breathing calms, she opens her eyes, rolling her vertebrae up into a standing position one-by-one. She turns to the xill.

"I am so very, very sorry, Mrs. Xill. Please...forgive me."

She pulls the longspear out of the corpse, cleaning it off with a cantrip. She gazes at it for a moment, her grip loosening enough that the smallest movement would let the spear drop. A small voice--a giggling, red voice--insists that it is very, very important that she hold onto this spear. Such terrible things would happen to her if she would leave it.

Her grip tightens once more, and she drags it along, the tip screeching softly as it scrapes against the floor. Her free claw shears through the plant growth to help clear the way.

She brings down a massive hammer blow on the xill's head.

She then begins chuckling and spasming again.

Valais reaches behind her, taking the longspear off her back. The spear has a vicious blade covered in fangy protrusions, and the entire shaft is of a dull, dark grey. Anyone that has fought a babau before would recognize it in an instant. She holds the tip up to the xill's face.

"Hehehe...bad luck for you...."

Valais's body suddenly jerks randomly every few seconds, her claws rubbing together as she chitters her teeth.

"Hehehe...what do we do, what do we do....kill it? No, rip off its claws and send it back...tear out its eggs and crunch them...so many things...."

Valais's entire body clenches. Her teeth grit so hard that they screech against each other.

"REVEAL YOUR SECRETS, CREATURE OF THE LESSER PLANES, BEFORE I CRUSH EVERY BONE IN YOUR BODY TO DUST."

She takes hold of herself once more, all memory of Blue's outburst forgotten.

"Oh, um, are you alright, Mrs. Xill? I hope I didn't tie you up too tight. I shan't want to make you uncomfortable."

Valais takes the party's rope and hovers briefly over the xill.

"I'm very sorry, Mrs. Xill, but I will have to tie you up. You shan't be escaping and doing more bad things to other people anymore."

While she still holds a somber expression, all of her trepidation in her body dissolves, and she dives onto the xill, hog-tieing it in moments. She stands back up and smiles proudly at her companions.

"Hopefully, that will hold this creature, friends."

Valais trembles as she wipes the blood off of her. She sits down and takes a lotus pose, or at least the closest approximation she can manage. She closes her eyes and breathes deeply. The trembling slows and softens in starts and stops, finally stopping. She finally opens her eyes and blinks, her eyes wide.

"Is...um...everyone okay?"

She draws her cure light wounds wand.

"I do hope this works this time...I hope everything on this boat doesn't do bad things to healing...."

Valais's form softens and Red's wicked smile melts away. Her stitched brow raises with concern.

"I'm sorry, but I shall have to knock you unconscious, if that shan't be too much trouble." Her voice is small and earnest, like a little girl admitting to sneaking a cookie before supper.

She resets her stance and begins another combo, though with far more restraint this time.

Valais rears back as the claw scratches her. As she looks down at the blood, she looks up again, smiling.

"Hehehe, your turn."

She elbows the creature with her right arm, gives a left cross across its face, turning it around into a clothesline afterwards.

Clutching her claws to her chest and gnawing at her lip, Valais vacilates between following and retreating. She closes her eyes.

"Just remember, Valais, you're a Pathfinder! You shan't be scared away by a simple door."

She finally follows her companions through the door.

Valais waits at the entrance deeper into the boat, turning back towards the others.

"Come on, everyone! It's time to Explore! Report! Cooperate!" Such a rallying cry--combined with her earnest, childish tone--certainly has a sickeningly saccharine taste, but it takes on another more melancholic aspect coming from the poor girl.

When the others have gathered down below, or--alternatively--she has been told to do so, she will try to do what she used to do much better back before her so-called "accident"--find traps on doors.

While within the Iomedaean church, Blue and Red stay hidden underneath, being smart enough to know that they do not want attention and that they both benefit from their shared "vessel" being healed.

She allows herself to be shuffled around up the food chain of the church without much comment more than her constant apologies.

Valais somehow manages to make a kind smile appear on her babau jaw as Genedair finally cures her wounds.

"Thank you so much, kind sir. I hope I wasn't too much trouble for you."

She will finish topping herself off

Oh, Blue was talking about something else from their backstory. There's a reason dwarves can trigger Valais's PTSD....

Valais lets go of Deaglan as suddenly as she grabbed him. She retracts, clutching her upper arms as though chill had come over her.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Deaglan. Blue doesn't like being stuck with me very much, and dwarves bring back bad memories...."

She sits down next to the side of the boat starts and starts softly rocking back and forth.

"Don't want to know...time to go...don't want to know...time to go...don't want to know...time to go...don't want to know...time to go...."

Rage suddenly fills Valais's eyes and she takes on the movements and posture of a hulking brute, grabbing Deaglan by the shoulders.

Valais is already a glass cannon with her HP, and I would really rather not continue without healing her, especially as we have every reason to expect there could be more of these things down below. The immediate threat of the guards being in danger is over, and the situation appears to have stabilized.

Valais cradles herself as she hunches forward, her legs shuffling back-and-forth as the others converse.

"There's something wrong with me? OR WRONG WITH THE HEALER."

She bites what little lips she has left.

"Maybe...we should go back to the temple in the city since we saved all these chaps."

Her voice cracks and her claws clench, pressing against her demonic scales.

"If they can't fix me, you can leave me there. I shan't want to be any trouble."

After the first charge sizzles, Valais's skeletal jaw drops. She rushes to tap it again and if it doesnt work still yet again.

"W-w-what...did I do something wrong? It's never done this before...CURSED BROKEN TRINKET"

As Blue's booming voice takes over, she places her other claw on the wand and begins slowly applying pressure. She suddenly softens, slapping her own claw for its disobedience.

"Bad Blue!"

She looks to the others.

"Can any of you guys heal me?"

As the crystal golem shattered around her, Valais roared a deep fiendish bellow before suddenly collapsing into murderous giggling, then finally confused, wide-eyed fear. As she rapdily scans the now quiet scene, clutching her claws to her chest, she calms.

"Oh...it's gone? Did I do alright?"

She feels something wet on her chest; not the tingling burn of a babau's moist skin, but that of blood. Bits of crystal have lodged themselves about the wound.

"I've been hurt...are the rest of you alright."

She digs out a wand from her pack. She smiles with a child's pride as she shows it off.

"I'm a good Pathfinder. I have my cure light wounds wand! I can use it, too!"

The muscles on Valais' red, wiry arms tense up as she falls back into her training. She hears the voice of Blue demanding retribution and violence and the voice of Red laughing as he thinks of the sounds the construct will make as she cracks open all of its joints. She has learned to take what she needs from them: the will to fight, and the knowledge of how to use her new body's untold strength.

Valais scurries up the side of the ship, hastened by Lucija's spell. She squints her eyes at the devices on the deck.

No memories come to her, but another more terrifying one strikes her, taking her thoughts briefly away from the current battle. Her eyes widen in fright for a moment at the sight of the giant dwarf before a deep rage throws such small emotions aside. She quickly turns to the training she has received from the Koradan monks, channeling that violent demonic energy towards something more useful.

Valais is now in both Dragon and Pummeling Style, thank you Combat Style Master

She runs up and slams a clawed fist into the creature.

Valais holds her hands up to her head as she wracks her brain for any knowledge of this strange creature, her teeth softly chittering.

Afraid of this unknown creature of crystal, Valais has trouble focusing. "Red" and "Blue" either don't know anything, or aren't sharing.

I flavor her bardic knowledge as her trying to recall things from the demons or her lost memories.

"Oh, um...that doesn't look very nice. I don't want to get CRUSHED INTO PASTE. Delicious paste of blood and bone and fat and muscle hehehehe"

A wand shoots out of her right spring-loaded wrist sheath.

Valais has wand of shield in her right wrist sheath and wand of cure moderate wounds in the left

She smiles at her companions, pointing weakly at her wand.

"I just got this nice new wand. I'm not so good at using it, though...."

She smacks the wand against herself.

"Oh, it worked that time! YES, NO WEAKLINGS SHALL TOUCH ME."

As he says this, Blue takes limited control over his former legs, the muscle memory still within them of the impressive footwork they were once capable of.

That's just how I flavor using Martial Versatility for Combat Expertise. Blue is a Kalavakus, and it's a feat all Kalavakus have :)

Valais trudges back over to Hestram, her eyes wide and childlike as she wrings her claws.

After Hugen finishes his answer, the 6'4" Valais leans forward to whisper in Hestram's ear.

"I have my letter from the Master of Scrolls that says I'm cleared for duty. Should I show him?"

Valais smiles weakly and waves at the Harbormaster.

"Hello, Mr. Good Man. My name is Valais. You seem like a nice chap. NICE TO EAT."

She goes over to the window and tries to spy the ship.

"Does this ship look like it's...oh, what's that word again?...um...technological? Yes, that's it! Technological! I was stationed in Numeria for a while. Before my accident, you see."

She gazes off into the clouds, not looking at anything in-particular.

"I was reading my old journals I used to know Androffan. He or she must have been nice and very smart. And about...technology."

Her human eye begins to well with tears.

"Maybe I'm not so useful to you anymore...."

Valais looks confused, pleased, and worried all at once as Lucija looks over the picture.

She wrings her claws together, anxiety filling her whole body.

Pulling off the cover reveals an excruciatingly detailed picture that looks like it was drawn by a brilliant, highly disturbed madman. Think a combination of H.R. Giger, Hieronymous Bosch, and fetishy fantasy art. Her lackadaisical attitude about it indicates she really just thinks its a bad drawing.

She modeled for a sewer artist in Katapesh during Broken Chains. The artist got a 45 on his craft (painting) check for it and a 35 on the copy he made for her

Because thinking evil thoughts pings detect evil, leaving the sensor on her will get random bouts of EVIL popping up, then going away. She will always detect as lawful and good though.

A weak voice appears from behind the door frame. "Oh...um...is this the place for the briefing? Am...I early?" Think a weak, fragile girl's voice with a Northern English accent

Hunched over, clasping her hands, the creature takes a few trepidatious steps forward.

Very little human is left on her. Her torso is red, raw, and impossibly thin--skeletal, really. In constrast, her mismatched legs are well-muscled and huge. Stitches are visible all over.

Nowhere is her amalgamation clearer than in her face. The bottom of her face is a slack-jawed skeletal red maw in-keeping with her torso, while the upper left side is a weighty blue with heavy features. Mismatched horns poke up from the sides of her head.

The one remaining bit of humanity visible is a patch around her right eye, a beautiful grey-blue now full of sorrow and fear, and long waist-long ashy brown hair, meticulously combed like a doll's.

She forces a smile from her demonic mouth.

"Um...my name is Valais. I am a Pathfinder. I am very much happy to meet you. I-I-I hope I shan't be too much trouble for you. I'm not as clever as I used to be, bu-bu-but I am much stronger now, and I do occasionally remember things."

She glances about, her eyes turning towards the ground.

"I suppose if you think I'll be too much trouble, I CAN CRACK YOUR SPINE IN HALF AND FEAST ON THE MARROW, or I suppose I could leave." Her voice and demeanor instantly turn huge and booming before instantly returning, her voice never skipping a beat.

"Oh...um...sometimes, I may say things I don't mean. I don't realize it, so please tell me if I do."

She points a claw at the blue third of her face. "If it's angry and shouty that's Blue."

She moves her claw to point to her mouth and torso. "If it's laughing at queer things you shouldn't laugh at like...blood...or stabbing people, that's Red."

The main mechanical thing with Valais is that she has both Dragon and Pummeling Style and can be in both at the same time. She also has Combat Style Master, so the second initiative begins, even if she hasn't acted yet, she is in Dragon Style
