Just to clarify, because that was a big wall of text. I took 18 hp damage? Did I take more somewhere else? I should have been only down 3 hp after using my Second Wind, but I cannot see where the extra damage is coming from... Not trying to be difficult, just trying to understand.

No worries. We got hit with a major power outage that blew some transformers on campus! We have been out of power for a week now and do not expect restoration until maybe next Monday... For now I am in the Library, where they have restored partial power and internet so I can do some actually work.

Maybe just bring up what the site manager said and ask if you could inquire on the decision so that you can proceed to pursue other opportunities if you are not selected.

If you do not hear back in a day or two, I would begin looking for another opportunity. That way you have things lined up if this does not work out...

You shouldn't have to Disengage, as they are shooting at you through the arrow slits, if I am reading it correctly. You could use your Second Wind to heal up some of that damage with a Bonus Action, then still take an attack at one of the bigguns...

Unwavering Mark:

Just checking to make sure that you did not overlook something, do they have Hide as a Bonus Action? If not, remember that it takes an Action to Hide. However, they have like 3/4 cover at least, or total cover if they just duck behind the wall.
